Texture and formula: It's a gel with capsules inside. At first, I wondered if these capsules would absorb or just sit on top of the skin. But as soon as it touched my skin, they melted away smoothly. It absorbs quickly, though it leaves a slightly sticky feeling on the skin. Cooling effect: My skin has been flushed from sun exposure lately, and when I applied this, it felt cool and somewhat soothing. Scent: It doesn't have an artificial fragrance. Instead, it has a slightly refreshing scent, perhaps like cucumber? Hydration: My skin didn't feel tight, and the lightweight formula seems perfect for summer use. The packaging requires you to turn the container and scoop out the product with a spatula. For someone like me who's reached the maximum level of laziness, even this feels too cumbersome. I think it would be more convenient if it came in a tube format. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinJun 28, 2024
My skin type is dry in winter but combination dehydrated in summer, with pores, redness, and excess sebum. I also have atopic dermatitis, so my skin barrier is thin and somewhat sensitive. I knew about the famous blue Laneige Water Bank, but I was curious about the new oily skin version. I'm glad I got the chance to try it! The scent is a subtle mix of herbs and soda, perfect for summer - refreshing without being polarizing. The texture is true to a gel cream, full of hydration, similar to a soothing or aqua cream - transparent and moderately fluid. I was intrigued by the visible particles, but they dissolve well and absorb easily without any roughness. Despite being a gel cream, it has a great balance of moisture and richness. It's my first time using a hyaluronic acid product, and while I was worried about stickiness based on some reviews, I found it fine! It feels firm at first but quickly absorbs with great adherence. It creates a thin moisture barrier, like an 'egg-shell skin', which I'm really satisfied with! I didn't notice a strong cooling effect, possibly because I kept it at room temperature, but it remained non-sticky over time. It's perfect for combination dehydrated skin with deep dryness, and even dry skin types could enjoy its freshness in summer. I love it so much that I'll definitely repurchase! I experienced some minor blemishes when I first started using it, but my skin always needs time to adapt. Now I don't have any irritation at all. The spatula that comes with it is a bit awkward to store. The price per volume is quite high, so repurchasing might be a burden. I hope for some big discounts! They sell refills separately, so let's protect our environment! If you store it in the fridge, you'll feel the cooling effect better, and it can soothe summer-heated, flushed skin. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinJun 28, 2024
Texture: It's a gel-type formula with tiny cream beads(?) mixed in. The beads dissolve smoothly when rubbed in. Being a gel, it feels a bit more fluid than regular creams. Scent: I love that the fragrance isn't overpowering. There's a subtle, fresh scent that doesn't bother me, even though I'm usually sensitive to cosmetic smells. Packaging: The Water Bank line's signature rounded hexagonal design is really beautiful! It suits the 'Water Bank' name perfectly and looks clean and elegant. The stickiness was disappointing. A moisturizer I used before felt hydrating yet finished with a fresh feel, but this product seems to absorb slowly, leaving a lingering sticky sensation. Being impatient, I can't wait for it to fully absorb without layering an emulsion or another cream on top...ugh. While it does seem to protect against moisture loss, I didn't feel like the hydration penetrated deeply into my skin. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJun 28, 2024
- First off, the square packaging was adorable and pretty. - The subtle fragrance was pleasant, not overpowering, which I appreciated. - It was my first time using this type of formula with tiny spheres inside. I was curious how they would absorb into my skin, and I was pleased to find they melted in smoothly, leaving my skin feeling hydrated. - The absorbs well was excellent. - Having blemishes-prone skin, I was slightly worried when others mentioned breakouts. Fortunately, it seemed to suit my skin well, and I didn't experience any new blemishes. The formula was a bit runny, so I couldn't help but think a tube-type container might have been more hygienic to use. When using it at room temperature, I honestly couldn't tell if it reduced any facial heat or flushing. Storing it in the refrigerator makes it 200% more effective in reducing facial heat. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 28, 2024
