It's matte and affordable, but honestly, that's about all it has going for it. The moment you apply it, you get a cakey, powdery mess. Even after exfoliating dead skin cells, it still happens. - ja******Dry SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessNov 26, 2017
As someone who prefers matte lips, I bought this and I'm absolutely smitten! It doesn't emphasize dead skin cells much, which is a relief. I've always worn lip products with fluorescent undertones, but I decided to try a more toned-down color this time, and it's gorgeous. When applied as a full lip, it's absolutely fantastic. This shade would look even more stunning on those with warm complexions. The scent is a bit ambiguous... I don't think it's a fragrance that will appeal to everyone. It works even better when paired with matte makeup. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinNov 23, 2017
The color is absolutely gorgeous! It's a beautiful orange nude shade that's perfect for everyday wear. Although it's matte, it doesn't excessively highlight dead skin cells. The packaging doesn't even look like typical Missha - it's so pretty! The transparent lid is fantastic, allowing you to instantly check the color. The scent... well, it wasn't exactly my preferred fragrance. But honestly, that's about the only drawback I could find! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopic SkinOct 12, 2017
For a matte lipstick, it applies beautifully! It glides on smoothly, which I really appreciate. The color is undeniably gorgeous. I usually have issues with dead skin cells and lip lines, but this doesn't emphasize those problems at all. Plus, the packaging looks so luxurious, which is a nice bonus. Well... I haven't really noticed any drawbacks yet. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 8, 2017
First off, the color is absolutely stunning. It's just too beautiful... And the staying power is impressive. It's like a cockroach that survives even after slurping down a bowl of spicy seafood noodles. Despite being a matte lip product, it doesn't emphasize dead skin cells or settle into fine lines like other moisturizing lip products often do. I used to hate matte lipsticks because of the flaking, but this one? I love you! The scent is like your mom's 10-year-old makeup. While I'm generally sensitive to smells, this one makes me feel nauseous. It's so strong that if you wear it while eating, you might end up on an unintended diet. Of course, that doesn't stop me from eating heartily anyway. Make sure to pat it on gently when applying. Otherwise, it's like putting your lips under a microscope - you'll be able to see every bit of dead skin cells you never knew existed. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 6, 2017
The color seems perfect for applying right now! I recommend using it as a base. I also love that it has a transparent cap, making it easy to check the color. I haven't found any drawbacks yet. If I notice any as I continue using it, I'll add them later. It looks beautiful when you apply Merida Brown as a base and Joyful Ann on the inner part of your lips. Even without Joyful Ann, Merida Brown works really well as a base color. - tn*******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresSep 29, 2017Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

Perfect for this season. I've always favored bright reds or oranges, but after winning this from The Hwahae Testers, I tried a more muted color for the first time. Surprisingly, I quite like it! When applied, it gives off a very feminine vibe... It's also a lovely coral shade. Paired with a knit sweater, this lipstick gives you that warm, approachable senior colleague look - like someone who's got all the answers. I love it! While it's great on its own, it also works wonderfully as a base color for lip layering, creating a natural look. Personally, I like to apply Merida Reun first, then dab some of my go-to The Saem Dangerous shade in the center of my lips. Being in the coral family, it pairs nicely with orange lip products. If you don't exfoliate, it might not adhere well to your lips. To be honest, I deducted a star because of the dead skin cells issue... Some reviews mentioned a lipstick scent, and while I'm not particularly bothered by it, I can't deny there is a slight smell. However, it's not overpowering, so I'd still recommend it unless you're extremely sensitive to scents! Also, since it's a matte lipstick, you might consider it a drawback that you need to layer it with a lip gloss or moisturizing tint if you want a glossy finish. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSep 27, 2017Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

It glides on smoothly without clumping, giving a crisp and sleek finish. If you exfoliate your lips well, you can achieve a beautiful look. The staying power and adherence are also great. The case has a sophisticated matte finish, and the best part is the clear lid that lets you see the color right away. The shade 'Merida Brown' has more of a white undertone than expected. Those who look best in dried rose or brick colors might find it makes their face appear sallow. Since I really can't pull off white undertones, I use it as a base and layer other colors on top. My mom thought it was the same as the Bbia shade, but this one has a much more orange tone (personally, I think it's more orange than brown). Orange shades don't suit me, so while I could use the Bbia one even during the day, I can't do the same with this. (October update) 1. The bottom swatch in the second photo is Merida Brown. The others are lipsticks I regularly use. On an LG phone, the color appears very close to how it looks in real life. 2. Photos 3 and 4 show Merida Brown layered with Bbia Old Rose (top right in the second photo). I was already satisfied with Missha's Matte Lip Lacquer, so I had high expectations. While it's marketed as matte, it applies smoothly and doesn't feel too matte to me. It seems to adapt its finish depending on the situation. I liked it so much that I went back to Missha and bought more shades! I have four colors: Merida Brown, Joyful Ann, Lovely Belle, and Wendy Land. Joyful Ann is similar to Mamonde's Red Pepper but a bit more subdued. Lovely Belle is an MLBB shade with a hint of pink. Wendy Land is a vibrant pink that reminds me of The Face Shop's Finger Gloss in Natural Pink. When I went to buy them, they had a promotion: buy two, get a 3-color lip palette free. So I bought three... Little did I know all the colors I bought were in the palette too! The color is much lighter than it appeared in photos. At first, I thought it would be similar to Joyful Ann based on the pictures, but it's not at all. It's more of an orange-tinted brown, if that's even the right description. Also, while the case has a matte coating that looks luxurious, it wears off easily when you carry it around, making it look shabby. It seems this is a common issue with Missha's matte line products, including their lip lacquers. The second swatch photo (image 2) shows three shades that are quite similar overall, especially on the right side of each swatch. The texture and overall feel are more accurately represented in the first swatch photo (image 1), so I hope this helps as a reference. For Merida Brown, the color in the second swatch photo seems to be the most accurate representation of the actual shade. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 25, 2017Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

Even without exfoliating or special skin prep, there was no clinging to dead skin cells. While matte, it's not overly drying. Still, I'd recommend pairing it with a lip balm. Longevity: It won't last all day without touch-ups, but the staying power is impressive. After applying a full lip, I blotted with a tissue - by the third blot, hardly any product transferred. A natural tint remains (see attached photo). Great longevity! Color: As a warm-toned person, I absolutely love it. It pairs perfectly with my NARS Sex Appeal blush, creating a natural coral look. This would be an excellent daily autumn shade for those with warm undertones. I suspect this color might not be the best match for those with cool undertones.
