The tiny granules seemed to gently sweep away dead skin cells. The exfoliation was more effective than I expected, and I appreciated that it didn't cause any pilling. After use, I felt like my skin's hydration levels had noticeably improved! Thinking it was for exfoliation, I initially applied too much pressure while scrubbing, which caused a burning sensation. However, when I used it again with a gentler touch, the burning feeling significantly decreased. It seems the key is in how much pressure you apply. I didn't use my fingertips to rub it in. Instead, I applied it using the back of my hand in a gentle circular motion. This method seemed to cause less irritation! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 10, 2022
The Hwahae Testers Review Reviewer's skin type: Sensitive skin with slight redness and deep dryness Ingredient analysis: They've made efforts to combat dryness and minimize sensitivity. Overall, the formulation is good. Texture and feel: Despite containing particles, it was less irritating than expected compared to other brands. It also showed definite effectiveness in removing dead skin cells. Ingredient analysis: While the overall formulation is good, I wonder if limonene was really necessary. Also, the high content of acids could potentially irritate sensitive skin. Texture and feel: It seemed slightly inadequate for tackling blackheads. The sensation of the particles is subjective, so it might feel sensitive to some users. Recommended to use a mask after application - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 10, 2022
✓ A non-dripping, honey-like texture that's delightfully thick ✓ Tiny grain particles that feel like they're exfoliating every nook and cranny ✓ Instant glow and softness after using the product ✓ Noticeably gentle on the skin While I appreciate the eco-friendly packaging as someone who tries to practice zero waste, it might be a bit inconvenient for some users. You'll need to prepare a small container and boil the product before use. Although it's gentle, apply very lightly with your ring finger, especially on the cheek area. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 10, 2022
Before diving into the main review - I have acne-prone skin with enlarged pores in the T-zone and blackheads forming a nightmarish combo. While I was initially hesitant to use a scrub due to my sensitive, acne-prone skin, I decided to give it a careful try. Thankfully, it didn't cause any stinging or pain. ❤️Dead skin cell removal It definitely delivers on its main purpose! It was particularly effective on the stubborn whiteheads around my nose that always bothered me after cleansing. The scrub noticeably smoothed out those areas. 🧡Emulsifies like a cleansing oil I used it on slightly damp skin, but when I felt a bit of irritation and added more water, it turned white and emulsified similar to how cleansing oils do! 💚Eco-friendly No need to explain further... I repurposed an empty skincare pad container by cleaning it with an alcohol wipe and used it to store the product! It's a small step, but I feel good about reducing waste. 💙Price As a Hwahae Tester, I hadn't paid much attention to the price, but when I went to write this review... Oh my! I was quite surprised. Considering that a body scrub with about 6 times the amount costs around $20, this seems quite expensive even if it's specially formulated for facial use. 💜Hygiene I'm a bit concerned about potential contamination when scooping the product out of the container with my fingers... - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinOct 10, 2022
I felt so at ease using this natural facial scrub. I was always worried that other exfoliators might damage my skin chemically or physically, but this one left me incredibly satisfied with its gentle grain particles for a soft scrub! Plus, the skin-friendly ingredients gave me peace of mind while using it. The individual packaging keeps things neat and it's so portable - perfect for travel too! I found a 50ml empty bottle at Daiso and it made using this product super clean and convenient. If there's one downside, it's that it's a bit pricey for the amount you get. While they've used eco-friendly paper packaging to protect the environment, you still need to transfer it to a bottle for 3-4 uses. I think it would have been better if they made it like Seolleime ice cream, with an eco-friendly paper pack and a lid made from biodegradable corn starch. This scrub leaves your skin feeling smooth and hydrated even afterwards. For maximum effect, use it the night before a day when you need your makeup to look flawless! Since it's an exfoliating scrub, be sure to follow up with a generous layer of moisturizer for extra soft and hydrated skin the next day. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 10, 2022
First off, I noticed it wasn't in a bottle, so I looked into it and found out it's an environmentally conscious product. I decided to use it by putting it in an empty container I had at home. It has grain particles, so those with super sensitive skin should be careful not to scrub too hard. I have combination dehydrated skin, and I tried two methods: once I applied the product, gently massaged it, then gradually added water to dissolve it while rolling. Another time, I immediately mixed it with a small amount of water and rolled it on before cleansing. I found that using the first method once a week was great for removing dead skin cells and excess oil, while the latter worked better for daily use. The results after using this product were absolutely amazing. My skin felt incredibly soft, and unlike other scrubs where the effect is temporary, this one left my skin feeling smooth even the next day. I loved how soft my skin felt during my skincare routine afterward. While the product is gentle and effective, the price point is a bit on the higher side. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinOct 10, 2022
