I love the matte pink finish that doesn't show fingerprints, keeping it looking clean and sleek. The puff is incredibly soft and plush. Its pointed tip is great for precisely patting around the nose and eyes. There's a subtle fragrance, but it's not overpowering or off-putting. The cushion applies evenly with a slight pink tint. It goes on moisturizing and dewy, but sets to a soft matte finish. As someone with shade 22 skin, I found that 21 looked too white and 23 too yellow, so I usually just used brightening moisturizer. However, this cushion blends seamlessly into my skin, naturally evening my complexion without looking cakey. It applies thinly and lightly, so my skin doesn't feel suffocated even after hours of wear. Apart from some minor mask transfer, the makeup stays beautiful throughout the day. I only need to gently pat those areas without full touch-ups. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product.
ConsThe puff feels a bit flimsy. You really need to be careful with the amount you use. If you don't apply a thin layer with minimal product, it can make your skin look worse, with odd creasing and severe caking. No matter how carefully you blend and pat, you can still see puff marks. Inevitable mask transfer occurs, but I found it transferred quite a bit on my nose and cheeks, which was annoying every time I took off my mask. While it gives a natural skin-like finish, the coverage is weak. If you prioritize coverage, I'd recommend a different cushion. If you have dry skin, you need to prep your skin really well to avoid patchiness and achieve a nice application. Even if it looks good initially, it can dry out and start to look flaky after a while.

But when applied thinly, it blended well with my skin tone. The formula is very lightweight and semi-matte to matte, which definitely reduced transfer onto my mask. Coverage is medium. The cushion puff is very similar to my go-to Espoir Be Velvet puff! I think this puff really helps apply the product thinly and with good adherence. To me, this Black Rouge Thin Layer Cushion feels like a mix between the Neo Cushion and Espoir Be Velvet. For a wear test, I worked out at the gym for 2 hours. While there was some fading, it seemed to disappear along with any excess oil.
ConsThe fading was a bit disappointing. Be careful of potential pilling.
TipEven with my combination dehydrated skin, it felt a bit dry. Make sure to layer on a solid skincare base before using this.

First off, the packaging is sleek and pink, which looks absolutely gorgeous. It's a sophisticated pink that's not childish, making it compact and beautiful. I love that fingerprints don't show on the package. While black packaging can look luxurious, it often shows fingerprints, but this pink stays clean-looking! This was my first time trying a vegan cushion, and I was excited. As described, it truly feels lightweight. When pressed with the puff, the product spreads evenly, and it applies smoothly on the face, which I really liked. The puff has a soft, suede-like texture that feels springy and firm - it's great! Even after applying multiple thin layers, it doesn't feel heavy, making for a great first impression. The formula has a semi-matte finish that doesn't feel suffocating. Some cushions can feel like they're sitting on top of the skin or feel heavy, but the Velour Cushion doesn't have that issue, which is a big plus. The coverage is good in my opinion. It covers minor blemishes well! However, it's not quite enough for pores - I recommend using a primer and patting it in. As for the shade, I usually go for a bright makeup look, and this is lighter than the usual 21 shade in other cushions! It blends beautifully with my skin, creating a bright, natural look that I really love. The downside for me was that it felt a bit dry, and as time passed, it tended to bunch up and break down a bit around my mouth and cheeks, which was slightly disappointing. Still, being a vegan cushion with many advantages if it suits you, I recommend it! [Pros] 🔹️Lovely packaging 🔹️Soft and firm puff 🔹️Lighter than standard shades, blends naturally with skin 🔹️Good coverage (covers minor imperfections well) 🔹️Not heavy even with multiple layers. Lightweight. Semi-matte finish.
Cons[Cons] 🔸️Insufficient for covering pores 🔸️Lacks moisture for dry skin types 🔸️The black puff easily collects dust 🔸️When it breaks down, it bunches up noticeably around the mouth and nose area
Tip- For dry skin, ensure thorough skincare beforehand - Use after applying primer - Apply in small, controlled amounts

Gorgeous Packaging: The first thing that caught my eye was the case! The exterior is absolutely stunning! It's a pink-red matte, semi-transparent material that's truly a pleasure to carry around. The beautiful packaging instantly boosted my first impression! Firm Cushion: The sponge that holds the foundation liquid is quite firm. This is great because it prevents too much product from being absorbed when you press down, making it easier to control the amount you use. Ruby Cell Puff: The puff is made of Ruby Cell material and is quite soft! I have thicker fingers, but the handle comfortably fits three fingers, making it easy to pat the product on. The black part on top of the puff is also Ruby Cell material, giving it a velvety feel! Beautiful Color: The color itself is a bit light for a #21 shade, but it's a truly neutral and beautiful color - not too pink or too yellow! Application & Coverage: When applied thinly, it spreads evenly! The finish is semi-matte, but you can achieve a glowy look if you apply more skincare products underneath. I received many compliments on my makeup after using this product! The coverage isn't perfect but it's about medium. You can build it up for more coverage, but it's best to apply thin layers for a balance of medium coverage and longevity. Longevity & Touch-ups: Due to my job, I have to wear a mask constantly, but the longevity wasn't bad even with the mask on! It didn't transfer much to the mask or get rubbed off easily. Even if it did get slightly rubbed off, touch-ups were incredibly smooth! I really loved that!
ConsAmount Control is Crucial: While the firm cushion helps with controlling the amount, if you fail to do so, it can be disastrous. Applying it too thickly might increase coverage, but it becomes extremely matte, making your skin look unattractive from the start. When it starts to break down, it's even worse. One day I applied it a bit too thick, and when it started to wear off, it clogged my pores terribly. On days like this, even touch-ups look patchy and unattractive. The key is to apply it thinly! Light Color: I have about a #22 skin tone, so I usually like using #21 products for a brighter look. However, this product is quite bright even for a #21 shade! This might not be a downside for those who prefer lighter colors though. Mirror Protective Film: This isn't a major issue, but removing the protective film from the mirror was a bit difficult. For some reason, it was really stuck on there!

