Doesn't cake up easily Fades gracefully throughout the day Touching up isn't really necessary The cushion and the product keep separating It's too yellow and dark, so the shade didn't match my complexion - make sure to test it before buying The coverage is poor - doesn't conceal blemishes at all - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJan 18, 2025
The sponge-free matte mesh design really makes a difference - I felt like I got a generous amount of product. The built-in puff is high quality, and the coverage is excellent. The shade is quite disappointing. It has a strong yellow undertone and even a slightly ashy cast. The darkening effect is really severe - when I apply it in the morning and look in the mirror at night, it seems even darker than my bare skin. The staying power is low, so touch-ups are a must. Despite being a matte cushion, it gets very oily after just 3 hours. My friend even asked if I was wearing a glowy foundation! The SPF is lower compared to other cushions, and the compact itself is a bit large. Also, the refill keeps separating from the cushion case. - Hwahae UserDry SkinNov 19, 2024
While everyone was raving about the Hince Glow, I opted for the Matte Pick! This matte formula is like a hidden gem. It applies evenly and makes your skin look flawless. Since it's a mesh net, the key is to control the amount, but one puff application can cover your entire face. The overall yellow base creates a more subdued complexion. It's especially great for summer when your skin tends to get red and oily, making everything look neat. I'm definitely considering repurchasing for next summer. Another plus is that it layers well for touch-ups. Even in the afternoon, I could gently wipe with a pad and reapply without caking, or just touch up directly (as long as I didn't overdo the powder). Despite its appearance, it doesn't dry out my skin underneath, which is why I prefer this formula. The color is a bit yellow. Shade 21 looks yellow and dark on my skin. It's funny because my skin gets even paler in winter, but this foundation stands out as yellow just where I apply it. Next time, I'm planning to try shade 15 with a rosy undertone. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 28, 2024
This is truly a holy grail product! I've tried Cl*o and Ne*s Ming, among others, but they were just okay... This one, however, I've been using since last summer and have already gone through nearly 10 compacts. In winter, it works well with a more thorough skincare routine, and in summer, it doesn't cake even with minimal prep. Touch-ups are also a breeze! Since the base itself has a yellow undertone, it doesn't dramatically brighten your skin. I wouldn't recommend it for those looking for a very fair finish. It applies smoothly even with just toner and serum, without much pilling! However, for best results, apply thin layers of serum, pat it in to absorb, then apply the cushion. This method helps it adhere to the skin beautifully for a flawless finish. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 18, 2024
The skin finish is fantastic. It matches my skin tone perfectly, so I don't even need to apply it to my neck. The color is so close to my natural complexion that I didn't notice any darkening. The adherence is terrible. The color is a bit too yellow. It's difficult to control the amount. It clings to all areas with peach fuzz. Sometimes it cracks when my skin is dry. - Hwahae UserOily SkinMay 5, 2024
It felt moisturizing when applied and the coverage wasn't bad at all The color had a yellowish tint and there was some darkening, which was disappointing - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinFeb 12, 2024
This is my first time trying a mesh cushion, and I'm quite impressed! It applies thinly, has great staying power, and I'm really enjoying using it. While the puff isn't great, the cushion itself seems pretty good. I heard many reviews saying that shade 21 was a bit dark, and they were right! Compared to other shade 21 cushions I've used before, this one definitely seems more yellow and darker... I strongly recommend swatching it on your hand at Olive Young before purchasing. Also, the puff is quite stiff, so I've been using a water drop puff instead! If you dampen the water drop puff before use, you can apply the product much more thinly and achieve a more hydrated finish! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJan 29, 2024
Coverage - The coverage is surprisingly good! I thought Hince would have almost no coverage, but it evens out my complexion beautifully. And the pore coverage is amazing! Adherence - I initially thought the adherence might be lacking, but after wearing a mask, there was minimal transfer. It's not completely transfer-proof, but it's quite good! Skin appearance - This product truly gives a smooth and flawless finish. Thanks to its great coverage, my blemish marks were barely noticeable and looked fine. I got shade 21, but it was a bit yellow. When applied, it looked slightly darker and more yellow than my skin tone. The application and finish are not bad for a matte cushion, but if you don't have a solid skincare base, it can break down unattractively and be difficult to touch up. I recommend applying a thorough skincare routine, then using small amounts of the product evenly across the face for the best results! - Hwahae UserDry SkinJan 26, 2024
First impression: The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, sophisticated, and clean-looking. I first learned about Hince after hearing about their balm. When I saw a Hince product in an event application, I quickly signed up. I missed that it was a matte cushion though... And I have quite dry skin, oh no! I've always used dewy cushions, so I was wondering why this one felt so dry. But when I went to write the review, I realized it was a matte cushion, oops! This would be perfect for those with oily skin. The coverage is excellent. Thanks to the mesh, it applies very precisely. Even a tiny amount covers the whole face. It leaves a powdery finish (As someone with dry skin, I'll put this away for winter and try it again in summer - winter is too challenging). While shade 21 is usually my color, this one seems darker than other 21 shades. There's a slight yellow undertone. Cool-toned folks might need to go up a shade. It's far too drying for dry skin types. I haven't found the perfect combination for application yet. It tends to clump when applied (probably due to its matte nature - other reviews suggest patting it on instead of swiping). For dry skin, it's absolutely essential to apply a hydrating product as a base before using this. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 19, 2024
As a fan of glowy bases, here's my review as someone with extremely dry skin: Texture: Being a matte cushion, it goes on quite thick and matte. For someone with clumsy hands like me, controlling the amount is challenging, so it takes time to perfect the base. Feel: True to its matte and yellow-based nature, it offers great coverage. Despite my extremely dry skin, it doesn't feel tight. I'd recommend this to dry-skinned folks who like a powder-fresh finish, but it's really more suitable for oily skin types. Those with oily skin will likely achieve a beautiful skin finish. I'm not sure if it's because of my dry skin, but it tends to settle into fine lines around the eyes, smile lines, and mouth (quite noticeably). Pore coverage is average to below average. Ingredients: I have sensitive skin, but this didn't cause any blemishes. I haven't worn it for a full day yet, so I'll update my review after extended use. In a nutshell: Recommended for those with oily skin... haha... Not recommended for those who prefer a radiant complexion, as it has a yellow base. Not recommended for those with less makeup skills or those who want an effortlessly beautiful finish, as controlling the amount of product is challenging. Definitely not recommended for extremely dry skin types. If you have dry skin like me, you'll need to be extra thorough with your skincare routine before applying this.
