Recently, my acne has improved a bit! Another The Ordinary product, their Niacinamide, is my holy grail... I used this product alongside it, and it noticeably faded my acne scars. I've been using it consistently every evening for over 4 months! While the effects aren't dramatic, it's definitely effective with consistent use. Plus, the affordable price is a huge advantage! This product proves that inexpensive doesn't mean ineffective!
ConsIt's challenging to use in the morning. I've tried it a few times, but it pills terribly under makeup. Even when applying it alone, the product itself seems to pill. You need to pat it in firmly for it to absorb properly!
TipUsing this with Niacinamide is amazing! Since this product contains a Vitamin C derivative rather than pure Vitamin C, it's safe to use alongside Niacinamide!

Unfortunately, I didn't see any results.
ConsFirst off, I was disappointed by the scent. It was also uncomfortable to use as it pilled like dead skin cells. Most importantly, I'm not sure if it had any effect at all. I used it almost to the end, but now I've stopped using it completely.

I've been overpaying for expensive brands for far too long!
ConsIf applied generously, it tends to pill like dead skin cells. After application, it leaves an oily feeling that lingers, sometimes making it difficult to rinse off cleanser the next morning.
TipWhen used alone, the pilling effect is more noticeable. Applying another serum before this one helps reduce the pilling.

Using it together with a zinc-infused ampoule seems to make it even better! The absorption is a bit less than regular creams, so you need to massage it in thoroughly.
ConsThe scent is slightly off-putting, and occasionally if you don't apply it correctly, it can pill like dead skin. Apart from these issues, it's pretty decent.

ConsI had high expectations, so I was quite disappointed. It doesn't seem to cover pores very well... Even when using a tiny amount - less than the size of my pinky nail - for the entire face, it still pills. I'm using it with The Ordinary foundation, and I'm not sure if they're incompatible, but it pills like niacinamide products do

Definitely feels like it brightens the complexion by a shade.
ConsPilling... It didn't suit my skin and caused small bumps. It's one of the two The Ordinary products I've discontinued using.

It's a cream with a pale yellow tint.
ConsWhen I applied it, it pilled so badly... I couldn't even use it properly. So I had to say goodbye to it before I could even experience its effects.

When you apply it, it pills like an eraser. It's okay when used alone, but when combined with niacinamide, it pills terribly. They say these two products should be used together for synergy, but oh my, it really pills badly. I recommend using niacinamide on its own.
ConsEverything was disappointing, especially the pilling. And it was way too drying.

I've been dealing with redness, patchy pigmentation, and enlarged pores as long-term effects of acne. Since I was concerned about facial pigmentation, excess oil, and redness, I was recommended to try niacinamide and magnesium ascorbyl (apparently, they have a synergistic effect when used together). So I purchased these two products along with rosehip oil - a total of three items! I'm using all three products, so I can't pinpoint which one is responsible for the improvements, but I feel compelled to highly recommend all of them, hence this review. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not sure if it's solely due to this product, but I notice my pigmentation fading and my redness calming down. Using it alongside niacinamide, I feel my complexion has significantly brightened, and I'm extremely satisfied with the results. I'm currently using about a pea-sized amount, gently patting it into my skin!
ConsSince this product doesn't contain added fragrances to create a pleasant scent, some people might find the smell a bit off-putting. Personally, I prefer Sidmool and natural skincare products, so I'm used to this kind of raw ingredient scent and find it acceptable. It's tolerable enough for regular use. If you're sensitive to scents, I wouldn't recommend this! The product pills if you rub it in, so I pat it into my skin multiple times! I use about a pea-sized amount. Because of this, I sometimes skip using it in the morning!
TipUse it together with niacinamide for a super-powered synergistic effect!

It works hard to even out my skin tone!
ConsThere are more drawbacks than I expected. First, the scent is stronger than anticipated - it's quite potent when applying, though it settles down afterwards. Also, it's not very smooth and tends to pill. It seems only suitable for a nighttime routine as it's extremely thick and doesn't absorb well.
TipAdding about 3 drops of camellia or jojoba oil helps it spread more easily and improves the absorption!
