It really helped control the dryness for my dehydrated skin.
ConsAs it's an aloe gel, layering it too much can cause pilling, similar to dead skin cells coming off.
TipApplying it thinly two or three times helps combat deep dryness.

My troubled skin, which didn't respond to toners and emulsions, has significantly improved with this aloe product. In the morning, I just dab on a bit of aloe instead of my usual skincare routine, and it keeps my skin beautifully hydrated under makeup.
ConsBe cautious about applying too much before makeup, as it might cause pilling. A little goes a long way!
TipIf aloe agrees with your skin, I highly recommend giving this product a try.

It's especially nice to apply in the evening after a day of sun exposure.
ConsIt doesn't seem ideal for use before makeup application, as it can cause slight pilling of your foundation.

It worked well for my super sensitive skin.
ConsIt pills when applying makeup. It doesn't absorb well and just sits on the skin, leaving a sticky feeling.
TipI used only this product for about two years. My skin was so sensitive that I couldn't apply anything else, just this one. It pills a lot when applying makeup, and in summer, when you sweat, it becomes sticky. It seemed to clog my pores, causing blemishes to appear.

Soothing effect: When I feel a pimple coming on with some heat, I apply this product. By the next morning, the area is noticeably calmed (it soothes without irritation). Absorption: Excellent, but you need to control the amount. (Applying about the size of two 10-won coins absorbs quickly, leaving skin feeling firm. Using about a 100-won coin size takes 3-6 minutes to absorb.) Texture: A gel that doesn't run, with a slightly thick consistency. Application: Applies beautifully. Stickiness: Leaves a slight stickiness after absorption. However, if you control the amount well, it just feels pleasantly supple. Moisturizing power: Decent for the skin's surface, but doesn't seem to provide deep hydration. Cooling effect: Just right. I don't typically have much facial heat, so products that are too cooling can make my face feel warmer afterward. This one has a slight cooling effect about 5-8 seconds after application and seems to maintain that feeling. When I occasionally experience heat sensitivity, applying a thicker layer and wiping it off after about an hour helps reduce the warmth. Volume: Love it. It's a large size. Plus, the tube packaging makes it convenient to use.
ConsHydration: Not particularly noticeable. Brightening effect: Minimal Price: On the higher side compared to other soothing gels. However, the ingredients seem to be much better quality. Not recommended for morning use: When applied in the morning before makeup, it tends to cause pilling.
TipFor best results, apply a thick layer like a mask in the evening, then massage your face as if doing lymphatic drainage. This helps with absorption and improves skin condition by the next morning.

This has led to frequent mask-related skin issues and a breakdown of the skin barrier. As a result, I've come to prioritize soothing gels or skincare products with calming properties in my basic skincare routine. I had been using Aritaum's soothing gel, but after winning The Hwahae Testers event, I switched to this product and I'm extremely satisfied with it! *Product Features 1. All ingredients are safe, with no high-risk components - The gentle ingredients make it suitable even for children (7-year-old girl). It's great to mix with an emulsion and apply when air pollution is severe or when the skin is irritated from mask-wearing! 2. No strong, typical cosmetic scent - Almost fragrance-free, with only a slight natural aloe scent remaining. The mild scent makes it suitable for those sensitive to fragrances. 3. Suitable for sensitive skin - After first use, I had one or two small blemishes the next morning, but this is normal for me as my skin adapts to new products. From the third day, even the initial blemishes disappeared, and I've been using it without any issues since. (There are reviews mentioning allergic reactions, which I suspect might be due to aloe allergies. I recommend patch testing on your body before use, just in case.) 4. Excellent calming effect (+ cooling) - In my opinion, the main function of any soothing gel is its calming effect. If I were to rate the Aritaum product I used before as ★★★ for its soothing effect, I'd give this product ★★★★★. Some reviews mention a lack of cooling effect, but this seems to apply when the product is spread thinly. I apply a thick layer (about 1mm) as a sleeping pack after completing my nighttime skincare routine, and the cooling effect is significant. - To maximize the soothing effect, I recommend applying it generously as the last step of your skincare routine and sleeping with a towel on your pillow! When I do this, my makeup applies beautifully the next day!
Cons- In the morning, I apply a thin layer of the soothing gel twice, but sometimes it pills when applying makeup. This might be due to layering multiple products for my sensitive skin, but it happens more often with Dr. Alga's soothing gel. If you're in the same situation, I recommend applying just one thin layer in the morning without layering. (This isn't an issue if you're not applying makeup.) - While it's suitable for winter, I wouldn't recommend it for summer due to its heavy texture. If using in summer, I suggest mixing it with an emulsion and applying thinly, and only on the body, not the face. When applying to the body, always use a thin layer due to its slight stickiness! - It's quite expensive... I recommend buying it during sales. - I'm not sure about its moisturizing effect. I personally use soothing gels solely for their calming effect rather than hydration, so it doesn't bother me. However, if you're looking for both soothing and moisturizing effects from a soothing gel, this might not be the best choice.
Tip- For maximum soothing and cooling effects, apply a generous layer (about 1mm thick) as a sleeping pack after completing your nighttime skincare routine! - When applying to the body, mix it with an emulsion to reduce stickiness! - If you're allergic to aloe, make sure to do a patch test before applying it to your face. Due to its high aloe content (82.3%), there's a higher chance of allergic reactions compared to other soothing gels, so please check carefully!

The ingredients are trustworthy, and it's truly excellent for soothing the skin. Once, I accidentally used an expired skincare product and my face turned red and inflamed. I quickly washed it off, applied this aloe gel, and went to sleep. By morning, my skin was completely calmed down! The product comes in a generous amount too, which is great.
ConsThere aren't many downsides. If you apply it thickly, it can pill a bit. However, if you use it as an overnight hydrating mask and wash it off in the morning, your skin feels wonderfully moisturized.
TipFor an extra soothing effect, try storing it in the refrigerator and applying it cool.

It has a powerful skin-soothing effect, so when my skin feels hot, applying this makes it feel cool without drying it out. It's great for skin care. When I have acne or blemishes, I apply it before bed and they calm down completely. It's really good!
ConsWhen my skin isn't in good condition, it can pill like dead skin cells when applied. Also, if you apply this gel directly to your face without any other products, it can feel a bit tight and drying. I have severe deep dryness, so I tend to apply an essence or toner before using this.
TipThere's nothing better than this when your skin is extremely sunburned. It's a summer and vacation essential. If you have combination dehydrated skin, make sure to apply it after your essence.

When I didn't pat it in and just left it, I didn't notice much effect. But when I patted it in thoroughly to help it absorb, my skin felt moisturized and lovely!
ConsIt feels fine at first, but as the product settles, it becomes increasingly sticky, which is uncomfortable. If you apply it incorrectly, it pills like dead skin cells, which is frustrating.
TipFinishing with just this product feels ambiguous as it's both drying and sticky. It works better when you follow up with a softer cream to seal it in. To prevent pilling, you need to pat it in with your fingertips for a long time until it's fully absorbed!

It absorbs quickly and is great for slathering on during summer. The ingredients are high-quality and gentle on the skin.
ConsI don't notice a significant difference compared to other soothing gel products, but it's quite expensive. If you apply too much before makeup, it can cause pilling.
