I ran out of my usual cleansing water from another brand, so I decided to try COSRX for the first time. Honestly, it feels like all cleansing waters are pretty much the same. This one has decent cleansing effectiveness, and thanks to its water-based formula, it feels light and leaves my skin feeling fresh after rinsing. They advertise that it contains niacinamide to control excess sebum, but I'm not sure how effective that can be when you're just wiping it off and rinsing immediately. It doesn't remove waterproof or heavy eye makeup very well, so you'll need to use a separate lip and eye makeup remover. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 11, 2025
I've gone through two bottles of this set. I frequently use cleansing water as my first cleansing step, and this product is incredibly gentle on the skin while effectively removing makeup. Some products can sting when used around the eyes, but this one doesn't. My skin feels comfortable, and I haven't experienced any blemishes from using it. It doesn't seem to remove point makeup thoroughly. For eye makeup, I'd recommend using a separate lip and eye remover. If you find cotton pads irritating to your skin, try using this product with a foam maker. To thoroughly remove sunscreen and base makeup, I recommend following up with a foam cleanser as a second step. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 9, 2025
I used this for about 6 months, and I'd say its cleansing effectiveness is average. What disappointed me was the irritation I felt on my cheeks, and it also stung my eyes. It didn't seem to remove waterproof products effectively. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinJan 25, 2025
It's gentle, non-greasy, and easy to use. It cleanses well without causing any irritation. As expected, it doesn't remove heavy mascara or eyeliner effectively, so you'll need to double cleanse. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2024
To be honest, I couldn't find any positives. I had high hopes because it's a COSRX product, but I'm terribly disappointed. It only removes base makeup and lipstick well. Glitter and mascara absolutely won't budge, even after trying to dissolve them for ages. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 26, 2024
I switched to this cleansing water because my previous one was too harsh on my eyes. While some reviews mentioned eye irritation, I'm personally very satisfied with it. It's definitely less irritating than oil-based cleansers and feels refreshing to use, which I love. The large volume is a plus, and I plan to repurchase when I run out. Since I don't wear heavy makeup, it usually removes most things well. However, on rare occasions when I apply heavier eye makeup, it struggles to remove products like mascara completely. In those cases, I need to do a thorough double cleanse. As others have mentioned, using this with a foam pump bottle for cleansing is much better than using cotton pads! When using the foam pump method, make sure to apply it on a dry face without any water for the best results! - Hwahae UserDry SkinMay 4, 2024
It's really hydrating and gentle on the skin for cleansing! Using the foam dispenser they provided and rolling it on the skin is truly non-irritating and cleanses effectively! There's nothing to complain about! Of course, it's best to use dedicated removers for mascara, waterproof eyeliner, and long-lasting lip products. However, it works well for removing eyeshadow, base makeup, and sunscreen! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 1, 2024
Overall, it feels moisturizing, cost-effective, and gentle. It helps manage dead skin cells and is comfortable to use without any burden. I recommend this for light makeup or sunscreen application, as it may leave residue with mascara or heavy makeup, especially eye makeup. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 20, 2024
This cleanser effectively removes makeup without any irritation! I've often experienced dryness after using cleansing waters, but this product doesn't dry out my skin at all. That's what I love most about it! It might not completely remove heavy-duty waterproof products. When you're feeling lazy, cleansing water is a real lifesaver! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 17, 2024
Why I bought it: As I wear makeup daily, I needed to double cleanse every night. I used to use oil-based products for my first cleanse. However, I stumbled upon a YouTube video that explained how using cleansing oils daily can be harmful to the skin and potentially damage the skin barrier. I've been stressed about frequent skin flare-ups and blemishes, so I wondered if cleansing oil might be the culprit. I quickly switched to a cleansing water. Apparently, it's better to use water-based cleansers and work them into a lather instead of oils! Luckily, COSRX was selling this product with a foam dispenser, so I snatched it up right away. And wow... my skin changed dramatically as soon as I switched to cleansing water! My butterfly zone and forehead were always inflamed with dozens of tiny blemishes and lots of dead skin cells, but these issues have remarkably decreased. I wish I had switched sooner! I have dry and super sensitive skin, and this cleanser seems gentle and effective. The scent is very subtle, almost non-existent, and it doesn't irritate my eyes much. I'm extremely satisfied! The cleansing effectiveness is definitely lower compared to oil cleansers. When I use it as a foam cleanser, it easily removes base makeup, eyeshadow, and lipstick. However, it struggles with eyeliner, and especially mascara - it barely removes them at all. But since I usually wear light, daily makeup without eyeliner or mascara, it works well for me! On days when I wear heavy eye makeup, I soak a cotton pad with the cleansing water, press it gently against my eyes, then wipe off - it works well this way. When using the foam dispenser, it's best to cleanse on dry skin for better cleansing effectiveness. I noticed it doesn't work as well if your face is wet.
