I had tried a famous cica cream from another brand that completely irritated my face. But after applying this one, the next day my skin's redness had noticeably calmed down.
ConsThere are no downsides. This product works so well for me that I'll definitely be repurchasing it.

Whenever that happens, applying this product helps my blemishes subside faster than usual. After cleansing, it reduces deep dryness and the rapid disappearance of blemishes is definitely its biggest advantage.
ConsGiven my oily skin type, if I apply even a bit too much, it can lead to excess oil production and increased sebum secretion.
TipOn days when you're dealing with blemishes or skin flare-ups, skip your toner and other products after cleansing. Instead, apply a thin layer of this directly. It works without causing any irritation.

After that, I stayed away from Kiehl's even though everyone raved about it. But then I found my holy grail!!!!!!!! I went to buy a birthday gift for a friend and got a sample. I stopped using my usual drugstore cica cream and used this for just 3 days - the improvement in my skin texture was dramatic!!!! I've been loyal to it ever since. I'm now on my second bottle, and it's always perfect for my skin no matter when I use it. Price/Amount: Honestly, the amount isn't that generous for the price...That's always been a bit disappointing. Moisture/Oil balance: I have combination dehydrated skin, so I can't compromise on either oil or hydration. As it's a cica cream, it might lack moisture when used alone, but I apply it on my T-zone and U-zone, and add a moisturizer on areas like my cheeks. Skin improvement: Just a month after switching to cica, people asked if I was seeing a dermatologist. While it doesn't directly treat pores, the improvement in skin texture and soothing effect is undeniable. When I wear makeup, my pores are invisible, and everyone asks if I've changed my skincare because my skin looks so good! The friend I gifted it to is also very satisfied and has made it a staple in her routine.
ConsDrawbacks.... To be honest, it works so well for my skin that I don't have much to complain about... If I had to say something, maybe the price? But even then, compared to the cost of visiting a dermatologist, I think it's still reasonable.
TipIt's particularly effective when applied to areas with blemishes or redness~ The next morning when you wake up, the redness will have completely subsided!!

I didn't experience any additional blemishes while using it.
ConsIt feels quite drying and slightly irritating on the skin. If you apply it before makeup, it's so drying that your makeup floats on top. You need to apply this cream, let it absorb fully, then layer on another moisturizer.

Here's what I found: 1. It's fantastic for those with super sensitive skin. I was a bit worried at first because I had a terrible reaction to a Kiehl's cream before, but this product is specifically designed to help sensitive skin. And wow... it's really great! When I use it on irritated skin at night, by the next morning, the irritation has significantly calmed down! Usually, when I apply something this rich before bed, I wake up with blemishes, but not with this. No breakouts the next morning - it's truly amazing! I'll definitely repurchase when I run out. 2. When you first squeeze it out, it's quite thick and a bit difficult to dispense. However, once you start applying it, it absorbs well into the skin. I thought it might feel heavy, but it's actually not as thick as I expected, allowing for thorough application all over the face. 3. This may vary from person to person, but to me, it seems unscented. There's no particularly strong fragrance, just a slightly earthy smell? But it's not noticeable enough to be bothersome.
ConsThe price is a bit steep in my opinion. 49,000 won is quite a lot... Also, it's not like you'll see dramatic, instant results. It seems like the kind of product that would be beneficial with consistent, long-term use.
TipLikelihood of repurchasing: 80% Oh, I thought I lost my review, but thankfully it was auto-saved! Hwahae is the best!

Texture: The consistency is rich and creamy, and you can feel some oiliness when applied. This review is based on consistent use for about a week and a half, both morning and evening. Skin type: I have extremely dry skin with redness and sensitivity. In fall and winter, I experience flaking dead skin cells. My skin even tends to react badly when seasons change, so I'm constantly on the hunt for new skincare products. During seasonal transitions, my preferred moisturizer criteria are: 1. Deep hydration 2. Rich texture to match the hydration 3. Gentle on my sensitive skin without irritation 4. Soothing or regenerating properties The Kiehl's moisturizer met all four of these conditions! It gently provided both hydration and richness to my dry and sensitive skin simultaneously. (I'm not sure if it's because I've only used it for a week and a half, but I haven't noticed any regenerative effects.) Regarding ingredients, I don't necessarily believe that all-natural products are always gentle. Sometimes when I've used products based solely on their natural ingredients, my skin has actually reacted badly. So, I subjectively determine if a product is gentle by trying it on my face and seeing if there's any adverse reaction. (This approach has actually helped me find skincare products that work much better for my skin.) In conclusion, I think this is a product that can be safely used during seasonal transitions.
ConsHowever, when I only applied essence and this product, I started to feel some dryness after 5-6 hours. As the weather gets colder, I needed to either mix this product with an oil or apply a hydrating moisturizer before using this product in a thin layer.
TipIf I use a hydrating essence and moisturizer as a base before applying this cream, and then layer this product on top before going to bed, I wake up to find that my blemishes have calmed down! (I noticed a soothing effect on the small skin troubles I get before and after my period.)

