As expected from Missha, the BB cream masters, their latest offering definitely lives up to the hype. It's less likely to darken your complexion compared to other BB creams and noticeably brightens your skin tone. While it doesn't glide on as smoothly as some, it adheres well to the skin. I find it works best when mixed with other products rather than used alone. Keep an eye out for those frequent 50%+ discounts - they seem to have plenty in stock! This BB cream is a disaster for texture - it emphasizes every bit of dead skin cells and uneven skin texture like nobody's business. Applying it was so frustrating, it actually stressed me out. Mixing it with other BB creams or foundations makes it somewhat usable, but that's not why I bought it in the first place. Looks like I'm going back to my trusty beginner-friendly options. Mixing is the key to success with this product. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinSep 7, 2021
It's great that I can stock up when there's a buy-one-get-one-free deal. When I first apply it to the back of my hand, it has a slightly reddish tint, but it actually brightens up my face. The initial application seems to absorb well. As time passes, it makes my skin feel too dry. It tends to settle into pores and emphasizes dead skin cells. It doesn't mix well with hydrating sunscreens, but combining it with a more emollient sunscreen helps reduce the dryness. You absolutely can't use a regular puff with this. You must use a damp puff or one soaked in a gel (like aloe) for application. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 25, 2020
Despite being a BB cream, the color is truly radiant. Usually, BB creams have a dull, grayish tone, but this one doesn't - it feels more like a foundation. It tends to settle into pores too much and emphasizes skin texture, which makes me hesitant to use it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 15, 2020
The coverage is decent and it worked well for me! It applies smoothly even when using your fingers. Plus, it's quite hydrating. It tends to emphasize dead skin cells and doesn't blend well. Considering the hype, it's rather underwhelming and just average. Make sure to put extra effort into your skincare routine! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 13, 2020
I was looking for a long-lasting product for brightening my complexion, and this is perfect! It's not heavy like foundation and applies thinly, making it great for those days when you can't be bothered with full coverage. Surprisingly, it makes my skin look even better than foundation! Depending on your skin condition, it can accentuate dead skin cells. Make sure to exfoliate well and apply a hydrating skincare routine beforehand. When done right, it gives a nice, subtle glow! I apply a thin layer all over my face, then blend it with a damp sponge. After that, I add another light layer on my cheeks and forehead. This technique makes my skin look healthier and gives me a radiant complexion! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 1, 2020
The coverage is decent, and I love that it doesn't have that ashy tone typical of BB creams! Some people say the scent is strong, but I didn't find it overpowering at all. Personally, I enjoyed the subtle fragrance! The staying power is just okay, but it's perfect for wearing to school! The only downside I can think of is that it might accentuate dead skin cells. But if you're thorough with your skincare routine before applying, it's not a problem! For areas with a lot of dead skin cells, try dampening your cushion or spraying some face mist before application. This almost completely eliminates any issues with flaky skin! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 15, 2020
Wow! This Shinsegae BB cream is a game-changer! My skin is combination dehydrated and super sensitive, prone to small blemishes. I've tried countless BB creams, foundations, and cushions, recently settling on the Luna Sensitive Cushion. However, I was still struggling with dryness and adherence (my shirts and coats were constantly stained!). That's when I decided to give this product a shot. The verdict? I'm absolutely thrilled with its hydration, adherence, and lasting power. I'll definitely be repurchasing! Hydration: Initially, I was worried about the thick texture and some reviews suggesting it might be extremely drying. However, I found it quite moisturizing, though the under-eye area did feel a bit dry as time passed. Adherence: While it does transfer if you rub hard, I'm generally satisfied with how well it stays put. 