I was really worried at first since my skin usually reacts badly to new products. Thankfully, this one didn't cause any irritation, redness, or skin flare-ups, which I really appreciated. The texture is rich but feels more like a light moisturizer than a thick cream. It goes on cool and light, without the painful stinging or eye irritation that often comes later with other products. It seems gentle enough even for kids to use! The sunscreen itself has a slight green tint that provides a natural tone-evening effect. Once absorbed, it blends seamlessly with your natural complexion without any noticeable white cast. The pump dispenser makes for hygienic use and easy control of the amount. Personally, I like to apply a thin layer for color correction right before my base makeup. This creates a clean canvas for foundation, and the hydrating sunscreen helps the base makeup apply smoothly. No pilling at all!
ConsWhile I haven't experienced major irritation or blemishes, I do notice it feels drier than expected after several hours (post-work). Being a water-based product, it seems to evaporate over time. Around 6-7 hours in, when the dryness sets in, I sometimes feel itchy. My mouth area tends to get dry first, and on particularly dry days, I've noticed some dead skin cells appearing there.
TipIf you have extremely dry skin like mine, I'd say additional hydration throughout the day is a must! I use this for color correction too, and since it doesn't pill when reapplied, I add more on days when I'm only wearing sunscreen and feel dry. Before applying base makeup, I layer on the sunscreen generously. For extra dry areas, I add a thin layer of Vaseline. The sunscreen blends naturally even over the Vaseline without pilling, making it a truly valuable product for me.

Recently, I applied a random sunscreen and my skin immediately reacted badly. A large blemish appeared on my cheek, and numerous red spots popped up all over, looking like a cosmetic rash. But with summer approaching, I can't go without sunscreen! While researching products, I discovered that Abib's Heartleaf Sun Essence contains houttuynia cordata, so I decided to give it a try! After use: Whenever I apply products containing houttuynia cordata, I notice my redness subsides quickly! I kept my skincare routine as gentle as possible and used only this Abib sunscreen. After just 3 days, I saw a significant reduction in redness. Product advantages: Not only does it contain skin-friendly ingredients, but it's also nearly fragrance-free! As a mineral sunscreen, it applies smoothly without leaving a white cast, making it very easy to use. There's also no eye irritation that you sometimes get with poorly formulated sunscreens, so that's a big plus. I think this would be an excellent choice for those with combination dehydrated skin or dry skin types!
ConsThe price point and ingredients are really great! However, as distinct as its advantages are, so are its disadvantages, which is quite disappointing. Product disadvantages: First off, I really appreciated the simple packaging - a tube with a pump dispenser feels very hygienic. However, the quality of the tube and pump combination doesn't feel particularly high-end. When I first opened it, I had to pump several times before any product came out. It was so difficult to get the product out that I thought it might be defective. When I opened the pump to check inside, I noticed there wasn't the usual straw-like tube that connects to the pump in most products. This seems to be why the product comes out with little force. Also, for those with oily skin, this might feel a bit too rich!
TipFor dry skin: Apply a thorough base skincare routine, then this sunscreen, followed by foundation for an amazing result. For oily skin: This product might feel oilier than expected! It's best to keep your base routine simple before applying this sunscreen.

When I heard Abib released a new mineral sunscreen, I decided to give it a try. I'm pleased to say the ingredients are definitely gentle, and I didn't experience any blemishes. As expected with mineral sunscreens, there is some white cast, but it's not too severe. I love the cute design, and personally, I'm a fan of the pump dispenser, so the packaging gets a thumbs up from me. I noticed the product color matches the packaging color, which is different from the green-tinted mineral sunscreen I used before. Overall, I'm satisfied with the adorable design elements.
ConsHowever, there were some aspects that didn't quite work for my skin type. Even when using less than the recommended amount, I still felt a heavy, uncomfortable feeling on my face. While the application and white cast are typical for a mineral sunscreen, it felt as heavy as an organic sunscreen after application. I think this would be better suited for those with dry skin who are looking for a non-drying mineral sunscreen, rather than those with oily or combination skin.
TipI wouldn't recommend this for people with oily skin!
