I'm so happy to have been selected as a Hwahae Tester for this product. The Minon sunscreen applies smoothly and isn't sticky at all. My husband, who usually dislikes other sunscreens because they feel heavy, consistently uses this one without complaint. Especially since my husband has super sensitive skin and is extremely picky about skincare products, it's great that the Minon sunscreen is gentle enough for his delicate skin to use without any issues. For me, after lunchtime when my makeup usually melts off, making it tough to go for a walk outside, I always reapply the Minon sunscreen before heading out. The UV rays are so scary these days... Application: 5/5 Hydration: 5/5 Matte finish: 4/5 I've tried various sunscreens, but the Minon UV Mild Gel seems to be the most convenient to use anytime! I'm ready to face this summer's sun with this product.
ConsI used to only use SPF 50, so with SPF 38, I think I'll need to use this for daily wear and buy a separate one for outdoor activities.
TipFor those who use foundation, I recommend mixing it with this sunscreen when applying.

It's perfect for my combination-dry skin, and I think it would be wonderfully hydrating for those with oily skin too. The product dispenses smoothly from the tube, like a cream. I usually squeeze out about four dollops. It's a genuinely moisturizing and firm cream formula that doesn't feel sticky when applied. It replenishes hydration, and I can see why it's called a 'mild gel'! Even when applied generously, it doesn't feel heavy or burdensome on the skin. What I appreciate most is its texture - it's not too watery, yet it spreads evenly across the face. That's probably its biggest advantage. It does provide a natural brightening effect, but I wouldn't say it's enough to go out with just this on. It's great for wearing under makeup or indoors.
ConsThere's nothing I particularly dislike about this product! Even the tube packaging is soft and clean-looking, which I really like.

It seems to be a decent product for daily use. Texture: It applies lightly like an emulsion and absorbs well. I liked that it finishes without much stickiness and can be easily removed with just a primary cleanse. Blemishes: As someone with sensitive skin that often reacts badly to sun products, I was pleased that this didn't cause any major breakouts. It should be fine to use if your skin barrier isn't too compromised. Eye Irritation: There was no stinging or discomfort when applied around the eyes. White Cast: There's a slight white cast immediately after application, but it's not excessive. As it absorbs, the tone becomes more natural and leaves a subtle glow. Scent: It's unscented, which is nice and clean. Even when I sniffed it up close, I could barely detect any fragrance. Packaging: The wide base of the cap prevents it from tipping over when standing. The tube format allows for hygienic use.
ConsThe main downsides were the significant pilling and the relatively low UV protection. With so many good Korean options available, I probably won't repurchase this once it's finished. Makeup Compatibility: Initially, it seems to adhere well, but over time it pills like dead skin. When I applied cushion foundation over it, my makeup looked patchy. It might be difficult to use under makeup. Sun Protection Factor: With SPF 38 and PA+++, the UV protection isn't particularly high. While this might be due to the gentle formulation, I'd be hesitant to use it on very sunny days. Irritation: Despite being marketed as suitable for children, it caused slight itching on sensitive areas. It might not suit those with extremely sensitive skin. Dryness: After a while, I felt a bit of deep dryness. It might be challenging to use during seasonal changes. Ingredients: It contains phenoxyethanol, a preservative. While considered safer than parabens, some people might still be uncomfortable with it. Portability: While not inconvenient to carry, it's not exactly pocket-sized. It won't fit in a small cosmetic pouch.
TipIt might be suitable for use when not going out for long periods or as a body sunscreen. If using before makeup, ensure you allow plenty of time for it to absorb before applying your base makeup.

Here's what I loved: - It's fragrance-free - Being a gentle product, it didn't cause any blemishes when applied - It gives a natural glow and feels hydrating without being excessively sticky - The white cast is minimal, just barely noticeable
ConsThe absorption could be better. It tends to pill when applying makeup over it, so I probably won't use it under makeup. I'll use it on my neck or when I'm going out with just sunscreen on!

It applies smoothly without any stickiness, creating a thin, weightless layer. If you dislike the heavy, suffocating feeling of some sunscreens, you'll likely enjoy this product. It's fragrance-free, so those with sensitive noses can use it without worry. As someone with an oily T-zone and chin, I usually avoid products with high oil content. I'm satisfied with this one as it doesn't feel greasy. If you're not wearing makeup, it might leave a slightly dewy finish. For me, gently blotting with oil-absorbing sheets with powder works perfectly. Considering the finish, it's probably best for use in seasons other than summer.
ConsIt's a bit disappointing that it contains one potentially harmful ingredient and has a lower SPF rating.

The slight brightening effect is perfect for everyday use. Although the SPF is lower compared to other products, it seems sufficient for daily activities!
ConsI haven't found any drawbacks yet. It's comfortable and easy to use.

That's why I have faith in Japanese sunscreens. This one has excellent absorption - at first it seems to whiten the skin a bit, but then it absorbs completely. The finish is nice, neither too sticky nor too dry. I also like that it seems to cleanse off easily, which is a plus. When my skin is acting up, double cleansing can be harsh, so I appreciate that this can be removed gently without irritation.
ConsI recently stayed near the beach, and I found the low SPF to be a bit disappointing. However, I think it's fine for everyday use.
TipAllow your skincare to absorb fully before applying sunscreen. Leave some time between your base skincare and sunscreen application.

It finishes with a soft, non-sticky feel. It's gentle enough that even those with super sensitive skin could likely use it well. After applying and letting it sit for a while, it feels as smooth and soft as if you've applied powder. I have dry skin, but even with the soft finish, I didn't feel any deep dryness.
ConsThose who are sensitive to scents might want to consider carefully before buying. It has a slight medicinal ointment smell (in my personal opinion). However, the scent isn't overpowering. You might notice the fragrance while applying, but it dissipates quickly.

There's almost no stickiness right after application. Texture: It's closer to a cream consistency. Scent: Completely fragrance-free. White cast: There's a subtle, slight white cast. Recommended skin types: Dry, sensitive, combination
ConsThe slight white cast makes me wonder if it's suitable for children to use. I wish the SPF was a bit higher.

Sun Protection: SPF38 / PA+++ While 38 might seem relatively low compared to many sunscreens offering SPF50 these days, it still provides about 9 hours of protection. The PA+++ rating also indicates high UVA protection. Unless it's the peak of summer, this should offer decent sun protection for most situations. Application: The fluid texture applies smoothly without any stickiness, creating a very thin, lightweight layer. It's particularly suitable for those with dry skin. Kids would find it easy to apply, and it's also simple to remove, which is a plus.
ConsWhile the SPF isn't necessarily disappointing, there are so many high SPF sunscreens available now that in comparison, this one might give the impression of not providing enough protection.
TipThis sunscreen from Hwahae seems to strike a balance between protection and wearability. It's especially good for those who prefer a lighter feel or have sensitive skin that doesn't tolerate heavier sunscreens well. The ease of application and removal makes it a practical choice for daily use, particularly for children or those new to using sunscreen regularly.
