My skin is so sensitive that if I use the wrong cleansing product, it becomes intensely itchy and can flare up suddenly. - Texture & application: It has a thin consistency and spreads smoothly on the skin. - Finish: Leaves the skin feeling moisturized. - When applied properly in the right amount, it naturally brightens the complexion by one shade, which is great!
ConsIf you can't control the amount, it can clump. When applied to skin that's not in good condition, it severely emphasizes dead skin cells. The scent might be divisive - it smells like cosmetics or powder, which I personally dislike. While the finish looks dewy, my skin doesn't actually feel hydrated, it just appears shiny on the surface. (Given it's the changing season, I feel like if I went out like this, all the yellow dust and fine dust would stick to my face...)
TipTry using a pea-sized amount and blend well. Make sure to exfoliate before application, and finish with a light dusting of powder. That should work better!

It doesn't just lighten the skin tone, but also gives a smooth, velvety effect. That's why I'm not only using it on my face, but also on areas with more wrinkles like my hands, and I'm really satisfied with the results.
ConsIt really brightens up your skin with just a tiny amount, but it's so hard to squeeze out just a little. If you press gently, nothing comes out, but if you apply a bit more pressure, suddenly a lot bursts out, leaving me struggling with what to do with the excess every time. It seems like the packaging could use some improvement.

However, it seems to work best when your skin is already in decent condition. The great thing is, regardless of your skin's state, it doesn't cause any pilling, emphasize pores, or highlight dead skin cells at all. In my opinion, a good brightening moisturizer should give you a subtle glow, make your skin look healthier, and lift your complexion by a shade - which is exactly what this does. Of course, you shouldn't rely on this alone on bare skin. It works best as the final step in your skincare routine. As someone who wears foundation or cushion daily, I've found mixing this in works wonders. It not only helps my makeup wear beautifully throughout the day, but it also improves how it fades. While primers often focus on pore-minimizing, this brightening moisturizer is versatile - you can mix it in, apply it before or even after your foundation. The difference becomes noticeable after just a couple of hours. The order doesn't really matter, but if you wear makeup, I highly recommend trying this. It not only brightens but also helps balance your skin's oil and moisture levels.
ConsThe downside is that it doesn't offer sun protection, so you'll need to apply sunscreen separately. Usually, brightening products come with SPF, but this one doesn't. That's why I still use a separate sunscreen.
TipMixing this 1:1 with your foundation is an absolute game-changer!

It's more like 'Did I even apply anything?' rather than 'Look, I'm wearing brightening moisturizer!' It evens skin tone naturally, which is great. The texture is smooth and similar to sunscreen, making it quite nice to use.
ConsThe scent is really like old-fashioned cosmetics... Personally, I found the smell quite unpleasant. Given that I have to wear a mask at work, the smell was really bothersome. Due to the container design, it's nearly impossible to use it cleanly - the product keeps getting on the clear lid even after wiping. The biggest disappointment is the lack of sun protection!!! Most brightening moisturizers have SPF, so it's a letdown that this one doesn't. At this price point, there are better options available, so I probably wouldn't buy it if I weren't part of The Hwahae Testers. And a major drawback - it pills even if you apply just a little! Even after shaking and carefully applying, it still pills. It's a mess around the nose and mouth area. Overall, I wasn't impressed.
TipApply only a small amount, as using too much can lead to caking and clumping.

I tried the Lumibon brightening moisturizer I won this time before my foundation, and I absolutely love it! First off, it brightens naturally without looking too light or floating on the skin. It even seems to have a bit of coverage. There were times when I rushed out with just this on, and it was really great. I found out it also has skincare benefits. It's excellent for evening skin tone without any dryness or makeup pilling. It blends seamlessly down to the neck, which is a huge plus. A small amount is enough for full coverage, and it adheres to the skin lightly without feeling heavy. There's no white cast, and I definitely plan to repurchase.
ConsI haven't noticed any drawbacks yet. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a brightening skincare-infused moisturizer that evens skin tone.

