This is a lifesaver for those whose skin barrier collapses when taking antibiotics for acne! My chin was always covered in tiny bumps like clumped-up grain powder... Gone are the days of relying on antibiotics, just hoping the acne wouldn't get infected. Now my skin texture has become so smooth, I'm in awe thinking, 'So this is what normal skin feels like!' The scent? My husband can't stand it. And it's oilier than expected! So I use it more as a cream rather than a serum. I conquered those pesky bumps with this trio: Laneige Cream Skin, Ducray PP Cream, and Great Barrier Cream. Now I've cleared out all my acne-specific products. It's such a relief that I can even use fancy department store skincare without my skin throwing a fit! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinApr 23, 2020
It does an excellent job balancing oil and moisture. I especially recommend this for those with dry skin or struggling with small bumps! I usually love trying new products, but I plan to repurchase this one. It's a well-balanced essence that effectively combats deep dryness without being excessive or lacking. I felt like my skin barrier was improving. The scent is a bit herbal, you could say. It's a bit unusual, but you get used to it as you use it. I wish the quantity was a bit more, haha! As I have very dry skin, I used this product after a water-based first essence. It significantly reduced my blemishes and is also great for dryness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 15, 2020
I love how this serum deeply hydrates my skin without feeling sticky on the surface! It provides solid moisturization, and I think it's a well-crafted product with excellent soothing effects and barrier-strengthening properties. The downsides are that it's only available through official retailers, they don't offer sales, and the nutty scent might be polarizing. It's also pricey for the small amount you get. However, I trust and use it because it delivers such robust hydration. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMar 6, 2020
I usually don't get blemishes, but after switching foundations, I suddenly developed some on my forehead. A friend recommended this, so I gave it a try. I'm not a fan of oily finishes, so I only applied a small amount, but it quickly calmed my skin! I've also been dealing with seborrheic dermatitis on the tip of my nose, probably from wearing masks. I wondered if this might help since it's supposed to strengthen the skin barrier. After applying it for about two days, my skin was back to normal! While it not only prevented new blemishes but also cleared existing ones, I have very dry skin and found it satisfactory. However, those with extremely oily skin might not find it suitable! If you dislike oily finishes, try applying just a small amount to problem areas! You don't need to use it daily - it seems effective even when used only when your skin barrier feels weakened. The product claims to have brightening effects too, so I'm curious to see how much it will fade my recent acne scars. I'll keep using it and see! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 24, 2020
1. Contains Tamanu Oil I really liked that this product, true to its name 'Barrier Relief', contains a good amount of tamanu oil which is beneficial for the skin barrier. 2. Convincing Ingredients The gentle ingredients, especially those known to be good for the skin barrier, were reassuring. I believe if this product suits your skin, it could significantly help in strengthening your skin's resilience. 1. Lacks Distinct Characteristics With the existing multitude of skincare steps like toners, emulsions, essences, serums, and creams, a product with an unclear position and order in the routine needs to be exceptionally convincing in terms of effectiveness. It's burdensome for consumers to add another product rather than replace an existing one. Unfortunately, this product doesn't seem particularly hydrating like an essence, nor does it appear to have the smooth texture of an emulsion that would blend well with creams. 2. Drying Effect Strangely, despite containing oils, I felt my skin becoming slightly dry both on the surface and deeper layers. This could be due to formulation issues, though it might vary depending on skin type. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 16, 2020
