Besides my chest area, I had mild keratosis pilaris on my arms and legs, but it all improved and cleared up. The before condition was so mild it wouldn't even show up in photos, so I won't include those. Personally, I wish the testing period was a bit longer so I could have shown more definitive before and after photos. The 4th photo is the before, and the 5th photo is the after. Recommended skin type: None specifically! Usually, regardless of skin type, most people have dry skin below the neck. So I don't think this product discriminates based on skin type. However, I would definitely recommend this to those who are particularly troubled by keratosis pilaris and skin flaking.
ConsTexture: Compared to other body emulsions, it feels like there's a film, making it seem slower to absorb. It also felt less spreadable than other emulsions. So, I applied this emulsion on my problem areas and finished with my regular emulsion on the rest of my skin. Scent: I'm not sure if it's unavoidable due to the ingredients or effects, but I particularly disliked the salty smell when using it. The scent is also a big reason why I use my regular emulsion on the rest of my skin. Price: While I would recommend trying it once for those with similar skin concerns, for others, the price might seem quite high considering the quantity. Even for me, unless it's on sale, I'm not very inclined to purchase it again.
TipI recommend applying this product only on problem areas, and while it's absorbing, apply your regular body emulsion or one with a pleasant scent on the rest of your skin.

Personally, I find thick formulas a bit inconvenient and bothersome to apply all over the body, given the large surface area. This product, however, has a perfect balance - neither too runny nor too heavy, making it easy to glide on smoothly. **Absorption and Recommended Skin Type** It absorbs quickly with just a few gentle rubs. Plus, it doesn't leave a sticky residue after application. Perhaps due to the lactic acid content, it's particularly beneficial for winter-dry, flaky skin prone to cracking. You'll notice a reduction in dead skin cells and an improvement in skin texture. Highly recommended for dry skin types.
Cons**Scent** The fragrance is the main drawback. It seems to be the natural scent of the product's ingredients, but it has a somewhat sour note? That's the best way I can describe it. Because of this, the scent is a bit off-putting. I wish they had masked it with a lighter, more pleasant fragrance.
TipIt's perfect for use during the driest winter months! For regular use, you might want to alternate it with your usual body emulsion.

My legs used to have a bumpy feel, but using this product makes them noticeably smoother. While it's not perfect yet, I'm excited to see further improvements! It provides just the right amount of hydration. As someone who usually prefers oils, I'd say this offers a balanced level of moisture in comparison.
ConsThough it's a functional product, it's quite pricey. The amount you get for the cost is on the low side... However, I'm glad it delivers on its promises functionality-wise. That said, it might be too expensive for daily use, so I'd recommend using it on specific areas only. It has a slightly sour scent. If you're looking for a body emulsion with a pleasant fragrance, this isn't it. There's a somewhat fishy, sour smell that's not very appealing.
TipRecommended for those concerned about keratosis pilaris or specific skin issues!

My shin skin is dry with a slightly scaly texture, and usually dries out fast no matter what I apply. I only applied lactic acid to my left leg, and after 3-4 hours, it felt noticeably softer. While I don't have keratosis pilaris, I expect this would work well for consistently dry skin with regular use.
ConsI was worried about the scent based on reviews, but I actually prefer this medicinal smell to artificial fragrances, which I find unpleasant and overwhelming.
TipFor extremely dry skin, there's no quick fix... Try intensively moisturizing every 3 hours consistently. Over time, you should be able to extend the interval to 4 or 5 hours while maintaining hydrated skin. Give it a try!

As someone with extremely dry skin all over, I typically rely on oils and only use creams occasionally when my skin is really parched. I was skeptical about an emulsion, but this one seems to maintain moisture better than other body emulsions I've tried. Unlike others that disappear instantly, this one absorbs slowly even without oil, and the hydration lasts. It doesn't evaporate quickly, and the absorbs well is typical for a body emulsion.
ConsThe scent is a bit off-putting for me personally. It's not a gentle fragrance, but rather an unpleasant medicinal smell - as if the lack of added fragrance is somehow a good thing. While that's the only downside, I don't mind it much when I apply it after my evening shower.
TipAvoid using this on injured or sensitized skin for a while. Due to my numerous allergies, my skin has become quite thin, and I noticed a slight tingling sensation even on areas without visible wounds but with hives. It seems this product isn't entirely free from irritation.