It definitely lives up to expectations in terms of moisture. I did a split-face test, and while the #1 product showed some flaking and dead skin cells on my dry skin, this one didn't. It naturally brightens the complexion by about one shade, or 1.5 shades if you apply more. It seems to cover light freckles and even reduces some redness. The brightening moisturizer absorbs well due to its hydrating formula. The finish leaves a slight moisturized feeling and gives the skin a glow. Despite having super sensitive skin, I didn't experience any blemishes or irritation. Highly recommended for those with dry skin!
ConsNothing bad to report! Oh, just be careful when squeezing the tube - it tends to spray out like a spritzer. Use with caution!
TipTry using it as a base before makeup! It helps prevent darkening of the skin. And don't forget to apply it to your neck as well!

It evens skin tone without leaving a white cast, even when applied by hand, giving a thin and natural-looking finish as if it's your own skin. Smooth application. It doesn't feel thick or leave any dryness after application. However, it doesn't provide a subtle Inner Glow, just a basic skincare glow. A little goes a long way. You don't need to apply a lot to achieve sufficient brightening.
ConsLacks sun protection. The scent. I was taken aback when I squeezed it onto the back of my hand and spread it on my face with my fingers. The smell is quite strong. Tube packaging issues. The product is slippery and despite shaking well, it's hard to squeeze out. Sometimes it spurts out unexpectedly. As it's a functional cosmetic, it's advisable to patch test for potential allergic reactions.

This product caught my attention right away, boasting 14 types of peptides and other high-performance ingredients. I was excited to try it, and it didn't disappoint! It glides on smoothly, naturally brightening your complexion by a shade. Unlike some mineral sunscreens, it doesn't leave a white cast or make your skin feel parched. Its hydrating formula makes it suitable for those with dry skin. As someone with super sensitive skin, I was initially worried about potential blemishes or breakouts from the potent ingredients, but I experienced no adverse reactions. It absorbs lightly into the skin, giving a natural brightening effect. Perfect for those quick trips out when you don't want to bother with foundation - just layer it on twice for a bit more coverage. It gives you that effortless, 'I woke up like this' look. However, keep in mind it's just a brightening moisturizer, so it won't cover blemishes. But if you have relatively clear skin, it'll give you a polished, radiant appearance.
ConsThe main drawback is that unlike most brightening moisturizers, this one doesn't offer sun protection. It's a bit disappointing as most combine brightening effects with SPF. This means you'll need to layer sunscreen, brightening moisturizer, and foundation if you're doing a full face - which can be a bit of a hassle. I'll probably only use this for quick outings when I don't want to bother with foundation.
TipRemember to shake the product well before use. If you forget, you might end up with some product separation.

Your complexion naturally becomes radiant, giving you that 'I woke up like this' glow. It's perfect for achieving that 'great skin without makeup' look!
ConsThe most inconvenient aspect is the lack of sun protection, requiring you to apply sunscreen separately before using this. Usually, we use brightening moisturizers with built-in UV protection for a one-step routine. At this point, it feels like you might as well just apply sunscreen and then use a cushion foundation...
TipThey recommend using only a small amount, and they're absolutely right. A little truly goes a long way. Make sure to use just a tiny bit when applying.

I'd recommend it for those days when you don't want to use foundation or cushion, but just sunscreen makes your face look too dull. While I do use base products, this one has so many good ingredients that it feels more like a skincare product I can use with confidence. It looks quite light when first applied, but over time it seems to adjust naturally to your complexion. Still, I'd suggest applying it in small amounts. It feels nice and powdery when applied, so I think I'll use it often in summer.
ConsI wish the scent was a bit more refreshing. It kind of reminds me of those rich creams our moms use!
TipI recommend applying it on your neck when you're wearing makeup. It helps prevent that floating face effect!
