- Skin type: Extremely oily skin with closed comedones - Application: Despite its name as an 'oil controller', it doesn't have a matte finish as expected. Instead, it feels like applying an essence or emulsion - very smooth and easy to spread over a large area with just a small amount. - Absorption: While it feels moisturizing upon application, it absorbs quickly leaving the skin feeling fresh. - Hydration: Rather than using it alone, I found it works best when applied in small amounts over my usual moisturizer. This maintained hydration without any deep dryness, while still providing a fresh finish. - The bottle's opening is designed for easy and precise product dispensing, which is great. - When used alone as a substitute for moisturizer, it can be drying, living up to its 'oil controller' name. I recommend using it in conjunction with a moisturizer. - Due to its fresh finish, using too much product may cause pilling when applying makeup. Careful control of the amount used is essential. - For best results, apply a small amount to oily areas as the final step of your usual skincare routine. This will help achieve that coveted 'matte outside, hydrated inside' skin finish. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinNov 18, 2022
Combination dehydrated skin/deep dryness/combination/blemishes/blackheads Price: Won through The Hwahae Testers Would repurchase Texture: - Feels like a lightweight hydrating cream Sebum control: - My T-zone produces a lot of oil, causing my forehead to get very shiny by afternoon after applying makeup - After using my basic skincare routine, I applied the Airenol Sebum Controller - Noticed a significant reduction in shininess in the afternoon - May be too drying for those with dry skin (not recommended) - Recommended for oily/combination skin Blemish concerns: - No blemishes or irritation caused by this product If you fail to control the amount, it may cause pilling Personally, I think it's better to use it in the evening rather than in the morning - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinNov 17, 2022
It absorbs well, starting off moisturizing and quickly setting to a soft, matte finish. I didn't particularly feel any dryness, though this might be because I applied the 'sebum controller' to areas that aren't typically dry for me. When I used it as part of my nighttime skincare routine on my usually oily forehead, I woke up with noticeably less oil production than usual. I think it could be really helpful when used under makeup to reduce shine throughout the day and prevent bangs from getting greasy. The product has a strong cosmetic scent which, as someone who dislikes such fragrances, gave me a bit of a headache during use. If you don't apply the right amount, it can feel like there's a film on your skin and may cause pilling. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 16, 2022
It applies smoothly and lightly without feeling oily. I love that it doesn't feel like it's building up thick layers. It definitely lives up to its name. My combination dehydrated skin tends to get oily in the T-zone by afternoon, but this works well even over makeup without being noticeable or causing pilling. The packaging is actually great because the small opening allows for better control of the amount. You can squeeze out a pea-sized amount onto your hand or apply it directly as a spot treatment. The product dispenses evenly, making it easy to use either way. It's a bit too dry for winter use. As I get older, my skin loses its natural oils, and I'm worried about applying makeup in winter as it might cause flaking like dead skin cells. I don't particularly feel an improvement in deep dryness, though I can see they've made an effort. Other products with silicone tend to pill terribly, like dirt coming off the skin. Try applying small amounts over your makeup. Gently pat it in with a puff, and you'll have a quick 5-second touch-up completed. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 15, 2022
The tube packaging is more hygienic than jar-type containers, and with a bit of practice, you can easily control the amount. That's a plus! So far, I haven't experienced any blemishes due to the ingredients. The absorption is decent, and the scent isn't overpowering, making it comfortable to use. The downside is that I'm not sure if the product doesn't suit me or if it doesn't work well with my other skincare products. No matter how I adjust the amount or apply it, it pills terribly. I've tried using it with just my basic skincare routine, without sunscreen, but it still pills. Unfortunately, I can't continue using it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 13, 2022
This product truly lives up to its name as the 'Sebum Controller'! I've tried several skincare products claiming to control oil, but I haven't seen anything as effective as this one. My forehead and nose are particularly oily areas. After applying this to my forehead, it feels incredibly matte. On my nose, it goes from super shiny to just a slight sheen. Usually, when I wake up in the morning, I can feel the oil on my face. But on days when I use the Sebum Controller before bed, my skin feels as if I've just applied a light moisturizer - it's great! I'm amazed at how it manages to control oil! Even with powder, my skin gets oily after 3-4 hours, but this product lasts much longer, which is really satisfying. When applying, it feels like a mix between a primer and a moisturizer. After it's on, my skin feels powdery and fresh, as if I've just applied a setting powder. While applying it to my forehead, I naturally extended it to my temple area, and it started to pill slightly, almost like dead skin cells. It's probably best to apply only a small amount to the necessary areas. The scent is somewhat reminiscent of pore strips - not exactly pleasant, but I didn't mind it too much. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 12, 2022
As someone with very oily skin, I had high hopes for this product, and it truly lived up to its name by controlling oil and leaving a wonderfully matte finish. It doesn't feel like it contains silicone ingredients. The texture is incredibly hydrating yet leaves a fresh finish, which is why I keep using it! The narrow tube opening makes it easy to control the amount dispensed. I also love that I can apply just a small amount to specific areas as needed. I've been using it consistently lately, and I'm thrilled to feel like it's actually reducing my sebum production! While there aren't many downsides, the small size is a bit disappointing considering the price point. As someone sensitive to scents, I wasn't too fond of the slight vitamin-like smell. After application, it leaves a matte finish, but when you rub it, it can pill a bit like dead skin cells, which can be a bit inconvenient to clean up.
