  Pros

  Skin Type: I have some pigmentation from past blemishes, and while I rarely get breakouts now, my skin is prone to flare-ups if I use incompatible ingredients or don't cleanse properly. Currently, I'm more concerned with combination dehydrated skin and dead skin cells than acne-prone skin. Ingredients/Blemishes: Among the 20 cautionary ingredients listed by Hwahae, Cetyl PEG improves cosmetic texture and adherence. However, being a silicone oil, it can interfere with skin respiration and potentially lead to clogged pores and blemishes. I didn't experience any pore-clogging issues during my second cleanse. Color: The light pink-ivory color beautifully brightened my complexion. Texture: It had a relatively thin cream consistency. Application/Convenience: While it needs shaking before first use, which is common for such products, I didn't find it particularly inconvenient. In fact, it was convenient to use right after toner without much fuss over my skincare routine.

  Packaging: The packaging might seem a bit dated to some, or reminiscent of expensive skincare products our parents might use. The pump dispenser was convenient, but product residue on the nozzle often made the cap messy when closed. Application: As someone with combination dehydrated skin, prominent dead skin cells, and facial hair, I found it difficult to apply evenly. It tended to emphasize pores and cling to peach fuzz, resulting in patchy application. While I typically use brightening moisturizers for their convenience and natural tone-up effect, this product, despite claiming to be convenient, took too long to blend evenly, negating its supposed advantage. Scent: It had that characteristic, somewhat stuffy smell typical of foundation-type products, which made my face feel even more suffocated.

  Pros

  - Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin (severe deep dryness), atopic sensitive skin. My skin is so sensitive that if I use the wrong cleansing product, it becomes intensely itchy and can flare up suddenly. - Texture & application: It has a thin consistency and spreads smoothly on the skin. - Finish: Leaves the skin feeling moisturized. - When applied properly in the right amount, it naturally brightens the complexion by one shade, which is great!

  Cons

  If you can't control the amount, it can clump. When applied to skin that's not in good condition, it severely emphasizes dead skin cells. The scent might be divisive - it smells like cosmetics or powder, which I personally dislike. While the finish looks dewy, my skin doesn't actually feel hydrated, it just appears shiny on the surface. (Given it's the changing season, I feel like if I went out like this, all the yellow dust and fine dust would stick to my face...)

  Tip

  Try using a pea-sized amount and blend well. Make sure to exfoliate before application, and finish with a light dusting of powder. That should work better!

After testing the product, I found it provides a natural brightening effect that's perfect for a bare-faced look without being noticeable. When used as a base before makeup, it not only enhances the complexion but also improves longevity, making it an essential part of my daily routine. The scent is reminiscent of high-end cosmetics, which I personally found quite pleasant right from the first whiff.   You can achieve a brightening effect with just a small amount, and the color is close to Yves Saint Laurent's Porcelain shade. It has a texture similar to Chanel's tint when it separates, but after shaking well, it feels like a rich foundation! I've compared various brightening moisturizers in terms of color and texture.

  Cons

  If your skin texture isn't well-prepped (in terms of sebum and dead skin cells), it might accentuate these issues. You need to be careful with the direction and pressure when using the pump, as the product can really fly out!

  Tip

  1. Instructions I appreciate the included instructions to shake well before use. I made sure to give it a good shake as directed. The clear guidance was helpful. Surprisingly, the contents were quite liquid, making a sloshing sound when shaken. Initially, it sloshes when shaken, but once well-mixed, that sound disappears. 2. Packaging The pump design allows for hygienic and controlled dispensing. Though I was startled by the initial few pumps that came out with a 'squirt'! Haha! 3. Scent The initial scent is somewhat medicinal, but once applied, it has a fresh aqua or cucumber-like fragrance. The scent isn't overpowering, so it's not bothersome. 4. Texture and Application Despite the liquid-like sound when shaken, the texture isn't as runny as expected. It feels like applying a regular cream. It has a light peach color. 5. Performance It brightens the skin tone effectively. It does leave a white cast when applied. So, controlling the amount is crucial. Perhaps due to its beneficial ingredients, it imparts a subtle glow when applied.

  1. It doesn't provide UV protection. 2. Applying too much can lead to a white cast, fingerprint marks, creasing, and emphasized dead skin cells. Proper amount control is essential! For a natural look, it's best to apply a thin layer. 3. Layering this over your skincare routine and sunscreen might feel a bit heavy. It's fine during the dry season, but I'm unsure how it'll perform in summer.

  I usually use shade 23 foundation, and I noticed a subtle difference in tone between my face and neck when wearing makeup. Applying foundation to my neck tends to transfer onto clothes.. So, I mainly use this brightening moisturizer on my neck. While this product does transfer slightly, it's not as noticeable as foundation, making it quite useful!
