The transparent gel formula is studded with tiny capsules. I loved that there's barely any noticeable scent. It absorbs exceptionally well, leaving a light and fresh finish. Perhaps due to the alcohol content, it gives a slightly cooling sensation when applied. After application, my skin feels deeply hydrated, as if it's brimming with moisture. The texture feels more like a soothing gel or serum rather than a cream. It's too lightweight, with a formula that allows the hydration to evaporate quickly. As time passes after application, areas like the forehead tend to dry out, leading to a feeling of deep dryness. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinJun 28, 2024
My skin type is dry in winter but combination dehydrated in summer, with pores, redness, and excess sebum. I also have atopic dermatitis, so my skin barrier is thin and somewhat sensitive. I knew about the famous blue Laneige Water Bank, but I was curious about the new oily skin version. I'm glad I got the chance to try it! The scent is a subtle mix of herbs and soda, perfect for summer - refreshing without being polarizing. The texture is true to a gel cream, full of hydration, similar to a soothing or aqua cream - transparent and moderately fluid. I was intrigued by the visible particles, but they dissolve well and absorb easily without any roughness. Despite being a gel cream, it has a great balance of moisture and richness. It's my first time using a hyaluronic acid product, and while I was worried about stickiness based on some reviews, I found it fine! It feels firm at first but quickly absorbs with great adherence. It creates a thin moisture barrier, like an 'egg-shell skin', which I'm really satisfied with! I didn't notice a strong cooling effect, possibly because I kept it at room temperature, but it remained non-sticky over time. It's perfect for combination dehydrated skin with deep dryness, and even dry skin types could enjoy its freshness in summer. I love it so much that I'll definitely repurchase! I experienced some minor blemishes when I first started using it, but my skin always needs time to adapt. Now I don't have any irritation at all. The spatula that comes with it is a bit awkward to store. The price per volume is quite high, so repurchasing might be a burden. I hope for some big discounts! They sell refills separately, so let's protect our environment! If you store it in the fridge, you'll feel the cooling effect better, and it can soothe summer-heated, flushed skin. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinJun 28, 2024
I had a good experience with Laneige's blue jar cream before, so I was excited to apply for The Hwahae Testers this time! The ingredients seem great - no blemishes, no tingling sensation. When it comes to creams, I prioritize skin barrier protection, and this barrier cream is absolutely fantastic. It has little beads that give a nice massaging feel, but it's not irritating at all - they're cooling capsules, apparently. The scent is very subtle, almost undetectable, which I like. As it's a gel cream for oily skin, it absorbs quickly while still feeling incredibly hydrating. I think it might work well for dry skin too. I'm not sure about the cooling effect... These days, when I apply it in the morning before going out, it feels like sweat, especially around the philtrum area. It's not great to apply when your skin is damp. You know those creams that make you feel sweaty? Especially the thinner ones? This seems to be one of those, so I can't use it before makeup. Recommended for seasons other than summer - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 28, 2024
☆ Design First off, the packaging design caught my eye - it's absolutely gorgeous! The square container is quite unique, not your typical round shape. I love the satisfying 'click' sound when opening and closing the lid. Texture The cream has a watery consistency with tiny particles, but interestingly, you can barely feel them when applying. This makes it gentle and non-irritating on the skin, which is fantastic. Scent While not completely fragrance-free, the scent is subtle and pleasant, making it easy to use. Ingredients The only cautionary ingredient is fragrance, and from my experience, it didn't cause any irritation on my skin. Cooling effect There's a slight cooling sensation when you apply it, which feels quite nice. ▲ Absorption It seems to have slightly lower absorption, as applying too much can leave a sticky feeling. I'd recommend using small amounts at a time. Spatula While there is a spatula included, it's a bit clunky and difficult to use. Also, due to the lightweight formula, it tends to drip off when you scoop it up. I agree with another user who mentioned it would have been better in a tube format. Formula Given its watery consistency, it's best used for hydration purposes. You might need to follow up with another cream to seal in the moisture. Pro tip: Try storing it in the fridge and use it as a hydrating mask - it works wonders! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinJun 28, 2024
Texture: It's a gel-type formula with tiny cream beads(?) mixed in. The beads dissolve smoothly when rubbed in. Being a gel, it feels a bit more fluid than regular creams. Scent: I love that the fragrance isn't overpowering. There's a subtle, fresh scent that doesn't bother me, even though I'm usually sensitive to cosmetic smells. Packaging: The Water Bank line's signature rounded hexagonal design is really beautiful! It suits the 'Water Bank' name perfectly and looks clean and elegant. The stickiness was disappointing. A moisturizer I used before felt hydrating yet finished with a fresh feel, but this product seems to absorb slowly, leaving a lingering sticky sensation. Being impatient, I can't wait for it to fully absorb without layering an emulsion or another cream on top...ugh. While it does seem to protect against moisture loss, I didn't feel like the hydration penetrated deeply into my skin. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinJun 28, 2024