This is my review after winning the Hwahae Testers event! Honestly, if I hadn't won this event, I probably wouldn't have spent my own money on a product from an unfamiliar brand. But through this opportunity, I never imagined I'd discover my holy grail ampoule! I've been using it for 3 days since receiving it, and I'm posting this review right away because it's so amazing. ♥ Skin that's becoming healthier!! True to its name, you can really feel your skin barrier recovering and becoming healthier. I have combination dehydrated skin that's prone to occasional blemishes and is super sensitive. I'm usually very cautious when changing skincare products, so I first tested it on the back of my hand and inner wrist. When I applied it to the back of my hand, it absorbed beautifully and the moisturizing effect lasted for a long time. I was shocked by the clear difference between the treated and untreated areas! Thinking 'This is pretty good!', I immediately applied it after cleansing and toning. It spread well even with a small amount, and after absorption, my skin felt wonderfully balanced. It's like it perfectly balances your skin? Personally, I like skincare that makes my skin feel firm, and while this leans more towards softness, I could feel my skin becoming more resilient underneath. It felt like it was balancing and restoring my skin to health!! Among the ampoules and essences I've used recently, its effects were noticeably superior. It truly lives up to its name!! I also really liked the green color and texture. I've temporarily set aside my usual ampoules and essences and have been using just this. After toning, I apply the Great Barrier and finish with Missha's purple ampoule cream. My skin stays hydrated until morning, and I haven't experienced any blemishes at all! The scent is... unfamiliar, haha! It smells like boswellia, which is supposed to be good for joints... While the scent disappears quickly after application, it's a bit off-putting during application. But the effects are so good that I can tolerate it. While it's great for winter and seasonal changes, I think it might feel a bit rich during summer. Don't apply too much - just use one or two pumps and spread it thinly and evenly. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 9, 2020
As someone with super sensitive skin prone to blemishes and severe redness, this product really helped address those issues. True to its name, it did an excellent job strengthening my skin barrier. I'm almost finished with my first bottle. While using this, my deep dryness has significantly improved (I no longer feel that intense tightness when sitting in a heated room like before). For my very oily skin, it felt a bit rich at first, so I started using it morning and night, but as my deep dryness improved, I gradually switched to using it only in the evenings. Surprisingly, as you use this... you suddenly realize, 'Oh?' and it's all gone! The volume is... well, like most essences, it's a bit disappointing. Now it's become a product I feel anxious without, so I'll be repurchasing. I'd like to use it as an emulsion alternative after winter, but then it'll probably run out even faster, unfortunately. Depending on your skin condition, you can apply it generously after an exfoliating toner, but even oily skin types can use it day and night without feeling heavy by applying a thin layer after a water-based toner. I can guarantee its effectiveness! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 3, 2020
- Restores the skin barrier damaged by folliculitis!!! No more words needed.... It's the best!!! As the skin barrier recovered, folliculitis almost disappeared, and I realized what it means to have truly resilient skin. - Helps balance oil and moisture levels - I prefer fragrance-free products, so I was worried the scent might be too strong, but when I actually used it, the fragrance was subtle and pleasant. - The packaging... It was frustrating that I couldn't use up all the product even though there was still some left inside. - Apply this product after using a hydrating serum (This product has more oil content than moisture, so using it together with a hydrating serum created a better oil and moisture balance for my skin.) - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinDec 10, 2019
I absolutely love this! The difference between using it and not using it is remarkable. It genuinely feels like it's strengthening my skin. This could be due to its ability to fortify the skin barrier, or perhaps it's simply the soothing emulsion formula that provides hydration without any puffiness. Either way, it's incredibly effective. The scent... That's the reason I didn't repurchase. While fragrance-free products are supposedly better for skin health, this goes beyond being unscented. The base smell of the ingredients is overwhelmingly strong. Sadly, I had to apply it while avoiding my nose. If you're sensitive to smells like me, it's probably best to steer clear of this one. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 14, 2019
This is absolutely amazing for strengthening the skin barrier...!!! It really helped with my deep dryness, and in summer, I don't even need a moisturizer after applying this on top of my toner. Especially when used together with Kale-lalu-yAHA, it's the perfect combination...!!!! For me, perhaps because I still produce a lot of sebum, I switched to a different product in midsummer. While it contains oils that work well with my skin and doesn't cause any issues, it just feels a bit heavy, so I skip it during the hottest months~! After prepping my skin with Kale-lalu-yAHA from the same brand, applying this helps my skin recover quickly!! It's a routine I make sure to do 1-2 times a week
