Clinique's Cheek Pop is a baked blush, so it seems to have no excess powder fallout. It provides a transparent and clear color payoff that doesn't become cakey or too intense. You might have wondered if it's worth the price, but compared to other blushers, you'll fall in love with Cheek Pop's unique watercolor-like hues that melt into your skin. It definitely has merits in terms of pigmentation and texture. I have a winter cool tone strong type with neutral skin that leans yellow, and thanks to the clear color that builds up beautifully even after multiple applications, it was perfect for creating a pretty lavender-pink makeup look! Pansy Pop is a medium-brightness, high-chroma lavender blusher. While many review photos show it as very purple, on the face it's actually about 70-80% cool pink, resulting in a light purple-pink shade! As you layer it, the color intensity increases without becoming muddy, so it might be a bit challenging for dark or mute tones. I'd recommend it for summer cool light, summer cool true, winter cool bright, and strong types. Pansy Pop, being a lavender shade, will definitely suit those with a cooler undertone better than those with a more neutral complexion. The pigmentation allows for thin, light layering, creating a natural 'barely-there' look that all cool-toned individuals can utilize well! Looking at the swatch, even though I've layered it heavily with my finger, you can see the sophisticated pearl finish and how it blurs beautifully without being excessive. Notice how the color remains clear in the photo despite multiple applications? This is absolutely my holy grail blusher! The color payoff tends to be weak with most standard blush brushes on the market. While I recommend using a sponge puff, if you prefer brushes, you might want to use one with dense, even bristles. For cushion puffs, dab the product onto the puff, then start patting it onto your skin from where you want the most color, blending outwards to soften the edges. For layering, keep tapping and repeating until you achieve your desired intensity. Puffs and sponges give much better color payoff than brushes, so always test on the back of your hand first! - g5***Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 10, 2023
I was hesitant at first, thinking it might be too bold just looking at the true color. But when I heard it was perfect for cool tones, I decided to give it a try! I'm absolutely thrilled with the results. As someone with a cool winter complexion, I found that when I carefully control the amount and layer it with Ballerina Pop, it looks absolutely stunning. The color is just my style! There's nothing particularly bad about it! If I had to pick something, maybe the price is a tad steep...? If you're using it alone, be sure to control the amount. But when you layer it with other products, it looks beautiful! - il**********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 2, 2022
It's truly beautiful when applied in winter. The watercolor-like pigmentation gives a clear, translucent finish that's absolutely gorgeous. Having to use a sponge for application can be a bit of a hassle. Other than that, I'm quite satisfied. - jk*****Dry SkinInner DrynessRecommendedOct 20, 2022
The color payoff is great. When I apply the cool-toned shade, it brightens my complexion. Among the purple shades, this one has a more intense saturation. Instead of applying it all over, I use it as a subtle accent after applying a softer lavender base. Initially, before using the light purple, I would apply it like a watercolor wash all over and then add an extra layer for emphasis. But after purchasing another product in a very light purple shade, I now use this one solely as an accent. It's a bit disappointing that it doesn't come with a brush like Benefit's products do, but it's fine since I don't usually use brushes anyway. I apply it with my fingers. The color payoff is good. I love that it's a baked formula. The color payoff is beautiful and it lasts really well on the skin. With the pan-type blush, you need to be careful with the amount you apply. If you use too much, it can look quite unnatural, so make sure to control the quantity well. - sh****Dry SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedSep 16, 2022
A lifesaver for cool-toned skin. It's a summer shade with a formula perfect for the hot season - well done! What's up with these ingredients?! Come on Clinique, even for a color product, you should pay more attention to the formulation. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedAug 20, 2022
Highly recommended for winter cool tones. The color is absolutely beautiful and seems to suit me well. It's a bit tricky to apply - it feels like it's going on smoothly, but also not quite. This actually makes it easier to control the amount you use. There's a slight excess when applying, though. - ju********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresAug 6, 2022
When wearing makeup, this product gives your skin a radiant look, and being a baked formula, there's no excess powder flying around. The color payoff is great, so you don't need to apply multiple layers, which is a plus. If you have blemish-prone skin, it might emphasize redness around troubled areas, making them more noticeable. I wouldn't recommend this for those with redness issues as it could exacerbate the appearance. Also, if you carry the blush around, there's a small chance it might detach from the case if dropped or if you happen to get a product with weaker adhesion. If applied heavily, gently patting over it with a light layer of foundation or cushion can actually help the color blend more naturally, minimizing any drawbacks and creating a beautiful finish. When using a brush, opt for a smaller blush brush rather than a large powder brush to prevent over-application and achieve a more natural, subtle color. For a more intense look, build up the color with 2-3 layers. Using a puff can result in more vibrant color payoff. If your eye area isn't sensitive (note that this is a blush and hasn't undergone eye safety testing), you can use it as an eyeshadow for a cohesive, natural makeup look. Matching your eye color to your blush can elevate your overall makeup game. In case the blush pan separates from the compact, you can reattach it using adhesive. - du*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJul 31, 2022
For those with a light undertone, this blush gives a delicate, soft look. The tiny shimmer particles create a beautiful sparkle. What's more, it's easy to control the amount you apply. There's no real downside, except you need to apply quite a bit with the brush. However, once applied, it looks beautiful. It's pricey, but worth every penny. - pu********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinJul 1, 2022
I love how it doesn't feel heavy when applied and the color payoff is pretty good too! It seems to clash a bit with lighter undertones, which is a bit disappointing.
