It's great for targeting problem areas, and with consistent use, it has a soothing effect on blemishes.
ConsWhile it has a rich feel, the hydration level isn't quite as impressive, which is a bit disappointing.

It doesn't cause any blemishes~ Being a cica cream, it doesn't trigger any breakouts. 2. The scent is pleasant! Some products have an overpowering natural smell that can be a bit off-putting when applying, but this one has a nice fragrance~
Cons1. It feels quite rich on the skin.. While it doesn't necessarily cause blemishes, I'm a bit hesitant when applying it.. 2. It's too thick, making it difficult to spread and absorb well.. It might be better to apply this at night before bed rather than in the morning. 3. It feels more like an ointment than a cream.. It's a bit too heavy for daily use.

However, I've found that applying this product to the affected area for a few days works wonders, making it perfect for those situations.
ConsThe formula is extremely rich and has a thick, ointment-like texture. Since I have combination skin with oily areas on my forehead, nose, and chin, it's not suitable for applying all over my face.
TipFor those of you who experience flaking and peeling around your nose and mouth due to dryness, applying this product to those specific areas for a few days can be really effective.

As someone with oily skin, I found it a bit heavy, so I only applied it to my cheeks. Even with full makeup, I noticed a reduction in dryness.
ConsHowever, it seems the product was too rich for my oily skin. Even when I applied a thin layer all over my face, I started breaking out around my chin area. I tried to persevere, but after a month, I had to give up using it.
TipThe texture is quite thick, so I found it easier to apply when I mixed it with a bit of essence that I usually use before cream. This made the application more manageable.

Kiehl's cica cream is comparatively quite rich in texture. Low irritation: There was absolutely no irritation. When I apply it before bed, I can definitely feel a soothing effect, making it perfect for sensitive dry skin.
ConsWhile the product's effectiveness isn't bad, some additional aspects don't suit my skin well, so I probably won't reach for it often. Absorption: The formula is quite rich and thick with a lot of oil, which makes me hesitant to apply too much. I thought it would be similar to La Roche-Posay balm, but it's extremely rich, making it more suitable for dry skin rather than oily skin. Scent: Like other Kiehl's products, it has a strong medicinal scent that isn't particularly appealing. It might be polarizing. Price: The price is relatively high considering the amount you get.

Whenever that happens, applying this product helps my blemishes subside faster than usual. After cleansing, it reduces deep dryness and the rapid disappearance of blemishes is definitely its biggest advantage.
ConsGiven my oily skin type, if I apply even a bit too much, it can lead to excess oil production and increased sebum secretion.
TipOn days when you're dealing with blemishes or skin flare-ups, skip your toner and other products after cleansing. Instead, apply a thin layer of this directly. It works without causing any irritation.

Except for summer, I have extremely sensitive and severely dry skin for three seasons, and nothing else compared. After the reformulation, there are some aspects I miss, but there are still many advantages worth mentioning. The cream has just the right amount of richness, so I don't feel any dryness after application. It's also perfect for redness. My skin is thin and sensitive, so I'm prone to flushing, but when I apply this generously, it calms down. Especially when I use it at night, I wake up in the morning with noticeably improved skin texture. I've probably used over 20 tubes from the Centella Recovery Cream to this Cica Cream. For repairing damaged skin, I haven't found anything better in this price range yet.
ConsPersonally, I preferred the texture of the cream before the reformulation. The current formula is quite thick and stiff, making it a bit challenging for me, as a dry skin type, to apply when my face lacks moisture. So, I apply it right after using an essence. However, I don't think it would be suitable for those with oily skin. While it works for me because I have extremely dry skin that lacks moisture and benefits from rich products, its high oil content might not be ideal for acne-prone or oily skin types. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with it. For dry skin, it could be a year-round essential.

ConsThe product feels quite thick, and when used at night, those with oily skin types might find it leaves an unpleasant, greasy feeling. I've been using it for over a year since my skin reacted badly, but I haven't seen any signs of improvement in my complexion.

The overall formulation isn't exceptional, so I'd suggest patch testing first. It works well in combination with the routine I'm currently using: Kiehl's Calendula Toner + Calendula Water-based Serum Cream (can't remember the exact name) + this cica cream. For my sensitive, combination skin that's prone to occasional blemishes during seasonal changes or menstrual cycles, this combination helps calm my skin and I'm satisfied with the results.
ConsApplication -> It's extremely thick and sticky. When applied, it produces a lot of oil, so controlling the amount is crucial. Not recommended for oily skin types during daytime use, and it might feel a bit heavy even in summer. Prepare for an oil slick!

Personally, I prefer fragrance-free products and actually enjoy medicinal or ointment-like smells, so I'm satisfied with the scent of this one. It's great to apply on dry days! I applied a light toner first, then used this cream all over my face as an emulsion substitute. I didn't feel like it was overly rich at all!
ConsThe richness wasn't particularly bothersome. When applied on days my skin feels very dry in fall or winter, it's similar in richness to other regular moisturizers! However, this isn't a moisturizer, it's a cica cream... so for a cica cream, it's on the richer side! It's fine on other areas, but around the nose, it starts to feel oily about 5 minutes after application. If it's like this in winter, I don't think I could use it in summer when my skin gets super oily... I'll have to apply it at night before bed instead of before putting on makeup!
