Between hydration and moisture I never used barrier creams thinking they'd be heavy, but I tried this light version. At first, I thought it might sit on the skin, but surprisingly it absorbed quickly. The texture is described as whipped cream, which is spot on. It's somehow fluffy and unique? For combination dehydrated skin, it seems perfect as a transitional season cream with the right balance of hydration and moisture. 2. Hygiene I usually prefer tubes over jars for convenience, but this product comes with a built-in spatula, making it hygienic to use, which I really appreciate.
Cons1. Fragrance The scent might be divisive - it's a strong, artificial forest smell? Kind of a plant-like cosmetic scent, which I personally disliked. However, I'm not so sensitive to fragrances that it would stop me from using a product, so I can adapt to it. 2. Texture While the texture is a plus when spreading it, when first rolling it on your face for absorption, it feels a bit strange? Not necessarily bad, just unfamiliar. It's more that I'm not used to the texture yet rather than it being a real drawback.
Tip*My skin type My skin tends to be dry during seasonal changes or in dry weather, but gets quite oily in the afternoon. Likely combination dehydrated skin. -I haven't used it for long, so I'm not sure about its effectiveness, but I've heard that barrier care is especially important during seasonal transitions. If you've avoided barrier creams like me, worried they might feel too oily or heavy, this light version might be worth trying. I've been using it diligently lately with high hopes, as I've learned that excessive oil production can sometimes be due to a compromised skin barrier.

It's so lightweight that you can use it morning and night without feeling burdened. It also applies smoothly without any stickiness, which I really appreciated. Advantage 2: Hygienic use I loved that it comes with a spatula for hygienic application. The spatula is sized to fit inside the container, making storage convenient. Advantage 3: Jar or tube packaging The product I received came in a jar, along with a travel-friendly tube version. The small tube is perfect for trips! I noticed this product is available in both jar and tube formats, so you can choose whichever packaging suits you best.
ConsDrawback 1: Scent The fragrance might be divisive. It has a sort of herbal scent that feels artificial to me. Personally, I wasn't a fan! Drawback 2: Short spatula While it's great that the spatula can be stored inside the container, I found it a bit too short for comfortable use. I wish it were slightly longer.
TipPro tip: Apply lightly all over before makeup! I found that applying a thin, light layer before makeup keeps your look fresh all day without any separation. The lightweight formula definitely helps your makeup adhere well without pilling or sliding off.

It absorbs quickly and isn't sticky, which is great. It's not overly thick but rather light, so it feels weightless and can be applied without any burden. Since it didn't suit my face, I'm using it as a body cream! When applied to the body, it provides good hydration and leaves the skin feeling moisturized, which is nice.
ConsThe scent is a bit sharp? It has a chemical smell, which was disappointing. After using it for about two days, my face started to itch and became irritated, so I had to stop using it. I guess it didn't agree with my skin... Once I discontinued use, my skin improved again. It might be because my skin is super sensitive and quite delicate.
TipIf it doesn't suit your face, you can use it as a body cream, and it works well on the body.

Characteristics: When applied, this product absorbs well and has a great texture. I was worried it might feel sticky due to its slightly heavy consistency, but it wasn't sticky at all, which I appreciated. I loved how it made my skin feel firm and how well it adhered. Even when I woke up in the morning, my skin still felt hydrated, which was great. I have combination dehydrated skin that tends to get oily quickly when it's dry. With this product, I was pleased that my T-zone didn't become oily rapidly. Ingredients: The ingredients list gave me peace of mind. Many creams tend to cause a tingling sensation when applied to the philtrum area, but this one didn't, so I found myself reaching for it often.
ConsScent: I was trying to figure out what the scent was like - it's similar to a medicinal ointment or herbal fragrance. The scent lingers subtly rather than disappearing after application. It's not overpowering, but those sensitive to fragrances should take note.
TipApplying a thin layer before makeup helps prevent your foundation from pilling.

