The day the product arrived, I happened to have a blemish pop up, so I was able to take before and after shots. The texture is moisturizing and applies smoothly. I'm usually sensitive to fragrances and prefer unscented products, but this one felt so neutral that I had no aversion to using it. I even put my nose right up to it for a sniff - there's a very subtle scent, but it's pleasant and not overwhelming. As you can see in the photos, in the last picture it's almost impossible to find where the blemish mark was. I can confidently say this product works! Compared to my usual product, this one has a smaller quantity but a slightly higher price. The centella extract is 0.1% higher, but the amount is nearly half... While it's effective and a little goes a long way as seen in the photos, so it should last a while, I'm a bit disappointed with the price point. There's not much of a tip to share. Just apply it consistently until the blemish disappears. I usually apply it once in the evening on weekdays, and in the morning as well on weekends. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 21, 2024
• Texture The gel-like consistency isn't runny, making it perfect for applying on blemishes! It's not sticky either, so it feels comfortable on the skin. • Scent I didn't notice any particular fragrance, which made it easy to use! I'm quite sensitive to scents, but this didn't bother me at all. Most people should be able to use it without any issues. • Performance When applied to early-stage blemishes before bed, I noticed visible improvement by morning! Unfortunately, it wasn't as effective on already pigmented or popped blemishes. It gives a cooling sensation when applied, which feels soothing rather than painful - very pleasant! I think this would work wonders for those dealing with early-stage blemishes. It wasn't very effective on older or more severe blemishes. For best results, apply a generous layer on newly formed blemishes before going to bed! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 20, 2024
- The texture feels much lighter and less thick than typical ointments - It doesn't aggravate existing blemishes or cause new ones where applied - There's a subtle herbal scent, possibly from Centella, but it's not unpleasant (unlike the strong, peculiar smell of some Centella toners) - It's comforting to have this as an emergency spot treatment when you feel a big pimple coming on - Didn't see much effect on small bumps during the usage period, though I didn't experience any major blemishes to test it on - Slight pilling when applying sunscreen or foundation over it - For those dealing with small bumps, using AHA for dead skin cell removal and focusing on hydration might be more effective Recommend applying this long before makeup or the night before. It seems more suited for larger, inflamed pimples or emerging whiteheads rather than small bumps (appears to be designed specifically for bigger blemishes, not small bumps) - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMay 20, 2024
The texture is somewhere between a hydrating cream and an ointment - not thick like an ointment, but closer to a moisturizer with just a hint of ointment-like consistency. The scent isn't unpleasant; it has that typical cosmetic fragrance often found in acne spot treatments. It's very comfortable to use. It applies smoothly, and I didn't experience any irritation or blemishes after application. It's easy to manage as you only need to apply a small amount to areas where blemishes are appearing. There's no discomfort after application. I felt a slight soothing effect when applied to troubled areas. I often get large, hard pimples on my chin, and this product wasn't very effective for that type of acne. As mentioned in the instructions, don't apply it to blemishes right after popping them! It will sting! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 19, 2024
I'm a fan of centella scents, so I really appreciated that this one smells fresh and natural, not artificial at all. But don't worry, it's not overpowering! As a spot treatment, I love that you can easily squeeze out just the right amount. The gel-like texture, rather than being thick and heavy, makes it easy to apply lightly. It felt soothing when I put it on after squeezing a blemish. While it might not work miracles for scars, it seems to prevent further breakouts. Unfortunately, when I developed a hard, swollen blemish, I applied this for four days straight and didn't notice any changes. It was disappointing to see that it didn't seem effective on newly forming inflammations. The formula can cause makeup to pill, so it's best to avoid using it before applying base makeup. For optimal results, try applying it in the evening or before bed. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 19, 2024
Review from The Hwahae Testers: 1. Finish I usually don't prefer ointments due to their sticky feel, but this product has a refreshing texture that feels light as soon as you apply it. 2. Effectiveness In my case, I saw significant improvement on acne scars. While I'm too embarrassed to share photos, the scars have noticeably faded. I highly recommend this for those dealing with back acne or facial acne discoloration! 3. Scent It doesn't have an artificial fragrance. Instead, it has a medicinal scent typical of pharmaceutical products. The price is a bit disappointing. Although it's a spot treatment and you're supposed to use small amounts, the cream texture makes you tend to apply more than expected. Highly recommended for back acne, facial acne, and discoloration!