★ Here's my honest review after using it for a week: - No strong artificial fragrance; just a subtle hint of aloe - The granules dissolve quickly with just one gentle roll, making application smooth - Light enough for year-round use - Has a slight oiliness, but doesn't feel sticky after absorption. Maintains good hydration without needing an additional rich cream - Despite emphasizing a cooling effect in the description, I couldn't really feel it - While a spoon is included, it's inconvenient to store and might collect dust - Jar-type cosmetics can be challenging to keep hygienic - When used as part of your skincare routine before makeup, apply a thin layer after toner. It absorbs well and creates a nice base for makeup application - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 27, 2024
Typical combination dehydrated skin - lack of hydration leads to excess oil and visible dead skin cells. After trying various products from toners to ampoules, essences, creams, and eye creams, I've now simplified my routine to just toner and cream. The rich, moisturizing texture prevents flakiness during makeup application. When applied generously after evening cleansing, it creates a dewy effect, indicating deep hydration. The scent is fresh, similar to aloe gel, but subtle enough not to be bothersome. On humid days, applying too much can lead to visible beads of moisture on the face, so use a thin layer in humid conditions. For combination dehydrated skin that still experiences flakiness and oiliness despite layering products, try this: After toning, apply a thin layer of Water Bank twice. This helps create a smooth canvas for makeup application. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 26, 2024
Light, hydrating, and bouncy gel cream texture. I found it a bit too lightweight to use as my main moisturizer, so I used it as a substitute for my soothing gel instead! 1. Universally pleasant scent The fragrance isn't overpowering, making it suitable for everyone without any strong opinions. 2. Hydrating Unlike most gel creams that tend to dry out quickly and leave your skin feeling parched or cracked, this one doesn't have that typical gel texture. It's hydrating yet lightweight, and importantly, it doesn't leave your skin feeling dry with oil rising to the surface later. 3. Suitable for sensitive skin When I've used incompatible soothing gels in the past, my skin would flush immediately. However, this one worked well for me without any issues! I didn't find any other downsides. I think it'll be perfect to use as the weather gets warmer in summer. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 25, 2024
As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I was looking for something that would keep me hydrated without feeling greasy in the summer, and this is exactly what I wanted. The scent isn't overpowering either - it's subtly refreshing. I haven't found any downsides yet. If anything, I feel confident using a bit more product than usual. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 25, 2024
Texture: It doesn't sit on top of the skin and leaves a moisturized feeling without any residue. The cooling effect makes it perfect for summer use. Formulation: It has a transparent water-gel texture with blue hyaluronic acid capsules that absorb quickly into the skin without any stickiness when massaged in. Scent: There's a subtle cucumber and aloe fragrance. The scent isn't overpowering. Packaging: The glossy square container has a rounded shape and is designed with refillable options, showing consideration for eco-friendliness. The included spatula allows for hygienic application. Those with dry skin might find the hydration level slightly insufficient. Apply small amounts in layers as the final step of your skincare routine to combat deep dryness and reduce skin temperature. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinJun 23, 2024
A perfect moisturizer for oily yet combination dehydrated skin! Even suitable for super sensitive skin. - Contains tiny particles Don't worry, they don't irritate the skin when applying! - Unique scent It's not an off-putting smell! Personally, I like it. The scent fades as you apply and doesn't linger on the skin. - Light texture, but the more you apply... ***Your skin feels increasingly firm and bouncy*** This has become the biggest advantage while using this product (Though it's not a completely lightweight formula) It's not sticky, but pleasantly firm! - There's an initial seal to protect the moisture barrier Usually, there's a plastic cover under the lid, but this one has a film seal, which feels more thoughtful I've used cooling moisturizers before, so I didn't notice a huge difference in reducing skin heat Seems to be refillable I definitely want to buy it!!!! Planning to gift it to friends based on their skin types! The regular price might be a bit steep, so I recommend waiting for a sale and stocking up then Wish they'd release a larger size... haha
