The acne I've been struggling with for ten years has completely disappeared... ๐ Incredibly reasonable price ๐ Simple ingredient composition (which divides opinions) ๐ Fragrance-free ๐ Scars are also gradually fading (but not disappearing completely) A lifelong essential... Those suffering from acne, buy it right now! ---------2023.08.15--------- I'm still using it well, and as a former acne expert, I no longer have any acne...(only one or two when I'm lazy with exfoliation). Those struggling with acne... Be sure to use it at least once.
Cons๐ผ The only downside is that there is almost nothing disappointing, and I only found this product after developing acne scars from the breakouts.
Tip๐ท Apply a drop or two on each cheek and wait 15 minutes before applying the product ๐ท Dilute acidic products to avoid irritation when using them ๐ท Don't be greedy! Otherwise, your skin barrier will be compromised ๐ท The effects will start to show after about 2 weeks of consistent use ๐ท Once the acne has subsided to some extent, use it twice a week

Despite having sensitive skin, there was no irritation at all.
ConsI bought this because they said mandelic acid is a gentler exfoliating ingredient than AHA, but because of that, the exfoliating effect was not very noticeable, so I ended up looking for a stronger exfoliating product. But then, constantly using other exfoliating products, I was hesitant to use this one too, worried it might irritate my skin.

Among AHAs, mandelic acid has the largest molecular size, so it is the least irritating. However, this also means its exfoliating effect is more mild. My skin is prone to clogged pores and acne, so I need to exfoliate regularly. But in the dry winter, AHAs are better than BHAs, which can be more drying. I normally use the Paula's Choice BHA Liquid, but I use this product when my skin is dry and sensitive as a mild exfoliator. (Generally, oily, acne-prone skin responds better to BHAs than AHAs for acne improvement.) I do feel there is somewhat of a dilemma when it comes to winter exfoliation. In my case, the cold winds, dryness, and heating make my skin easily irritated and dehydrated, so I'm hesitant to use exfoliating products that could further aggravate my skin. But if I don't exfoliate, a layer of dead skin builds up, and even moisturizers can't properly penetrate. This product is barely irritating, so it seems perfect for breaking this vicious cycle.
ConsIt claims to be oil-free, but the texture feels oily to me. As an oily-skinned person, I don't particularly enjoy that type of feel.
TipThis is great to use as a mild exfoliator when your skin is sensitive or dry. Even when my skin is irritated, it doesn't sting or irritate at all. It seems genuinely gentle. It also contains hyaluronic acid to provide hydration, so it's an all-around good winter exfoliator to keep skin soft and smooth. If you want stronger exfoliation, you can try the lactic acid or glycolic acid products from The Ordinary - both are AHA options. And for oily, acne-prone skin, BHAs are generally more effective than AHAs for improving acne. (However, I believe AHAs are better for treating closed comedones and acne scarring.)

Then, add 3-5 drops of mandelic acid on top. 2๏ธโฃ Gently wipe your face with the mandelic acid-soaked cotton pad. You can also gently pat it in with your hands. 3๏ธโฃ After 2-30 minutes, proceed with your usual skincare routine. I'm currently using the Isol Propolis Ampoule (also great!) and two types of creams. โ Photo explanation You can see the effects the very next day! That's what happened to me. ๐ Before use, January 2nd ๐ After use, January 21st (The 'after' photo was just taken to write this review. Of course, it was even better before, but I stopped using it for a few days, so some acne came back.) The photos are not edited at all, just taken with a regular camera. When your skin is bad, it can look yellowish and dark...(don't we all agree?)
ConsThere aren't any cons yet. It reduces bumps and unevenness when applied to the body. There are no downsides, wow.
TipI used the method of spraying the liquid directly onto a cotton pad and then applying it, instead of applying it directly. Since I have sensitive skin, I plan to let my skin get used to the mandelic acid first, and then try applying it directly later on. The cotton pad method was already effective enough for me.

My skin is combination, oily even, so I need to consistently manage my dead skin, but it's quite tricky since my skin is also sensitive.๐ฅฒ I usually use AHA, BHA exfoliators and my skin would get irritated, but that's not the case with this one!๐ ๐Smooth skin texture The improvement in skin texture is noticeable, and the product worked quickly. When I apply it at night and go to sleep, I can see clearer skin in the morning!
ConsThere were no downsides! This product introduced me to the world of exfoliation.
TipFor AHA, it's best to wait 5-10 minutes after application before moving on to the next step (hydration) ^^

Since using the mandelic acid, my breakouts have significantly decreased. I think I'll continue using this product going forward.
ConsThere's really nothing bad to say. The oily-like feeling goes away quickly, and the fragrance isn't overly bothersome.
TipApply it and then wait before moving on to the next step of your skincare routine.

Of course, if I apply it even a little too much, pimples will still come up, but since I mix it into my skin toner and use it as a cleansing balm, my skin becomes smooth.
ConsIf there's one downside, it's that when I use it for the first time or after a long time, my face can get a bit dirty with some peeled-off dead skin the next day. It's fine right away if I replenish the moisture well, but if I use it when there's already a buildup of dead skin, my skin can look a bit dirty haha ใ ใ
TipUsing it alone is a bit too stimulating for sensitive skin, so you need to mix it into your toner, use it as a cleansing balm, and then apply a moisturizer thoroughly.

I have seen particularly good results for my acne.
ConsThe texture is quite light, like a mild oil, so it may feel a bit heavy if used on its own.
TipWhen mixed with essences, ampoules, or creams, the texture becomes really nice to use.

To list the advantages I've experienced while using it: - No irritation whatsoever - Noticeable effects after just one use - Completely cleared up my acne - Removed blackheads - Leaves my skin feeling moisturized after application True to its reputation as the mildest AHA, there was no stinging, redness, or any such side effects, not even when I applied it to blemished areas. It felt just like applying a regular facial oil at first, making me wonder if it would actually work, but lo and behold, my skin looked visibly different the very next morning. ใ ใ ใ ใ ใ The reviews on The Ordinary's website weren't exaggerating - people really do see results after just one or two uses. From the first day I started using it, my skin felt incredibly smooth to the touch. I was amazed, as I'd never experienced that before! I ended up applying it almost daily, and after 2 weeks, I've had zero irritation and the bumpy, uneven texture on my face has completely smoothed out. I used to have a lot of acne and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, but those have faded noticeably in just 2 weeks of use. I get excited every time I look in the mirror and see the changes in my skin! Even the stubborn blackheads on my T-zone have significantly diminished. Honestly, for the price you're getting 10% mandelic acid plus hyaluronic acid - you really should just go ahead and try it out.
ConsWhile it had dramatic effects on my acne, blackheads, hyperpigmentation, and skin texture, it didn't do much for my hormonal cystic acne. ใ ใ But even so, my skin just looks and feels so much better after using this product!
TipA must-try for anyone dealing with acne, hyperpigmentation, or sensitive skin who wants to use an AHA!

After switching to this product, I no longer need to use the peeling gel. It seems to effectively remove dead skin in a convenient way. The price is also reasonable. I used to mix it with a cream, and I found that doing so reduced irritation and helped the cream absorb better into my skin.
ConsThe smell is not great - it's quite unpleasant. It feels like I'm applying oil directly to my face. It's not thick enough, so when I use the dropper to apply it to my face, it just runs down and drips off. When I first start using it or if I haven't used it in a while, my skin feels stinging. The lid doesn't fit well.
TipAs mentioned in the instructions, it's best to mix this with a lotion or cream and use it 3 times a week in the evenings only.