My skin type is combination dehydrated with some blemishes and tends to heat up quickly! The texture is similar to aloe gel. It has a subtle scent that's reminiscent of cucumber or aloe, which might be hit or miss for some people. The packaging is cute and round with a slightly blue tint, giving it a cool and refreshing appearance! When I first applied it with the spatula, I felt an immediate cooling sensation. However, it quickly warmed up, probably due to my skin's tendency to heat up. That said, while my skin temperature usually rises quickly without any product, after applying this cream, it maintained a comfortably cool temperature. So, it seems to have a cooling effect! I liked that it's not heavy, so it doesn't pill, but it's also not too light, so the hydration doesn't evaporate quickly. It leaves a pleasantly fresh finish with just the right amount of moisture! However, it feels slightly oily, so I personally recommend it for your evening routine rather than morning, as it might make your skin look greasy quickly. This gel cream contains small particles that you can feel when you first apply it, but they quickly dissolve into the skin, which I appreciated. The amount of product and its functionality seem a bit lacking for the price... It might be worth buying when it's on sale. It's disappointing that there's no built-in storage space for the spatula. While the current packaging is super cute and pretty, I think a tube container that you can squeeze would be more hygienic and easier to store than one you have to scoop product out of. For an enhanced cooling effect, I recommend storing it in the refrigerator. You could also try applying a generous layer of the chilled cream and covering it with a sheet mask for a cooling and hydrating mask treatment! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinJun 28, 2024
A refreshing summer moisturizer that coats your skin beautifully The gel texture applies smoothly and contains quite a few capsules! At first, the capsules might feel slightly grainy, but they quickly melt into your skin and disappear! Despite its lightweight formula, perhaps due to the capsules, the hydration is surprisingly good - perfect for combination dehydrated skin! It's nearly fragrance-free, so there's no love-hate relationship with the scent! Even at room temperature, it feels cool on the skin, making it ideal for summer use! The lid closure is a bit unusual! Instead of twisting to close, you need to align it with the grooves and click it shut! It might take some getting used to at first! While the packaging is pretty, the product quantity seems a bit on the smaller side! Even a small amount keeps your skin moisturized, so you can use it sparingly! The cream itself absorbs quickly into the skin without feeling slippery! With its low oil content and high moisture content, this cream is highly recommended for those with combination dehydrated skin! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinJun 28, 2024
I've always had good experiences with hyaluronic products, so I was excited to try this one when I got the chance! The concept of a gel cream intrigued me, and after using it, I totally get what it's all about. It looks like a gel but transforms into a cream when applied, feeling nice and moist on the skin. The scent is similar to other hyaluronic products. I'm satisfied with how it applies lightly while still providing hydration. There weren't really any significant downsides, but if I had to nitpick... maybe the lack of a designated spot for the spatula? Also, I was a bit disappointed to see so much product stuck to the plastic lid when I first opened it. But honestly, there's not much to complain about. A cream product that's refillable! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJun 28, 2024
I absolutely adore the container shape and the pastel colors - the packaging is so cute and appealing! The texture and hydration level are perfect for my combination dehydrated skin. Just one application keeps my skin from feeling dry. It absorbs well when applied, and the little particles quickly sink into the skin, which I love. The fragrance is subtle and pleasant, so I think I'll enjoy using it without any issues. Even with my super sensitive skin, I felt a slight cooling effect when applied, and it didn't cause any additional blemishes. The Hwahae Testers would approve! Considering the price, the amount of product is less than I expected, which makes me hesitant about repurchasing. I think it would work great as an overnight mask if you apply a generous layer after cleansing in the evening (it would be even better if it came in a larger size). - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 28, 2024
Texture and Feel: It has a transparent gel-like texture that melts into your skin upon application! It absorbs quickly as it warms to your body temperature. I love the cool, refreshing sensation when you use it with a fan. Scent: It has a cool, aloe gel-like fragrance. The scent is subtle and likely won't be polarizing. Highlights: It's rare to find a product that provides hydration without feeling greasy in summer, but this one does just that! I think I'll be using it all summer long. After using it for two weeks, I couldn't find any downsides. It seems to suit my skin type well, as my previously oily and dry skin prone to blemishes has completely calmed down! The effectiveness might vary from person to person, though. Apply it after washing your face in the evening, then lie down in front of a fan for a guaranteed good night's sleep.