Hydration: It provides a deeply moisturizing feeling, noticeably improving skin dryness. 2. Balanced richness: Being a light formula, it's not overly rich, making it perfect as a summer moisturizer. 3. Absorbs well: Unlike many creams that sit on the surface, this one absorbs nicely. It's also less sticky, which is a plus.
Cons1. Scent: The fragrance is slightly reminiscent of herbs or traditional medicine, which might not be to everyone's liking.
TipThis cream works hard when used with skincare devices, effectively replenishing moisture.

I heard they released a lighter version of their heavier cream, which seemed perfect for autumn use. I didn't have high expectations initially, but the application surprised me! It goes on incredibly smooth and moisturizing, absorbing just enough to prevent dryness - ideal for combination dehydrated skin. Immediately after applying, you can feel your skin becoming firmer. It's quite remarkable! I used to use Aestura 365 Cream in the fall, but since it comes in capsules, I only applied it at night. Real Barrier seems perfect for use before makeup as well.
ConsWhile I prioritize performance over scent in skincare products, there is a slight medicinal smell. This probably means it contains fewer fragrances.

Many YouTube-recommended moisturizers for combination dehydrated skin either feel hydrating only when applied but quickly evaporate, or they're unexpectedly heavy and make my skin oily after just two hours. However, this cream and Atobarrier strike the perfect balance. It provides good hydration, and above all, I love how its smooth texture feels when applied, giving a sense of evening out the skin texture.
ConsThere aren't many downsides, but if you're sensitive to scents, it's worth noting that the fragrance isn't particularly pleasant. In fact, it has a slightly chemical, sharp smell.
TipFor nighttime use, try mixing this cream with The Ordinary's retinol for even better results.

I tried a sample and it had that perfect emulsion feel. It's lighter than a cream, living up to its name. It didn't cause any blemishes, and since it's not overly rich, it absorbed nicely into my skin.
ConsThe scent! When I first applied it, I was taken aback. It has this strange, sharp medicinal or menthol-like smell that really bothered me. I'm definitely not a fan of the fragrance, so I'm deducting a star for that. Even after it was fully absorbed, I could still smell it on my face. While the product seems effective since it didn't cause any issues, that scent is just too much for me.

The way it absorbs is absolutely incredible - it's like I want to eat whipped cream! Compared to other creams, it definitely feels less rich. It really helps with deep dryness. It's great for daily use and doesn't cause pilling under makeup.
ConsI was hoping this wouldn't happen, but a few blemishes decided to make an appearance. There's a very faint scent that's a bit peculiar, almost like plastic. Those with sensitive skin might find it bothersome.

Honestly, if a product doesn't cause blemishes, I consider it 80% successful, with other benefits being secondary. That's just how I roll! So, from the perspective of someone who values blemish prevention above all else, here's my overall impression of the Double Barrier Extreme Cream Light: ● No blemishes! Fantastic! I applied it generously morning and night for nearly a week. Initially, I thought I saw a tiny bump or two, but as my skin adapted, they disappeared by day two. No major breakouts or irritation at all. I was sold on this point alone! ● Perfect hydration for combination/oily skin True to its 'Light' name, it's not overly rich. After application, there's no greasy feeling or slipperiness - it leaves a soft, matte finish. Despite its opaque, white, firm texture, I was pleasantly surprised by how non-greasy it felt. It's ideal for those with oily skin who dislike a slick finish. ● Fast absorption without sitting on the skin! We all know skincare takes time, but it's frustrating when products take forever to sink in, right? This cream absorbs quite quickly. After spreading it on and gently patting, it soaks right in, leaving no residue. It feels like it creates a perfect moisture barrier on the skin. Overall, I'm very satisfied with how this product performs. While most cosmetics these days are pretty decent, finding one that doesn't cause breakouts can still be a challenge. If you have oily to combination sensitive skin and are looking for a cream with a soft, matte finish, I think you'll be happy with this one!
ConsThe scent is a bit like a mix of grass and rubbing alcohol - kind of a clinical smell. Unfortunately, this fragrance lingers on the face longer than expected and remains quite strong. If you're sensitive to scents or dislike this medicinal, herbal aroma, you might find it off-putting.