**Review from The Hwahae Testers** When it comes to its exfoliating power, this is definitely a great product. It effectively removes stubborn dead skin cells, and it's particularly impressive on my nose, which tends to get quite flaky. After using it, my nose felt incredibly smooth. I believe with regular use, you'll see significant improvement. Unfortunately, the other aspects of this product didn't work well for me at all. I hesitated to write this review, but I'll try to be as honest as possible. Quite harsh - While the scent itself isn't overpowering, there's a distinct chemical smell. Even though I didn't use a large amount, I kept experiencing a bitter sensation while massaging it in, similar to the eye-stinging effect you get from products with high mint content. Too thick - This made it quite challenging to work with. It was difficult to massage, and I wasn't sure if it was actually exfoliating properly, so I had to spend quite a long time working it into my skin. Hard to rinse off - Even after rinsing, my skin still felt slippery, making it hard to tell if I'd removed it all. I got so tired of rinsing that I eventually had to use a foam cleanser to get it off completely. While its exfoliating performance is good, the inconvenience of use might make me hesitant to reach for it often. Since it's challenging to massage and rinse off, I found it's better to apply a thin layer to your face, then wet your hands and dilute the scrub as you massage. With more water, it becomes much easier to work with. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 10, 2022
I purchased this product with my own money and here's my honest review: Overall: This is the scrub to go for if you're looking for one with good ingredients! 1. Ingredients Although scrubs are meant to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells, which can be irritating even with the best ingredients, this product manages to be quite gentle! 2. Skin texture improvement The scrub particles are on the smaller side, which is great for smoothing out the skin texture. The size of the particles is just right, making it an ideal scrub in my opinion. 3. Foam It produces foam, which makes it much less abrasive than typical scrubs. I love that it not only exfoliates but also cleanses, giving you a two-in-one product! 4. Refillable I appreciate their consideration for the environment! While the refill isn't exactly cheap, I like that they offer this option instead of just selling new products every time. The fact that it's vegan and eco-friendly is a big plus in my book. 1. Price Wow... the price is... really high. Even for a refill, it's quite expensive. Even with discounts, it's still on the pricier side. While it's a good product, it might be difficult to purchase regularly due to the cost. 2. Slipperiness While the foam is nice, it does take a bit longer to rinse off, which is slightly inconvenient. However, the pros definitely outweigh the cons for this product, so this is just a minor gripe. It fits perfectly in Lush containers! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 10, 2022
Scent: As soon as you open the product, you're greeted with an intense centella leaf aroma. While the scent might be polarizing, I personally enjoyed it as it gave the impression of being rich in centella ingredients. Texture: It has a honey-like consistency. When you add even a little water, it lathers up and spreads smoothly. Exfoliation: It feels similar to store-bought exfoliators containing brown sugar or salt. After using the product, your skin feels silky smooth to the touch. On my skin, it felt slightly rough during application, but there was no redness or tingling sensation. As someone with super sensitive skin, the fact that I didn't experience any hives despite it being my first time using this product suggests that the ingredients are very gentle. The lack of packaging is the biggest drawback, but considering the environmental impact, I think it's a compromise worth making. The amount of product seems small for the price, but given that there's no separate container and it's a vegan product, using it up quickly might actually prevent the contents from spoiling. Still, it's quite expensive for a refill. While I'm very keen to repurchase, the price makes me hesitate quite a bit. How to use: 1. Clean the container thoroughly (Boiling is best, but I just washed it and wiped it with an alcohol swab) 2. Fill with the product 3. Apply the product to dry skin after cleansing 4. Wet your hands and gently massage your face to exfoliate (It will lather up at this point) - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinOct 10, 2022
I have super sensitive skin! First off, I was pleased and proud of the eco-friendly packaging that reduces waste. When I opened it, there was a scent that reminded me of herbs, traditional medicine, or something natural - it smelled healthy! I thought it was just for scrubbing, but when I added water, it lathered up nicely! It's great that it exfoliates and cleanses at the same time. After using it, my skin felt smooth and soft! I usually break out in blemishes just from changing skincare products due to my sensitive skin, but this didn't cause any! However, it did irritate my skin... it stung a bit and turned red. While the packaging reduces waste, I felt the amount was a bit much for a single use, which was disappointing. It might be better to store it in a reusable container or use it on both face and body at once! The granules were a bit large... so it irritated my face and I had to scrub very gently, but it still stung and turned red. I don't think I can use it often, maybe once every 1-2 weeks. It has a herbal or traditional medicine scent that might be hit or miss for some people. Using it in a reusable container could help avoid waste. I'm quite satisfied using it on my arms and legs, so I'll probably use it more on my body than my face! I would consider repurchasing this product.
