The product description mentions it's stabilized for reduced irritation, which seems accurate. - I prefer products with minimal ingredients these days, and The Ordinary is excellent in that regard. It's perfect when layering multiple products, as each has fewer ingredients. Plus, the price is incredibly affordable. This might be the cheapest retinol product out there? I also love the simple, stylish packaging. Lately, I just apply this serum and finish with a simple moisturizer. - I manage exfoliation with retinol products instead of using separate exfoliants, and it works much better than AHA/BHA. After using this product, my complexion looks brighter and smoother the next day. - Perhaps due to the squalane, it provides a bit of hydration when applied. The texture isn't too heavy, so layering with other products isn't a burden.
Cons- Seems more irritating than Dr. Different's Retinal? Probably shouldn't use it daily, as it could cause redness on the cheeks with daily use. Also, while Dr. Different seemed to help with pores, this serum makes them feel larger? Might not use it often. - Why did they add oil? I wish they hadn't... As someone who dislikes oils, the slippery feeling is unpleasant. I've had bad reactions to oils before, causing breakouts. At least it's jojoba oil, which is somewhat tolerable. - I'm not usually sensitive to scents, but this really smells like fish... I wouldn't use it when sleeping next to someone else. Still, it's better than added fragrances.
TipI bought this as an alternative since The Ordinary's Retinol was constantly sold out, and it's not bad. It might be better for dry skin than oily skin, and it seems good for retinol beginners (especially considering the price).

Usually, when you read reviews for retinol products, people mention skin peeling or only using it once or twice a week. But this product seems to be stabilized, as I experienced zero irritation. I've been using it every evening without any stinging or discomfort. - Affordable price. - After about a month of use, my skin texture has visibly improved and feels more plump, even noticeable to others. Once I finish this product, I plan to purchase and try the 5% version.
Cons- Nothing particularly bad, but it has a slippery texture similar to face oil. Oh! It can sting a bit if it gets into your eyes.

ConsIt feels oily and slippery when applied My super sensitive skin broke out with blemishes at first It's okay now, but I recommend those with sensitive skin to patch test rather than applying it all over the face
TipApply only in the evening
