I was a bit nervous because I heard the fragrance was polarizing, but it wasn't that intense. In fact, I found it pleasant and not too strong for a cosmetic product. 🍊 Application/Hydration The consistency is like a thin toner, not as runny as nasal mucus. It's just fluid enough that it doesn't dry out immediately after application, which I love! Even on oilier areas, it absorbs well without feeling too heavy. 🍊 Design I simply like the minimalist bottle design... hehe!
Cons🍊 Blemishes As I have super sensitive skin, I noticed a couple of tiny bumps... but honestly, it's not a big concern! Still, those with extremely sensitive skin should be cautious! Other than that, I can't think of any downsides...? I believe this toner does everything a toner should do.
Tip🍊 Toner mask!!!!!!!!!! I used to absolutely despise toner masks and was a die-hard fan of exfoliating toners, but the 5-layer cotton pads that come with this package are amazing! When you soak them generously and use all five layers for a toner mask, you get soothing and hydration effects - all clear! Essentially, you can leave it on, gently wipe it off, and reapply, or if you're extra dry, add an emulsion on top. For evening skincare, this routine is pretty much all you need. It feels like I've finally found a toner that lives up to its name!

It wasn't too artificial and was just the kind of fragrance I enjoy. I applied it twice - once initially and then again after it had absorbed a bit. My skin felt more supple and firm after that. At first, I thought the amount might be too little, but it turned out to be just right. What's impressive is that I only used this toner and an emulsion in my routine, skipping essence, yet my skin didn't feel dry at all. I'm quite satisfied with how it maintained my skin's hydration even with a simplified routine.
ConsHmm... I wasn't too fond of using it with a cotton pad. Also, while I have combination skin, I think this would be even better for those with dry skin types! One thing I found a bit disappointing was the ingredient list. I really prioritize ingredients, and while I didn't have any issues using it, I can't help but think how much better it could have been with an improved formulation.
TipWhen using this product, pat it gently onto your skin and press lightly with your palms. Once it's somewhat absorbed, take a little more and pat it in again. Applying the toner twice like this might give you even better results!

Scent While the scent might be divisive, I personally enjoyed the herbal aroma, which made application a pleasant experience. 2. Texture and Application True to its 'essence toner' name, it's not overly watery but has a slightly viscous, mucus-like consistency. I appreciated that it wasn't too light and could be applied smoothly. 3. Ingredients It contains adenosine, which is said to be effective for wrinkle improvement. Although I've only used it for about a week and haven't noticed anything extraordinary, I have sensitive combination skin, and this product seems to suit me well as it didn't cause any blemishes. 4. Hydration I have combination dehydrated skin with severe deep dryness. My face usually feels tight right after cleansing, but this product has helped significantly. After using an exfoliating toner to cleanse, I immediately pat this product onto my face. As it absorbs, I can feel an instant boost of hydration, which is fantastic. 5. Packaging Personally, I absolutely love the simple, no-frills packaging.
Cons1. This might be too heavy for those with very oily skin. Moreover, instead of a fresh finish, it leaves a slightly slippery feeling, which might not appeal to those who prefer lightweight application. 2. While I would consider repurchasing, there are many affordable toners available these days. The price point might be a drawback for continuous use.
TipMy preferred method is to first prep the skin with an exfoliating toner. Then, I apply the essence toner gently using the provided cotton pad. After letting the thin layer absorb, I add another layer of the essence toner directly onto my face. Finally, I use the exfoliating toner to remove any excess product. This technique reduces stickiness and slipperiness while providing excellent deep hydration.

The fragrance isn't overpowering, so it should be suitable for everyone. Texture: It's somewhere between a water and an essence? Not too light or heavy, with a consistency often described as 'runny'. It does drip a bit when applied to the back of your hand, so it's not super thick! Application: While it's a toner, it has a slight richness to it, so rather than being extremely light and fresh, it feels nourishing! It spreads evenly on the skin whether you pat or swipe it on. There's a slight stickiness at first, but after about a minute, it absorbs completely, leaving just the right amount of hydration without any residue. This would be especially satisfying for those with dry skin. Overall, if you're looking for a light toner that just does basic skin smoothing, this might not be the best fit. However, if you want a toner that smooths your complexion while providing some moisture and nourishment without leaving your skin feeling dry, this could be a great choice! As someone with oily skin, I think this product would be particularly good for use in dry autumn and winter months.
ConsApplication: If you have oily skin, you might want to use lighter products (essence, serum, cream) after this Lagom toner. Otherwise, you might find the overall feel a bit heavy or sticky.
TipThe cotton pads that came with the toner were incredibly thick and high-quality! They're perfect for different uses - one layer for a toner mask, or 2-3 layers for a more thorough cleanse. The combination of the toner and these pads worked even better than I expected!

Especially nice in the current season as it doesn't leave a sticky feeling - Ingredients: Non-irritating on blemishes, no artificial scent. Considering these factors, it seems to have gentle ingredients for the skin - Hydration/Moisturization: Being an essence toner, it's closer to an essence than a typical toner. You can enjoy both nourishment and satisfying hydration - Blemishes: While I don't currently have any blemishes to test its effectiveness on small bumps or large pimples, the fact that it doesn't cause breakouts suggests it provides enough hydration to improve skin condition. This leads me to believe it could be effective for blemishes as well - Overall assessment: Its ability to provide both hydration and nourishment makes it stand out as an essence toner compared to regular toners
ConsIt gets used up quickly when used for mask packs (This isn't really a flaw of the toner itself, just something I find a bit disappointing...)
TipFor a two-in-one effect, first use it as an exfoliating toner by wiping with a cotton pad to refine skin texture, then pat it in as an essence. This completes the serum step without needing a separate essence. Finish with a light moisturizer and your basic skincare routine is done!

