My scalp is oily. Scent: From the first whiff, I personally loved the slightly floral fragrance. Texture: It's more fluid than my usual products, about the consistency of a slightly heavier serum. Lather: It lathers surprisingly well and feels rich and creamy. Two pumps were enough for me. Hair loss: Using this daily, I noticed less hair falling out while washing and drying. (Though it doesn't help with breakage.)
Cons1. It makes my hair too stiff. Of all the shampoos I've tried, this one left my hair feeling the stiffest when rinsing, drying, and throughout the day. Without using conditioner or treatment, it made my hair look even more frizzy. 2. Fragrance longevity: Personally, I value both the scent and its lasting power when washing my hair. While I liked the fragrance of this product, it didn't last long. By the time my hair was dry, the scent was almost gone.
TipMake sure to use conditioner or treatment with this shampoo.

Plus, the woody scent is absolutely delightful!
ConsWhen squeezing out the shampoo and applying it to my hair, it does feel a bit dry and rough.

I also loved the scent - it has notes of rosemary and mint, which are my favorites. However, the fragrance isn't overpowering and becomes almost unnoticeable after a while.
ConsThe downside was that while my scalp felt refreshed, my damaged hair strands became a bit dry and frizzy, which was disappointing.
TipThis shampoo works hard for those with oily scalps!

I also have very oily skin and fine hair, so my scalp gets greasy within hours. Because of this, I absolutely must shampoo at least once a day, no matter what. That's why I'm incredibly picky about shampoos. I always look for products with good ingredients, effective cleansing for oily scalps, and a refreshing feel that minimizes itching. I've had my eye on this hohobanim shampoo that's always top-ranked in Hwahae's shampoo category, but couldn't justify the cost. So when I got the chance to try Dr. Alga's shampoo as a tester, I was beyond excited! After using it consistently, here are my thoughts: The texture is very thin, which was surprising at first. I had to adjust my technique to avoid spills. Now I pump once directly onto my scalp, then rub two pumps between my hands for a scalp massage. Despite being all-natural, it lathers amazingly well! The cleansing effectiveness is impressive. It removes all the excess oil from my scalp, leaving it feeling so clean that I don't even need a second wash. It's incredibly refreshing. With continued use, I haven't experienced any scalp blemishes. My hair has more volume, and my scalp stays oil-free for longer than usual. While it's not quite as effective as my heavy-duty shampoo for long days out, it's far superior to my previous daily shampoo.
ConsHowever, there's one downside. As someone with fine hair that gets oily quickly, I never use conditioner. But after using this shampoo, I seriously considered it because my hair ends became so frizzy and unmanageable. To test it properly, I skipped my usual post-shampoo routine of recovery balm and hair essence. The result? My hair ends were stiff and frizzy, reminiscent of dried corn silk left out in the sun! Even though my roots were less oily, the ends had too much volume in an uncontrolled way. I suppose this indicates my hair ends lack nourishment. It seems this shampoo absolutely requires the use of a conditioner.
TipSince conditioners can sometimes cause blemishes for me, I had to get creative. After much deliberation, I found a solution: After towel-drying my hair post-shampoo, I apply a mixture of recovery balm and water evenly but lightly throughout my hair. After blow-drying, I apply a tiny amount of hair oil to the ends. This leaves my hair smooth and manageable, without tangles. It also allows for easy styling with hot tools (I use a flat iron for my medium-length hair) without any issues.

I've been using it since August, and even in hot weather, my hair doesn't smell and doesn't get oily quickly, which I love. That was actually one of the reasons I bought it! While the formulations differ, the a24 shampoo has become my go-to hair care product - I'm already on my second purchase!
ConsBecause it's effective at controlling oil, it can leave the hair feeling a bit stiff. As a result, there's a noticeable difference in the dryness and frizziness of my hair ends on days when I use a treatment versus when I don't. Considering this, I'd be cautious about recommending it to those with dry scalps.
TipI apply the treatment to the lower part of my hair first, then follow up with the shampoo. I rinse both out simultaneously. This method is said to minimize damage to the lower sections of your hair!

The cool, refreshing fragrance felt especially nice during the summer. The cleansing effectiveness was decent, and I particularly enjoyed how well it lathered. Comparing it to the A24 Jojoba Shampoo I usually use, this Rosemary Shampoo leaves my hair feeling ever so slightly stiffer. While the Jojoba leaves my hair soft and calm after washing, the Rosemary makes it a tad fluffy. Still, it's softer than many other shampoos. Apart from the different scent, there doesn't seem to be much difference between this and the Jojoba shampoo.
ConsAlthough the scent is invigorating, it doesn't seem to provide an actual cooling effect on the scalp. I didn't feel any cooling sensation while shampooing. It also leaves my hair slightly fluffy. However, as someone who doesn't use conditioner, I might have noticed the fluffiness more. If you use conditioner or hair treatment, it probably won't be very noticeable.
TipI think it would work even better if used together with a hair treatment and conditioner.

Perhaps due to the rosemary and mint combination, it gives a really clean, refreshing sensation. It makes your scalp feel genuinely healthier, so the overall experience is incredibly invigorating and pleasant. That said, it doesn't make your head feel hot or cold. This would be great for summer use or for those with oily scalps.
ConsGiven that this product contains rosemary and mint, it really doesn't suit dry or brittle hair, or a dry scalp. Unfortunately, due to frequent coloring, my hair tends to be on the dry side. After washing with this, my hair became even more brittle and the texture worsened. As a result, I'm now only using this product on my scalp and applying a different product to the ends of my hair.

It has a slight mint scent, but otherwise it's quite similar. I'd say it feels a bit more refreshing. No itchiness, and it has great cleansing effectiveness. Definitely recommend it!
ConsAs with most natural shampoos, my hair felt a bit dry and straw-like after washing... but that's about the only downside.

I color or perm my hair every 3-4 months, so my hair texture is average. My hair doesn't get greasy easily! The most recent shampoos I've used include Syoss silicone-free, Klorane Peony, and Rausch shampoo. They always left my hair feeling stiff, so every time I washed my hair at the salon, it felt like magic as my hair texture improved. After the first use, I definitely felt that my scalp was the cleanest it's been in a while. I'm not sure if it's a major effect or benefit, but there seems to be a slight cooling effect, and the rosemary mint scent contributes to that refreshing feeling. Compared to other gentle shampoos I've used, it lathers just enough to make it easy to massage into the scalp. It regulates oil production well, making my scalp feel comfortable without any dryness or major discomfort. Some reviews say it doesn't control oil well, but I found it keeps my scalp clean and comfortable. My family of three, including myself, were satisfied with how refreshing it made our scalps feel and how it regulated oil production! While fragrance isn't a major factor for me, I will say that the scent doesn't linger long on my hair.
ConsAfter continued use, I found that this shampoo also leaves my hair stiff and dry. When used with conditioner, it's less noticeable, but on days when I skipped conditioner as a test, I definitely felt the stiffness. That's the disappointing part.

It's not bad, but it doesn't seem to be as strong of a cleansing as I'd like. However, when I use TS, there's no sign of flaking, which I really appreciate.
ConsIt doesn't seem to keep my scalp feeling refreshed all day long... My hair also feels a bit dull and lifeless.