》 Update 05/22/20: It's a bit disappointing that it seems to transfer quite a bit onto masks... Lasting Power: After 6-7 hours, it becomes slightly more sheer and loses some of its initial radiance, but it still outlasts many of the cushions and BB creams I've used before (excluding foundations). Of course, there are a few downsides: Coverage: While it does a good job of evening out redness, it struggles to conceal blemishes or troubled areas. However, I'm still satisfied using it with a bit of concealer on problem spots. Emphasizing Dead Skin: The first time I used it without proper exfoliation, I noticed it emphasized flaky skin in my T-zone. (I didn't even realize I had such dry patches!) But the very next day, after exfoliating, it applied smoothly. It actually made me wonder if I hadn't been exfoliating properly before, leading to those small bumps on my skin. I originally used shade 21, but found it a bit light, so I repurchased in shade 22. In the photo, the bottom swatch is 21 and the top is 22. I plan to use shade 21 for highlighting areas like under the eyes and between the brows. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 14, 2020
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. I have combination, sensitive, and blemish-prone skin with many small bumps and pus-filled spots on my cheeks. I also have oily skin with blackheads (especially on my nose) and whiteheads. Neutral Color: The color is the best feature of this product. Usually, BB creams have a grayish tint that looks artificial, but this Missha Blanc BB cream has an almost perfect neutral shade. It matches my complexion perfectly, which I love. Application and Finish: Initially, I thought it was a light formula, but it's actually quite rich. After application, it gives a semi-matte effect! I appreciate that it doesn't make my hair stick to my face like overly moisturizing products do. Decent Adherence: Despite its rich texture, it adheres well to the skin. Due to its consistency, I applied it with a damp cushion puff. This worked especially well for my dry cheek area. Improved Skin Texture: After wearing it out for a while, I noticed a subtle glow where light hit my face, beautifully enhancing my skin texture. I liked how this effect appeared temporarily after application, more so than at the beginning. Strong Scent: There's a noticeable cosmetic fragrance. It was slightly off-putting when applying to my face. However, you do get used to it over time. Low Coverage: The coverage is on the lighter side. It didn't really conceal my blemishes and scars. A concealer is definitely necessary! Emphasizes Dead Skin Cells: This is the most disappointing aspect. Initially, my skin texture looked good, but as the product wore off, an excessive amount of dead skin cells appeared in my T-zone. Being inexperienced with touch-ups, I made it worse by trying to fix it, so I just left it and went home. Perhaps I needed a more thorough skincare routine beforehand? Causes Blemishes: My blemishes slightly worsened. My face became blotchy, so unfortunately, I stopped using it after just one application. If you have sensitive skin, I strongly recommend patch testing first. This is especially important for those with blemish-prone skin. For a light complexion enhancement, apply with a damp cushion puff. When I applied it directly to dry areas, it felt tight. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 14, 2020
It's moisturizing, as you'd expect from a BB cream. Surprisingly good coverage for a BB cream - I was impressed by how well it covered. It's perfect for those days when you don't feel like applying foundation. While I'm not sure about its longevity due to wearing a mask, it seemed to stay on decently. It definitely evens out the skin tone effectively. It does tend to accentuate dead skin cells a bit. While it was moisturizing, I was disappointed that it highlighted flaky skin. The staying power was a bit lacking, especially around the nose area where it wore off quickly. I found that applying it with a puff helps prevent emphasizing dead skin cells. I used an Olive Young puff to apply it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinFeb 14, 2020
The Hwahae Testers One of the biggest advantages is that it doesn't have the grayish tint typical of other BB creams, but instead gives a radiant complexion. I love how it brightens without looking heavy! The lightweight formula makes it perfect for quick application when you're in a rush or heading to work. The pump-style tube packaging is also great for hygienic use. I'd recommend this to those with relatively clear skin, anyone who prefers a natural makeup look, or those looking for a brightening moisturizer to use for quick errands or before working out. The downside is that despite its light texture, it can feel drying over time. After long hours in the office, possibly due to the heating, it tends to emphasize dead skin cells and can look a bit messy around the nose area. Given its sheer coverage, I found myself reaching for it less on days when my skin wasn't at its best. Keep this in mind! For those with dry skin, apply your skincare products thoroughly and pair this with a slightly richer sunscreen to reduce dryness. This can also help minimize the appearance of flaky skin!