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsAs someone with super sensitive skin, I used to adore Kiehl's products and tried their entire line about four years ago. However, after my skin reacted badly and even Kiehl's sensitive moisturizer caused itching, I switched to completely gentle products. Now, after a long time, I've tried Kiehl's again. I needed a cica cream right after getting forehead fillers when my skin was extremely sensitive, and I was surprised by how gentle this product was. The texture is like an ointment, thick and firm - you need to apply a bit of pressure to change its shape. But once you spread it, it absorbs surprisingly quickly. I've tried many famous cica creams like Bioderma, Innisfree, La Roche-Posay, and Avène, but I think this one manages the typical shininess of cica creams well. After it's fully absorbed, you can even apply makeup. It also has a great soothing effect on sensitive skin!
ConsWhen applying in the morning, you need to make sure it's fully absorbed to prevent pilling with makeup.
TipGiven its thick consistency, make sure to spread it well and allow time for absorption. It's helpful to use the warmth of your palms, gently pressing onto your face to aid absorption.

My skin was severely breaking out, with acne spreading down to my neck. When I applied this to the neck area, I noticed it calmed down after some time. Product packaging: The tube-type container makes it easy to squeeze out and use.
ConsExtremely rich texture: I have combination dehydrated skin with a slightly oily T-zone. Initially, I applied it all over my face, but it produced an excessive amount of oil, so I switched to using it only on specific areas. Even on my drier areas (excluding the T-zone), it made my skin so oily that while some existing blemishes cleared up, new ones appeared. Due to the high oil content, I even developed a few blackheads in my T-zone. Thick consistency: The texture is incredibly thick, almost to the point of being solid. It's too heavy to use with just toner, so I recommend applying a light moisturizer or serum before using this product. I used it for about 3 days and now only use it occasionally. It's not a product I reach for very often.
TipThe thick, oily texture can cause pilling when mixed with other skincare products. I recommend using it primarily in the evening.

My skin profile: Combination dehydrated, super sensitive, prone to redness and irritation Age: 45 I've tried everything from budget to high-end products if they work for me. I can afford good skincare, so I've experimented extensively. SK-II causes irritation, but Su:m37 suits me well. The Face Shop and Etude House don't agree with my skin, but Innisfree does. Tonymoly irritates me, but domestic island-based brands work well. Sulwhasoo is so-so, as are Genie Pie and Clinique. You can imagine how much of a skincare nomad I've been, right? It's been incredibly challenging. I've truly tried everything from department stores to road shops, natural products, and door-to-door sales. There's hardly anything I haven't used. Kiehl's Cica Cream: Texture: It's like applying solidified coconut oil that melts seamlessly into your skin with your body heat! Hydration: While it's not completely devoid of moisture, there's a feeling of oil sitting on top of the skin after absorption. Blemishes: I applied this after only using my regular toner, as I had just spent three days in the hospital with my skin in a reactive state. The next day, I was amazed to see my skin had calmed down significantly. However, due to only using toner underneath, some dryness was inevitable.
ConsIt would be absolutely perfect if it could provide more hydration, but its effectiveness on redness and irritation is so remarkable that I can forgive this shortcoming. Hmm, the ingredients aren't particularly 'clean' either. However, it seems that products with perfect functionality rarely have completely 'clean' ingredients.
TipFor best results, apply toner and essence, followed by a non-greasy moisturizer, before using this cica cream. This layering technique ensures hydration while allowing the cica cream's oily components to create a protective barrier, keeping your skin from drying out until the next day.
