When you soak them generously and apply to tired skin, it feels as soothing as a sheet mask.
ConsSimilar to other reviews, the scent is quite strong. When I smelled it, it made my nose tickle.
TipIt's potent enough to use as a mask by soaking the cotton pads generously.

Occasional redness. ✔️Large pores: Slightly enlarged pores. Note: This review is based on oily skin type. This is a review of a product received through the Hwahae Testers program. Recommended for: - Those looking for a hydrating toner. - Those needing anti-aging benefits. Summary Review: -Ingredients: 4.5/5 -Absorption: 5/5 -Hydration: 5/5 -Soothing: 4/5 -Anti-aging: 3/5 -Value for money: 2.5/5 Absorption: It's a very thin, white liquid toner. It absorbs quickly, feeling fresh on the surface while keeping the skin deeply hydrated. After use, my skin felt firmer. Hydration: My skin definitely felt more hydrated. Even with just the toner, my oily skin didn't feel tight. It's great for those who want to boost hydration with their toner. Soothing: While it's not extremely calming, it didn't irritate my skin. It helped reduce the redness that appears after cleansing. I personally enjoyed this toner! If it weren't for the drawbacks, I'd repurchase it. The 5-layer cotton pads that came with it from Lagom were also very soft and nice. However, considering the value for money... I give it 4 stars overall.
ConsAllergens: Be cautious of the allergen ingredients limonene and linalool! After use, I occasionally experienced some itchy, red patches. It wasn't severe, but it's worth being careful about. Various Oils: If you have skin that's very sensitive to oils, you might want to be cautious. Anti-aging? There don't seem to be any special anti-aging ingredients added... And while my skin did feel firmer, it might be hard to expect any noticeable effects. Value for Money: I received this through the Hwahae Testers program, so I didn't know the price at first. But now that I've checked, the price is quite steep. Across various retail sites, it's priced in the mid to late 20,000 won range for 200ml. If you're considering value for money, I think the Laneige Cream Skin might be a better option.
TipI applied it generously on a 5-layer cotton pad and gently wiped it along my skin texture. Personally, I found I preferred the feel of an exfoliating toner over this water-based one.

The texture isn't your typical watery formula, but rather has a slightly viscous consistency. As the name suggests, it's incredibly hydrating! I think the viscosity contributes to that moisturizing effect.
ConsAs someone with super sensitive skin, I experienced a burning sensation and some itching, unfortunately.

My T-zone is oily while my cheeks are dry. Though my skin is oily, the deep dryness is no joke! I've heard that if you skimp on skincare for oily skin, it can actually become drier and produce more oil. The Hwahae Testers, let me tell you - the hydration power is incredible! I usually only use Dr.G products because my skin is super sensitive and reacts badly to changes, but Dr.G products always work well for me. I use Dr.G toner as an exfoliating toner, and I thought the Revive Essentoner would be similar, but it actually has a slightly viscous texture. This makes it perfect for patting on after cleansing. The absorption is great since it's a toner, and while the absorption might not be as quick as an exfoliating toner, it's still good. The hydration is excellent. For me, the most important thing is whether a product irritates my skin. After using it for a week, morning and night, I was a bit nervous but had no issues! At first, my skin felt a bit tingly as it was adjusting, but over time, I found it more hydrating and pleasant-smelling than my usual toner. Even my mother tried it once and sneakily took it to use herself! She says it's great for combating deep dryness when applied right after washing her face.
ConsThe downside is that there's an adjustment period where your skin might feel a bit tingly and develop some redness. Also, if you have acne or wounds, it might be a bit irritating. I got a few blemishes and nearly fainted when I applied it without thinking! The itchiness was an added bonus I could have done without. It came with toner pads that can be separated into 5 layers (which is great!). The instructions say to soak a pad with toner and leave it on your face like a mask, but I wouldn't recommend this. It didn't really add any hydration. On the bright side, the pads themselves are soft and gentle on the skin.

While it's not a lightweight formula, it has a viscous consistency with a hydrating feel. Despite this, it absorbs well into the skin and provides just the right amount of moisture, which I love. If you massage it in properly, there's no stickiness at all.
ConsIf you're sensitive to scents, you might find the fragrance a bit off-putting. I have blemish-prone skin, and the areas with blemishes feel slightly itchy when I use this. Also, the price is quite steep, unfortunately.

However, it felt so soft and moist that it really lifted my spirits. I absolutely love that there's no strange scent either!
ConsIt stings a little when I apply the toner to areas with blemishes...

