Cushions with poor adherence 2. Cushions that darken quickly 3. Cushions that feel heavy even when applied thinly 4. Cushions that appear moist on the surface but are dry inside 5. Matte cushions (easily settle into fine lines and peel off) Review of the Wake Make Water Glow Coating Balm: ♥ Brush vs. Puff -> Good When using a brush, as shown in most YouTube videos, the product becomes thick and peels off if you rub it on the face. I recommend following the method shown in Byeolmi's YouTube video - lightly dab it on one cheek and chin, and it won't peel off and will provide a light coverage. The brush bristles are dense and soft, so there are almost no brush marks left. Using a puff like a regular cushion makes the coverage very thick and heavy, causing it to peel off. I recommend using the puff to remove brush marks or to lightly dab on a small amount to cover blemishes. Personally, I liked the feel of the Ruby Cell puff, as it's not too thin and has a soft texture. TIP: The Ruby Cell puff absorbs a lot of product, so I recommend using a small amount and adjusting the quantity. ♥ Shade -> #1 Rosy Porcelain I'm currently using the Naming Layered Fit #17Y cushion well. I bought the Rosy Porcelain shade based on the recommendation that it's suitable for customers in the #17-19 range. While many reviews said the shade is bright, I find it a bit darker than the Naming #17Y for my skin tone... I recommend testing the shade at a nearby Olive Young store and then comparing prices to purchase online. ♥ Adherence -> Low Even with a light base, and despite my dry skin not producing much oil over time, the adherence is poor... It leaves visible marks where it's applied. Lightly powdering the entire face is a must. Personally, the lack of adherence is a significant disappointment. ♥ Balm Type -> Not a Whimsical Texture The balm type is difficult to use in a hurry in the morning. It's also challenging to touch up, and if you fail to control the amount, it becomes heavy and messy later on.The balm type should be moisturizing so that it's easy to apply and touch up. The Wake Make Coating Balm is not moisturizing enough. You shouldn't expect a dewy, glossy finish like some other products. It has a semi-matte finish, which is good for touch-ups, but it's not an ideal balm type. ♥ Darkening -> Present It darkens by about half a shade. ♥ Longevity -> Peels off Touch-ups are needed after 4-5 hours. It starts to peel off in thin areas like the eyes, sides of the nose, laugh lines, around the mouth, and chin. The longevity is average compared to other cushions. ♥ Pores -> Medium to High As a balm type, when applied with a brush and patted with a puff, it does a decent job of covering the pores on the T-zone. ♥ Coverage -> Medium The coverage is not as good as the formula suggests. It's medium coverage, so concealer is still needed for certain areas. I used concealer to cover blemishes and freckles. ♥ Positives The brush has dense bristles, and the Ruby Cell puff has a nice, bouncy texture, which I liked. It covers the pores well. The case is clean and doesn't get too many fingerprints.
ConsThe downside It shouldn't be purchased with the expectation of being moisturizing It is not suitable for corrective makeup with a cushion Rather than a light and clear skin expression, it gives a "I'm wearing makeup" feeling, being somewhat thick and feeling heavy and stuffy the more it is layered on It settles well into fine lines The adhesion is quite poor The color brightness is disappointing There is a slight darkening of about half a tone While it doesn't crumble, it becomes lifted and dry over time
Tip[Minimizing dryness and dullness with basic skincare] Cleansing: Milk cleanser or cleansing water (first cleanse) -> Foam cleanser (second cleanse) -> VT Super Hyaluron Bubble Sparkling Booster (can be skipped) Evening: Leegeehaam Vita Propolis 100 -> Hyaluronic acid serum or hyaluronic acid mask pack -> La Roche-Posay Multi-Repair Cream Morning: Water cleanse -> Hyaluronic acid serum -> Ongrid Skin Barrier Calming Lotion Before makeup: Jeong Saem Mool Water Micro Fitting Mist

ConsThe more pronounced the pores and the drier the skin, the more it tends to break down.
TipGently sweep on the moisture powder, and you'll be met with a beautiful skin expression and lasting wear. Also, it will brighten your complexion by one tone.

Skin expression - While others say the product gives a sauna-like shine that is too much, my dry skin seems to only achieve a just-right glow even with a solid skincare routine! It was difficult to achieve any glow before, but the coating balm gave a really beautiful shine. The skin expression is so great that those without acne would likely look even more stunning using it. 2. No darkening - My skin tone brightened a bit, but I did not experience any darkening. 3. Color - The color is so beautiful. It blends more naturally than Giverny 17 and makes my natural skin look prettier. It's useful for a no-makeup makeup look. 4. Portability - It was very convenient and nice to be able to carry the foundation around and do touch-ups.
Cons1. Longevity - Dry areas (especially around the lips): It's not exactly flaky, but it feels a bit like the skin is peeling when it's dry. And the areas where I covered blemishes also start to lift a bit. If it weren't for the blemishes, I would have been much more satisfied with this product! - Oily areas (nose, forehead): It doesn't get disgustingly messy, but when the oil comes through, just lightly touching it with my hand can wipe it all off. It's very smooth(?) like that. I can reapply and fix it, but since it's kind of a dewy type, it still feels a bit uncomfortable to me, so I tend to blot it off and reapply my makeup. => If you don't want the hassle of touch-ups, I wouldn't recommend this! 2. Coverage - Since it's a dewy foundation, the coverage is pretty much non-existent! The reddish, inflamed blemishes don't get covered well, and even acne scars are hard to conceal. However, it does a nice job of covering light dark circles and light discoloration.
TipApplying makeup with the included brush is much lighter and thinner, while using a puff makes the coverage a bit thicker and more effective! Personally, I would highly recommend this foundation, especially during the dry autumn and winter seasons!
