The Hwahae process can be skipped, and double cleansing is not necessary, making it convenient and comfortable. It does not pull or irritate. The pore cleansing and exfoliation are almost completely ineffective. Therefore, I also need other cleansers such as enzymes or scrubs, so I feel like I've wasted some money.^ Depending on the intended use, they could be good or disappointing. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJan 29, 2025
This is a great entry-level product for men who struggle with removing sunscreen. It also effectively removes excess sebum. Since it doesn't manage sebum as well as cleansing oils, I recommend using a cleansing oil once a week. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 14, 2023
I think I've finally found a cleansing product I really like after a long time. I've tried all the famous cleansing oils, but I might switch to this one now. *Texture: It has a very rich gel texture. When you massage it on your face, the clear gel turns white. The gel is pleasantly thick, so it feels gentle and non-irritating when applying it to your face! *Cleansing effectiveness: It removes mineral sunscreen, foundation, everything really well. It feels gentle yet thorough, so you might not even need to follow up with a cleansing foam. *Scent: I didn't notice any fragrance. One downside is that it doesn't seem to remove excess sebum as effectively as cleansing oils do, which was one of the reasons I used them. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 13, 2023
Skin type: Combination dehydrated, sensitive, blemish-prone (with whiteheads and pustules), and post-acne marks Pros: 1. Cleansing effectiveness On days without plans, I only apply sunscreen. While I haven't tested it with other base products, it seems sufficient for removing just sunscreen. I used to do a two-step cleanse with cleansing milk followed by a foam cleanser, but this product cleans thoroughly enough as a single-step cleanser, which is great. 2. Non-greasy finish Usually, many low pH cleansers nowadays leave a characteristic slippery residue after washing, but this product neither feels slippery nor squeaky clean - it's just right in between. Yet it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry, which is nice. 3. Fragrance-free Personally, I dislike artificial fragrances in cosmetics, especially cleansers, so I appreciate that this is unscented. It's not completely scentless, there's a faint scent that seems to come from the ingredients, but it's not bothersome. 1. Sebum control While cleansing oils or milks naturally seem to manage sebum as you use them, this product doesn't appear to control sebum at all. The more I use it, the more noticeable my blackheads become. Since it doesn't manage sebum and makes blackheads more noticeable, I actually use this to my advantage! Once or twice a week, after cleansing with this product, I use a cleansing oil or balm to focus on rolling the blackhead-prone areas. The blackheads that became more visible actually come out more easily this way! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 1, 2023
I was excited to try this product after seeing the ad, and I'm thrilled to have won it through The Hwahae Testers! I'll definitely repurchase when I run out. Cleansing effectiveness: It's often a hassle to do a double cleanse for makeup removal, which wastes a lot of water. But this product removes everything cleanly with just one wash - that's amazing! Extensive skin testing: Knowing it's passed various tests like the German dermatest, dermatologist tests, and allergy tests makes me feel even more confident using it. Convenience: I used to find it bothersome having to double cleanse even when just wearing mineral sunscreen, but with this illiyoon product, one cleanse is enough! Texture: It felt a bit stiff on dry skin, but the instructions say it can be used on damp face or hands. Trying that made application much smoother. I'm also sensitive to scents and was worried after seeing reviews mentioning an unpleasant smell, but I actually like the subtle floral fragrance! Packaging: The packaging design is sleek and pretty, and it's recyclable too, which is great! As someone with oily skin, I find it doesn't remove sebum as effectively as cleansing oils, which is a bit disappointing. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 1, 2023
The product name 'Water Foam' made me think it would have a runny texture, but it's actually thicker than expected. This makes it feel a bit stiff when rolling it on the face. I usually only wear mineral sunscreen and a bit of concealer, and this cleanser removes them completely without needing a second cleanse! I haven't tried it with color makeup, but personally, I'm satisfied with its cleansing effectiveness. It used to be such a hassle to apply cleansing oil, emulsify, and then follow up with foam for a second cleanse. This product makes it possible to do it all in one step, which is so convenient. It's also great for mornings - you can just add water and use it as a foam cleanser. Perfect! After use, my skin doesn't feel overly tight, and I haven't experienced any blemishes. I'm not sure if it's just me, but if even a tiny bit gets into my eyes, it stings terribly... It doesn't seem to do anything for managing excess oil. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 1, 2023
