It effectively covers pores and uneven texture. I'm very satisfied that I don't need to use a separate primer, as it doesn't settle into pores. As I have combination skin, one downside is its longevity. It works best when applied with the Shu Uemura special puff. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJan 13, 2019
The coverage was great, and I loved how it glided on smoothly like water. It absorbs beautifully into the skin. Unfortunately, it doesn't last long, breaks down unattractively, and looks too matte on the skin. I found that applying it with a dense brush helped improve its longevity somewhat. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinJun 25, 2018
I have challenging skin conditions - super textured skin, huge pores, and extremely oily skin. I've tried every product that claims to cover pores and texture effectively. The standouts are Shu Uemura's pore foundation, Estée Lauder's foundation, and Laura Mercier's foundation. Since this is about Shu Uemura, I'll focus on that. Both the old and new Shu Uemura formulas apply smoothly, better than the other two products. It makes me feel good when I apply it. It really seems like a pore-perfecting foundation (but only for about 2 hours...). I understand why people raved about the pre-reformulation version! It tends to settle into lines, cling to dry patches, and doesn't last very long. In terms of performance, I'd rank them: Estée Lauder >= Laura Mercier >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Shu Uemura (total fail). If you're tired of Estée Lauder, Laura Mercier is worth trying. Since it breaks down so easily, you might want to use a very thin base product and let it absorb well before applying, or finish with a lot of setting powder and reapply frequently. That seems necessary for this foundation. The Shu Uemura shade I use is 774 (might be 774 if you're lighter than me). It has a yellowish tone. Currently, I'm using Double Wear in Cool Vanilla. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinJun 5, 2018
When applied, it feels moisturizing and gives my face a beautiful glow. As someone who's stressed about pores, I'm happy to say it covers them well too! Unfortunately, the staying power isn't great. And when it starts to wear off, it fades in a way that makes my skin look dull. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinOct 28, 2017
I recently repurchased this product after it was renewed. Compared to the foundation I usually use, this one is more hydrating, so I plan to use it during the fall and winter seasons. The petal brush works really well with it. It's easier to control and apply makeup quickly than I expected. It also covers my pores nicely. The finish is both dewy and powdery. The coverage isn't bad, but the longevity could be better. When it starts to break down, my pores become more visible, so touch-ups are necessary... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAug 3, 2017
It applies more lightly than the Gumogongpade. It contains moisture. The overall color has become too bright. It differs by almost one tone from Gumogongpade 774. The coverage and longevity have also weakened. And it seems that in order to achieve a lightweight application, the unique smooth skin expression and the advantage of beautifully fading away of the Gumogongpade have been lost... Personally, I'm very disappointed with the renewal. It's not to the point where I can't use it, so I'll finish using the one I bought, but... I'm not sure if I'll repurchase after using it up. The reason I used the Mogongpade, even enduring the radiation, was because I was so satisfied with it, but now that it's like this, I'll have to look for another foundation again. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 18, 2017
Achieves a smooth skin expression Can be applied lightly Can choose a color that suits you Coverage and longevity are very, very, very disappointing Price...?