Personally, I found it quite pleasant! (It's not overwhelmingly masculine, just slightly reminiscent of men's cosmetics rather than women's.) Highly recommended for those with dry skin! It provides such intense hydration that you can feel it addressing even deep dryness. When applied before bed for skin soothing, you wake up with plump, clear skin. Your makeup application the next day will be so flawless, people will notice!
ConsThe stickiness is quite uncomfortable... While some tackiness is expected due to the hyaluronic acid content, it's so sticky that you'll need to wash your hands again after application, which is a bit of a hassle. Definitely not recommended for those with oily or acne-prone skin.
TipIt works well when applied with a cotton pad before bed, focusing on specific areas! I targeted my extremely dry areas, and it really helped replenish moisture.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsThe Hwahae Testers review: My skin type: I have combination-dry skin, and it's not particularly sensitive. Unless I use a product that really doesn't suit me, I rarely get blemishes from cosmetics. Packaging/Scent: As someone who prefers simplicity, I was satisfied with the packaging! Those who like pretty or colorful packaging might find it a bit plain. I also liked that it's not made of glass. Even if you accidentally drop it, it won't break! The floral scent is subtle and pleasant, not overpowering (those who prefer unscented products might not like it). Application/Texture: It's not a watery toner. It has a slight viscosity. It's like a perfect blend of essence and toner! But that doesn't mean it's not fluid at all! It's viscous but still flows. When applied, there's no stickiness or tightness at all. It's moisturizing and has a cooling effect! It's a great product for hydration. I tried applying it both with hands and cotton pads, and it spread well with both methods. However, since it's a viscous toner, I recommend applying it with your hands. I've been using this product morning and night lately, and I'm loving it!
ConsIngredients: It contains two ingredients that may cause allergic reactions. This aspect concerns me a bit. As it's a basic skincare product, I wish these ingredients weren't included. Apart from these two, the ingredients are generally good. Absorption: Perhaps because it's not a watery formula but has some viscosity, it doesn't absorb quickly. You need to pat it in well. Price: It's not exactly cheap, so I'll have to think twice about repurchasing it for continuous use. It's not that the product is bad - it's actually good, but these days there are many affordable yet effective products out there.
TipThe Lagom cotton pads that came with it are amazing.. so thick and plush! They're 5-ply, so you can separate them for use as a toner mask - that's good! I wouldn't recommend the 3-skin or 7-skin method with these (they might disappear too quickly).

I liked that it wasn't too light or too heavy for a toner. Scent: When I first smelled it, it reminded me of lemonade! While some people didn't like it, I personally found the refreshing scent pleasant. Absorption: I didn't feel like it absorbed particularly well. When applied with hands, it seemed to sit on the surface before sinking in. When using a cotton pad, I had to pat it several times before the product would transfer onto the pad.
ConsIngredients: I didn't get the impression that the ingredients were particularly gentle. Those with sensitive skin should be especially careful! Blemishes: Even during the short period of use, I developed 4-5 new blemishes. There was also a burning sensation when first applied. My skin, which had been calm recently, completely flared up with this product. Price: For a toner, the price seems quite steep. Overall: I won't be repurchasing this product!

First off, when I received it, I was immediately impressed by the simple yet beautiful packaging design. It really put me in a good mood! I'm a sucker for clean and minimalist designs... Scent: I noticed many reviewers mentioned they didn't like the fragrance, but personally, I found it pleasant when I first used it. There is a distinct toner scent, but it's not overpowering or harsh like some other products. It's just a subtle fragrance that I actually enjoyed. Blemishes: My skin is quite sensitive and tends to react quickly to products that don't suit me. However, I didn't experience any adverse reactions with this product. It felt gentle on my skin. In fact, it gave me a nourishing sensation without being heavy or sticky. The absorption was great too. As someone with very dry skin, I found it just right. It provided both nourishment and hydration while feeling light and refreshing, without excess oil.
ConsTo be honest, I haven't found any downsides so far... It's not really a negative point, but they included cotton pads which are really nice! They're incredibly soft and quite thick. However, because they're so thick, I found that when using them with an exfoliating toner, I ended up using too much product.
TipFor those like me with a compromised skin barrier and dry skin, I found it works well using the '2-skin method'! Rather than using it as an exfoliating toner, it's better to pour a suitable amount into your hands and gently pat it into your skin for maximum absorption.

The toner has a rice water-like color. The texture isn't completely watery, but has a slight viscosity. It's not as thick as mucus, but just a tad less viscous than that. There's a fragrance added, which to me smelled slightly fruity and wasn't off-putting at all. Since it's not entirely water-like in texture, it might not be suitable as an exfoliating toner, but using it as a mask by soaking a cotton pad could work well. I have very dry skin, so during winters like now, it's impossible for me to do my night care with just one product. This product felt great as the first step after cleansing, absorbing nicely into the skin. It's suitable for use both day and night. The quantity is quite generous, so it should last for a long time.
ConsChecking the ingredients, I noticed two potential allergens, so those with sensitive skin should use it cautiously. For dry skin types like mine, it's just another step in the routine... I didn't notice anything particularly special about this product in the short term use.
TipI liked that the scent was quite pleasant, making it enjoyable to apply in the morning!