Skin type: - Combination dehydrated skin - Large pores with many blackheads - Sensitive to irritation My usual makeup routine consists of sunscreen, foundation, makeup fixer, and powder. I typically use cleansing oil, and occasionally cleansing milk or cleansing water. Since I have a lot of blackheads and sebum, I've been using cleansing oil for a long time as it seems to work best for me. I was really curious about the texture of this cleansing water foam, and after trying it, I'd say it's more like a cleansing gel. It has a thick, transparent gel texture that produces a lot of foam when it comes into contact with water. The scent is like that of surfactants - it seems to be the natural scent of the ingredients without any artificial fragrances. You can use about 4-5 pumps, gently massage it onto your face, and after a minute, add a little water to create foam and rinse it off. I like that it cleanses quite thoroughly even without a second cleanse. After cleansing, my skin feels moisturized without any tightness. The texture is too thick, and as you massage it on your face, it becomes white and pasty, which feels more irritating. You need to do some rolling to remove makeup, but as I rubbed it, my skin started to feel a bit sore. There's an inexplicable ambiguity... It seems the selling points don't quite match for those with combination dehydrated skin. It doesn't seem to remove sebum effectively, and I even got some small blemishes. While this product might be disappointing for oily skin types, it could be a good fit for those with dry skin who wear light makeup! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 27, 2023
Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin with small blemishes, redness, sensitivity Texture: It starts as a flowing oil, but when you roll it on your face, it transforms into a white foam, almost like salt rising, giving a gel-like feel as it's applied Scent: Didn't notice any particular fragrance Irritation: Even on my super sensitive skin, I didn't feel any irritation. However, when it accidentally got into my eyes while removing eye makeup, it suddenly made my eyes water... Effectiveness: It thoroughly removed full face makeup (except mascara)! After cleansing and washing my face, there was hardly any slippery residue, which was great as it meant I didn't need to do a second cleanse. However, during the rolling and cleansing process, the product texture changes from an oil to a gel, becoming slightly sticky. This made me wonder if it was actually removing makeup effectively. Unfortunately, due to its gel-like consistency, it didn't seem to roll away blackheads around the nose or facial sebum, which was personally disappointing. While I had some reservations based on my personal criteria, I would still recommend this product if you're looking for a gentle, simple makeup remover. This was my first time using a water-to-foam cleanser, and the most disappointing aspect was that it didn't remove sebum or blackheads as effectively as an oil cleanser. I was also disappointed that it stung when it got into my eyes. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAug 27, 2023
When it comes to cleansing, I believe the most important factor is how effective it actually is. With the recent trend of oil-to-foam cleansers, I've tried several brands, and here's why Illiyoon stands out: 1. Illiyoon has the best cleansing power among those I've tried. 2. The citrus scent is pleasant and not overpowering. 3. Despite my extremely oily skin that gets visibly greasy, this low pH cleanser leaves my skin feeling refreshed and thoroughly cleansed. 4. Being low pH, it's gentle on the skin and suitable for all skin types. 5. Unlike some oil-to-foam cleansers, it doesn't have a runny consistency. 6. It's affordable and produces rich foam with just a small amount, making it great value for money. I stocked up during an Olive Young sale shortly after its release. 7. Although it's low pH, it cleanses thoroughly without leaving my skin feeling tight or dry afterwards. 8. Personal preference, but I love the packaging design and the reasonable price point. 1. Contrary to the ads, it's unrealistic to expect Illiyoon alone to remove all makeup completely. When I used only Illiyoon after wearing powder makeup, some residue remained. 2. It stings quite badly if it gets into your eyes. 3. It's not particularly effective at removing blackheads or sebum. 1. For best results, use Illiyoon morning and night, and exfoliate once a week. Your skin will have a beautiful glow! 2. Although it's an oil-to-foam cleanser, I skip the oil step. I just pump it 3 times directly into the foam maker and use it that way. 3. For makeup removal, I recommend using a cleansing water first, then following up with Illiyoon. This method removes makeup thoroughly with minimal skin irritation. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 27, 2023
I usually wear mineral sunscreen, Lancôme Teint Idole foundation, and waterproof mascara. I was really excited to try this product since it claims to remove foundation, cushion, and sunscreen all at once. In conclusion, I think it would be great for those who wear light makeup or sunscreen, and for those who get blemishes from using oil cleansers. First off, there's no added fragrance, but it has that typical dermatological product scent from the ingredients themselves. The texture is gel-like with some viscosity, closer to a gel than a water cleanser. It doesn't drip off your hands, making it easy to apply to your face. It lathers up well when you add water. It's convenient since you don't need to double cleanse or emulsify, and your skin feels hydrated after cleansing. There's a slight drag when rolling it on your face. Maybe because it's mildly acidic, but I didn't feel like it thoroughly cleansed away all the sebum. While it's unscented, the natural smell isn't quite to my liking.