It seems to sink into the skin nicely, and the coverage is decent too! The skin looks natural, and the puff is really fantastic - I'd even consider buying the puff separately!
ConsI have combination dehydrated skin, and my T-zone gets especially oily. Perhaps because of this, the makeup starts breaking down after just an hour or two, and it doesn't look pretty when it does. It gets very shiny, and there's too much excess oil coming through. It doesn't work for me, but it might be good for those with normal to dry skin.

Compared to typical cushions, it's shorter in height but wider. (Similar in size to the Espoir Taping Cushion?) When you open it, there's a film on the mirror with the cutest message - I couldn't resist snapping a photo right away! Coverage: Medium. It doesn't completely conceal blemishes and marks, so those with troubled skin might need to use a separate concealer. (Like all cushions and foundations I've tried, it can't fully hide my intense dark circles...) Application: It applies with a slightly dewy finish, but sets to a semi-matte - not completely matte. (Be sure to control the amount you use!) Skin Reaction: Even though my skin is sensitive to irritation lately, I haven't had any issues with this! Darkening: The darkening is moderate to high, but the complexion longevity is pretty good.
ConsBreakdown: As someone with combination dehydrated to normal-dry skin, I often experience makeup separating, and this cushion is no exception. Over time, my skin feels dry and the product starts to pill, showing noticeable dead skin cells. (To be fair, this happens with all the famous brand cushions I've tried - Cl**, Es**, Jung**, La**, etc. It's just par for the course for me... Those without excessive dead skin cells or quick-drying skin might have better luck with this. Make sure to apply a hydrating base!) Puff: When I first touched the puff, it felt plush and nice, but when applying the product, it seemed to contribute to the semi-matte finish. I wonder if using a more bouncy, elastic puff would make a difference. (The 4th photo shows the product applied with fingers, and just below that, how it looks when patted with the puff.)

Very appealing! Application: It feels moisturizing and spreads evenly! I was a bit worried after reading other reviews mentioning the puff wasn't great, but when I controlled the amount, it applied well. I was satisfied with the puff too. Touch-ups: Even after a long time, when I reapplied it over areas where my makeup had worn off due to my mask, it went on smoothly and moisturized well. It's also great as a touch-up cushion.
ConsMask transfer + Longevity: If I had to pick one disappointing aspect, it would be the longevity! When I first put on my mask after applying makeup, I was satisfied because there was hardly any transfer. However, not long after, almost all of it transferred, which was a bit disappointing. It seemed to break down faster, especially on areas with pores or uneven texture (see the yellow circle in the photo).

My complexion is on the lighter side of shade 21, so I chose the lightest shade of the Thin Layer Velour Cushion. When I apply foundation for work, it provides good coverage but can feel a bit heavy and suffocating. This cushion, however, feels incredibly light with none of those issues! I've been using Clio cushions for years when I needed a light makeup look, but this product has won me over enough to make the switch. It adheres thinly and evenly to the skin, and even in winter, it doesn't feel dry when applied over a good base! I'm also satisfied with how little it transfers onto my mask. The third photo shows my mask after wearing it to work until lunchtime!
ConsAfter a few hours, oil does start to come through around the nose area, and it can break down a bit due to mask-wearing. Also, as expected with cushions, you can't expect incredible coverage - it won't cover acne scars.
TipAfter applying toner or skin, I use NATURE REPUBLIC's moisturizer, let it absorb, then apply this cushion very thinly! The thinner you apply it, the better it seems to adhere to the skin. In my case, I only tap the puff once into the product, then start applying from both cheeks and forehead, gradually spreading outwards in a very thin layer.

Product: The case is pink, semi-transparent, and matte, which makes it incredibly pretty. When I first opened it, I loved the slightly cool, soap-like scent. Color: I usually use shade 21. Although my slightly yellow undertone and redness around my nose and scars don't typically suit yellow-based products, I was pleased with how this made my face look brighter and improved my complexion! Coverage/Longevity: For a thin application, it seems to cover scars and uneven areas well. After about 5 hours, I could see it starting to break down a bit.
ConsThe downside is that because I have oily skin, the breakdown isn't particularly attractive. While product amount control is tricky at first, you get used to it with practice. I think it might be a bit challenging to cover darker scars completely.

It also does a decent job covering my freckles. Perfect for busy mornings when you need to quickly apply makeup for a nice skin finish.
ConsThere's a bit of transfer. It's brighter than I expected. Unfortunately, it doesn't wear off gracefully.
TipI think it would be great to boost coverage and longevity by pairing it with a concealer and powder!
