My skin barrier was completely wrecked, and everything I applied caused stinging, itching, and a burning sensation. It was awful! But then I tried this cream in the evening, and miraculously, there was no itching or stinging - my face felt so comfortable. The next morning when I cleansed my face, there was absolutely no irritation! Is it even possible to see such results in just one day? I have extremely oily skin, but when my skin barrier was compromised, my face felt terribly dry all day long. After applying this cream for just one night, the deep dryness significantly decreased by the next day. Even more surprising, when my skin was in its normal state, I used to get itchy and have allergic reactions if even a strand of hair touched my face. But with this cream? Nothing of the sort! Also, while I didn't have large blemishes on my chin, there were always a few small bumps. Now, my chin feels so smooth it's almost slippery - there's nothing to feel at all. Could this be thanks to this cream? If your skin barrier is compromised, you absolutely must give this a try! While this worked well for me as I'm usually very oily but became extremely dry when my skin barrier was damaged, those with naturally oily skin might find it a bit rich. When applying, don't squeeze out too much at once or rub it in vigorously. Instead, dot it evenly all over your face and gently pat it in. This method helps it absorb well and minimizes irritation! - lo******Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 4, 2025
The texture is a perfect blend between an emulsion and a cream. It spreads easily and has a nice, bouncy feel when applied. The optimal 3:1:1 ratio of ceramides is particularly soothing when your skin barrier is compromised. For those with dry skin, you might find the hydration insufficient over time, so finishing with a rich moisturizer is recommended. The scent has that typical dermatological ointment smell, which might not be everyone's cup of tea. - ao***Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 30, 2025
1. Texture and Feel Among the Dr. Diffart Secol-G line, this 113 cream is a bullseye for dry skin. It offers intense hydration with a clean finish. With its high ceramide content, it's also recommended for sensitive skin with a compromised barrier. 2. Formula & Writer's Skin Type It contains a well-balanced ratio of ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids. The ceramide content has been increased to suit specific skin types. As someone with combination dehydrated skin and a damaged barrier, I used it alone for 2 weeks, then with an ampoule. Currently, I'm mixing it with another cream at night. For rushed mornings, it might pill if not applied carefully as it takes time to absorb. After evening cleansing, apply once and layer again before bed for a moisturizing barrier that lasts until morning. 3. Recommended Skin Types Highly recommended for extreme barrier care, sensitive skin, and especially dry skin. 4. The ingredients are generally safe for sensitive skin, and I experienced no major issues during use. I even applied it after using Sulantra (a prescription medication) when my skin was irritated, and it provided powerful additional hydration! From my perspective, there aren't any concerning ingredients, so I don't have any real complaints. If I had to mention one thing, it might be how rich it is - but that's both a pro and a con. However, those who find palmitic acid heavy might want to be cautious. 5. Writer's Pro Tip This cream pairs exceptionally well with watery cica ampoules. Apply a watery ampoule for a burst of hydration, then lock it in with this moisturizing cream for ultimate skin hydration. - qu******Combination SkinAcne SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 26, 2025
It absorbs well, leaving the skin feeling moisturized and fresh. I love that it's not too greasy. As someone with dry skin, I found the hydration level slightly lacking. - gy*******Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 25, 2025
Great hydration! Absorbs well. I have sensitive skin, but this didn't cause any blemishes. It was fine in winter, but now that the weather's warming up, the texture feels a bit heavy. Might be good for those with dry skin though. - cb******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 4, 2025
It's wonderfully gentle, which I love. Highly recommended for those with super sensitive skin. The absorption isn't great, making it difficult and time-consuming to apply. - ju******Dry SkinSensitive SkinJan 22, 2025
I noticed many reviews praising its high-quality ingredients and impressive results It felt too thick and left my skin feeling dry. I couldn't really see any benefits, so I didn't repurchase. I guess these heavy creams just don't suit my skin - su*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedJan 18, 2025
As someone with sensitive, combination dehydrated skin that suddenly flared up all over, I started using this and the experience was great from the get-go. It wasn't particularly irritating to my skin, and it had a pleasant, easy-to-apply texture. The formula might feel slightly heavy at first, but it spreads smoothly and absorbs well when you apply it. So far, I haven't noticed any downsides. It hasn't caused any blemishes either. I've heard that barrier care is crucial when your skin is acting up, so I stopped using all my usual skincare products. Now I just apply this in the morning and D-panthenol in the evening. My skin calmed down quickly, so using it on its own worked best for me. - sl******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 12, 2025
This is my go-to holy grail product for strengthening the skin barrier. I mix it with Differin for best results. Be careful when combining with serums - if they don't mix well, it can pill terribly. Make sure to pat it in thoroughly for optimal absorption. - a.***********Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsJan 3, 2025
Overall, it's fairly average. The absence of any significant drawbacks could be considered its strength. When applied, it feels slightly more rich than hydrating. It might not be quite enough for those with dry skin during winter months. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found it suitable even in winter. A small but delightful touch is that the spatula can be attached to the product container. While I can't be certain this product is the cause, I noticed my skin darkening unusually quickly. This happened even with a foundation that typically doesn't cause darkening. Moreover, it doesn't absorb well, and the scent is reminiscent of sunscreen. Although the fragrance isn't overpoweringly strong, it's not a scent I personally enjoy, which was disappointing.
