This is a game-changer for concealing large pores! I always use a primer when applying makeup due to my numerous pores of various sizes. As a result, I've tried nearly every primer on the market. While most primers effectively cover small pores, they struggle with larger ones. However, this primer excels at hiding even the most prominent pores. Its firm mousse texture is perfect for concealing large pores. After applying this and layering foundation on top, you can achieve a beautifully blurred skin effect without worrying about visible pores! The heavy feel and thick application are somewhat disappointing. The glass packaging makes it quite weighty in your makeup bag. The jar format is inconvenient to use; I wish it came in a tube instead. Not recommended for those primarily concerned with small pores! To combat the heavy, thick feel, try this technique: First, apply it to areas with large pores using a rolling motion with your fingers. Then, use a brush to gently sweep away any excess product. This method helps minimize the heavy sensation and thick application! - el********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinRednessRecommendedNov 22, 2024
There's nothing quite like this for the T-zone. It's as soft and fluffy as a cloud, and when you apply it with a small, flat brush to fill in your pores, it works wonders as a base. Sometimes when I use pore primers, I get blemishes, but if I cleanse thoroughly, I don't have any issues with this one. The texture is super soft and squishy, so you really need to control the amount you use! A tiny bit goes a long way - it's barely there, but it works! To fill in your pores, gently massage it in horizontally once, then vertically once. - o_*****Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedAug 1, 2024
Bought this product because of its popularity! The initial application is smooth, and its primer effect is undeniable! Unavoidable dryness after use (is there no such thing as a hydrating primer?) The makeup tends to separate after using this primer. When applied around the eyes, it causes the makeup to pill. I guess it's not suitable for the eye area. They say it's best to apply primer after sunscreen, but that made my makeup separate. I found that applying it before sunscreen actually gives the prettiest, most effective result. - be********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsJul 24, 2024
While primers are typically thick, this one feels lighter in comparison Despite its small size and many positive reviews, I couldn't really notice any significant effects - ji**********Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedJun 18, 2024
For those with dry skin, this product creates a blurry and smooth finish without drying out the skin. When you apply foundation on top, it gives a super thin powdery finish as if you've already set your makeup, even without using actual powder. It seems to enhance the foundation color naturally and beautifully. I thought it was great after trying it on the first day, but since the texture seemed like it might clog pores and cause blemishes, I observed it for a few days. I'm leaving this review now because it didn't cause any blemishes. It's not really a downside, but something some people might not like is that it makes your skin look more made-up than natural. I have a deep undertone and light skin, and the more noticeable my makeup is, the heavier it looks, which reduces my appeal. Right after applying this, it gives a bit of that effect, though this isn't related to the product's effectiveness. After some time, when it mixes slightly with my natural oils, it looks better! Apply only a small amount by gently patting and blending to avoid a heavy appearance. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 30, 2024
The texture definitely feels heavier than other primers, giving the impression that it really fills in the pores well If you apply too much, it seems to pill quite a bit. Other than that, no issues - gu******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedApr 26, 2024
First off, my skin type is combination, and the T-zone where I apply primer tends to get quite oily, almost like greasy skin. I have sensitive skin that's prone to blemishes if a product doesn't suit me well. The L'Oreal Paris Base Magic Primer definitely delivers on its promises! It effectively fills in pores, controls oil, and provides a fantastic blurring effect in the areas where it's applied. The results are truly impressive! How to use: Apply after your regular skincare routine. If you use a brightening moisturizer with SPF, use the primer before that. If you use a regular sunscreen without brightening effects, apply the primer after your sunscreen. Given its strong mattifying effect, those with dry skin might feel it accentuates dead skin cells. It seems to be more suitable for those with oily skin. However, if you have dry skin and still want to try it, I suggest using my combination method below - it should help address some of the dryness issues! I've been using a combination recommended by a YouTuber for almost a month now, and it works so well for me without causing any blemishes. It's become an essential item in my makeup pouch! Since I use a brightening moisturizer with SPF, my routine goes like this: Skincare > L'Oreal Paris Primer > Yeonjaek Base Prep > Brightening Sunscreen I follow this order every day before applying makeup. It helps my makeup adhere better, covers pores completely, and gives a beautiful skin finish. Even when my makeup starts to wear off later in the day, it fades gracefully, and the oil control helps prevent it from breaking down quickly. I'm extremely satisfied with the results! This is a genuine review of a product I purchased with my own money. As someone who used to stress over large pores and redness on my nose, this combination has significantly helped address those concerns. If you've been struggling with similar issues, I encourage you to give it a try and trust my recommendation. The L'Oreal Paris Primer + Yeonjaek Base Prep combo is gentle on the skin and provides the ultimate skin finish. - qh******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 8, 2024
♥ The texture is between a primer balm and cream, applying smoothly to effectively fill in pores. ♥ A little goes a long way, making it a cost-effective product with a reasonable amount for the price. • The pot packaging requires a separate spatula for hygienic application. • Applying too much or rubbing for too long can cause pilling. • The glass container makes me worry about potential breakage when packing for trips like overseas travel. - vz********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 19, 2024
It covers well and leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and powdery. The texture is slightly firm, reminiscent of a cleansing balm. Unfortunately, it caused my makeup to pill and felt too drying for me. I think those with combination dehydrated skin might find it quite drying as well. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinNov 22, 2023
It works great as a primer, leaving a slightly powdery finish, and you get a generous amount! I can't really tell if it's doing anything, so I've stopped using it. It's just sitting in a corner now...