I liked that the scent wasn't overpowering. At first, I thought it was a bit strong, but after applying, it has a fresh smell that's not overwhelming. 2. Despite its viscosity and rich texture, it doesn't remain sticky. As time passes, it leaves a refreshing finish, making it perfect for patting in to absorb. After absorption, there's a slight oily feel. 3. The slight oiliness means it doesn't dry out over time and maintains adequate hydration. I recommend it for oily, dry, and combination skin types! There's a slight cooling effect that might help with redness too. 4. This toner is incredibly moisturizing, providing better hydration compared to other toners. It's especially great for those with extremely dry skin. 5. The included cotton pads are 5-ply, making them perfect for toner masking. You can easily separate each layer. The pads aren't small, so you can cover your whole face with just a few swipes!
Cons1. Initially, there's some stickiness that persists until absorption, which might be uncomfortable for those who dislike sticky textures. 2. It takes time or continuous patting for the stickiness to disappear, making it difficult to apply the next skincare product immediately. This might be inconvenient when you're short on time. 3. A couple of ingredients may cause allergies, so those with acne-prone skin might experience itching. 4. The rich yet slightly runny texture means you might end up using too much product when applying with a cotton pad or doing a cotton pad mask.
Tip1. This product is more effective when patted in with hands rather than used as an exfoliating toner. 2. Due to the slight oiliness, I recommend using it in the evening when you're less active, rather than in the morning. 3. As mentioned earlier, the oiliness and slight stickiness make it more suitable for dry autumn and winter months than summer! 4. While it's great for oily skin types, it would be especially beneficial for those with dry skin. 5. I have oily skin, and I apply it by patting it in after dispensing some toner onto my hands. Then I rub my palms together to generate heat and help it absorb better! For those with dry skin, you might want to apply an extra layer on particularly dry areas!

It came with 40 cotton pads, which was a nice bonus. 1. Ingredients: I checked the ingredients first and found they were mostly great, except for two. It contains adenosine, which helps improve wrinkles and creates firmer skin. --> Contains adenosine for wrinkle improvement! 2. Hydration: The Lagom Cellus Revive Essence Toner is super moisturizing! My combination dehydrated skin with deep dryness loves it. It's incredibly hydrating and wonderful. --> Hydration is top-notch! Highly recommended for very dry skin! 3. Texture and application: It has a rich, bouncy texture with some viscosity, but it applies well. When you smooth it on your skin, you can immediately feel the hydration with a slight oily sensation and watery feel. --> Rich, bouncy texture with good absorption! 4. Finish: Right after application, it feels silky due to its viscosity, like applying a rich essence. After a while, it feels fresh and non-sticky. It has a cooling effect that calmed my facial redness and lowered my overall skin temperature. --> Cooling effect, calms redness, silky yet fresh finish 5. Scent: Personally, I liked it. It's strong at first but becomes subtle after absorption. --> Strong scent -> subtle fragrance
Cons1. Ingredients: It contains two moderately risky allergens, 'limonene' and 'linalool'. This might be why it felt a bit itchy on my blemishes. --> Contains potential allergens, may cause itching 2. Skin type: Not recommended for sensitive or oily skin. It contains two potential allergens and four oils that can irritate skin: lavender oil, wild geranium oil, myrrh oil, and acidic orange oil. As I have sensitive skin, it felt a bit itchy as mentioned earlier. While it's very hydrating, it's not oil-free. I wouldn't recommend it for extremely oily or sensitive skin. --> Contains irritating oils and potential allergens, has some oiliness --> Not recommended for sensitive or oily skin 3. Application: I wouldn't recommend it as an exfoliating toner. Due to its viscosity, when applied with a cotton pad, it doesn't smooth out skin texture. Instead, it feels sticky and seems to just coat the skin surface, almost like an oil coating. --> Not recommended as exfoliating toner, doesn't refine skin texture, feels sticky and coats skin surface 4. Finish: It feels sticky right after application. While it feels moisturizing, the viscosity makes it seem like it's not absorbing well and just sitting on top of the skin. --> Sticky, feels like it's not absorbing 5. Scent: The fragrance is polarizing. When I asked my family, half liked it and half thought it was too strong and unpleasant. --> Mixed opinions on scent, some find it too strong
TipIt's better to apply this at night after cleansing rather than in the morning. You'll wake up with moisturized skin! However, if you're experiencing a lot of blemishes or excess oil, regardless of your skin type, follow the oily skin method or consider skipping it. *Combination Skin* 1. Dispense the toner into your palm three times 2. Apply to cheeks, forehead, nose bridge, chin, philtrum, and around eyes, then pat in 3. Warm your hands and press them against your face to aid absorption *Dry Skin* 1. Dispense the toner into your palm three times and spread it between your hands 2. Pat it all over your face 3. Apply a bit more to extra dry areas using two fingers 4. Warm your hands and press them against your face to aid absorption *Oily Skin* 1. Dispense the toner into your palm twice and spread it between your hands 2. Pat it all over your face 3. Warm your hands and press them against your face to aid absorption *Dehydrated Oily Skin* 1. Dispense the toner into your palm twice 2. Apply to less oily areas and pat in 3. Dispense more toner and spread between your hands 4. Pat all over your face 5. Warm your hands and press them against your face to aid absorption *For Very Dry or Irritated Skin* 1. Soak thin cotton pads with toner and place on cheeks, forehead, nose, and dry or irritated areas 2. Wait 10-15 minutes 3. Gently wipe with the toner-soaked pads 4. Dispense more toner and spread between your hands 5. Pat all over your face 6. Warm your hands and press them against your face to aid absorption