It's also great for managing skin in folded areas or after hair removal - it doesn't cause itching and helps calm psoriasis-like skin. The lightweight emulsion formula means you can apply it directly without mixing. I used it as a base layer and then added other products where needed for extra care.
ConsCompared to other reviewers, I found the distinctive smell to be quite overwhelming. That's why I deducted two stars. The scent is unbearably strong... like ammonia? Or a pungent odor? I realized it might be due to the second ingredient on the list. I initially thought I had the wrong product, but it turned out to be the right one. While it's effective, I only use it sparingly due to the smell, keeping it as far from my face as possible.
TipIf you're not bothered by the scent, I highly recommend this! It's great for rough skin, that scaly fish-like texture, or localized psoriasis-prone areas. The Hwahae Testers approve! Apply this first, then follow with your moisturizer - it absorbs well!

My body skin type is prone to blemishes on the back and dry skin on arms and calves. The Amlactin Lactic Acid Body Emulsion is designed to help moisturize the skin and remove dead skin cells. Unlike physical scrubs, it uses a lactic acid formula to gently exfoliate, making it suitable for daily use without stressing the skin. It claims to strengthen the skin barrier and provide 48-hour hydration. 1. Application: The product has excellent absorption - a little goes a long way. Despite its exfoliating properties, the texture is surprisingly smooth, not gritty at all. My calves and arms used to be so dry that I needed multiple applications of body cream, but with Amlactin, one application is enough to keep dryness at bay. I'm also impressed with how quickly it absorbs. As someone who dislikes sticky, heavy products, I appreciate how this emulsion sinks in immediately, leaving my skin feeling embraced. 2. Results: The true test of a body cream's effectiveness is often the next shower, and that's when I noticed the difference. My skin felt noticeably smoother when water touched it compared to before using Amlactin. 'Silky' might be a better description. Regarding the blemishes on my back, I've included before and after photos - the first taken before using Amlactin, and the second after about 10 days of use. While there's a slight improvement in the blemishes, I found the product more effective at soothing post-extraction marks rather than directly treating active blemishes. It excels at softening skin and removing dead skin cells, but its impact on blemishes and other skin troubles was limited.
ConsWhile Amlactin body cream definitely delivers on skin softening and hydration, its major drawback is the scent - or rather, the odor. It's not even a fragrance; it's more like a mix of vinegar and soy sauce, with an astringent quality that's quite off-putting. You could argue that the lack of added fragrances is a plus, but the smell is so strong that it limits how much you want to apply. Another downside is the small quantity. Yes, a little goes a long way thanks to its good absorption, but even considering that, there's just not enough product for regular use on the body, which is obviously larger than the face. You'd need to stock up on multiple bottles. Overall, I'd recommend Amlactin Lactic Acid Body Care if you're looking to manage rough, bumpy skin (not blemishes). However, if you're dealing with acne-like blemishes or purely seeking hydration, you might be better off with other body care products.

My skin gets itchy and tingly if I don't apply something daily. I applied this product right after showering while my skin was still slightly damp. Although it didn't absorb super quickly, I didn't find it particularly inconvenient to use. I was pleased with how long the hydration lasted. Since I've only been using it for a short time, I haven't noticed any significant improvements in my skin condition. However, given that my skin usually worsens quickly when using products with poor staying power, I'm satisfied that this didn't cause any deterioration.
ConsThe scent was... surprisingly... unpleasant. It smells like perm solution...? Very strong. The smell even lingered on my hands, so every time I brought them near my face, I could smell it. At first, I thought I couldn't use it anymore, but I gradually got used to it... Still, I wouldn't recommend this to those who are sensitive to fragrances like me.

Without applying cream after washing, they would become painfully dry without a hint of moisture. When I applied this cream focusing on my dry hands, feet, and elbows, it instantly transformed them to feel as if I had just showered and applied a moisturizer. The effect is truly remarkable. Application: The cream absorbs well, making it easy and pleasant to apply over large areas.
ConsScent: The strong ammonia smell that hits you is quite overwhelming. To be honest, I don't think I could use this when going out. It's a bit... intense.
TipI think it would be great to apply a generous amount to areas that need care before bed at night.

My legs tend to get especially dry in winter, but after using this, I noticed gradual improvement. I'm hoping it will alleviate the scaly skin on my legs that appears every winter. Effective exfoliation While I've been casual about body exfoliation, just using body wash, this body emulsion offers exfoliating benefits too - it's like killing two birds with one stone. However, as it might be harsh for sensitive skin, I recommend starting with a small amount.
ConsThe lingering scent...? The initial fragrance was quite similar to Cetaphil cream, which I really liked, but after applying it to my body, the scent felt stronger than expected. I'm not sure if it's because I have a sensitive nose, but the remaining scent on my hands was slightly irritating... I think I need to use it more to be sure. >> 20250322 After using it more, I can confirm that the scent is definitely unpleasant... The more I apply it, the more it smells like vinegar. My mom tried it and asked why the fragrance was so strange. I understand it's probably due to the ingredients, but I hope this aspect improves in the future.
TipEffects may vary depending on your skin type, so start with a small amount!
