My skin barrier is completely compromised, leading to severe acne and folliculitis. I started using this product around last December when my skin wasn't combination dehydrated, so it didn't have much effect. However, due to my improper skincare routine, my cheeks went haywire! After that, I used it occasionally to soothe my skin after popping pimples, applying it generously and letting it dry. This summer, as my skin became extremely dehydrated and dry, I decided to use it again. Let's break it down: ✔️Absorption I applied it very thinly, but it still felt quite sticky. Most of the time, I used oil blotting papers after application. ✔️Hydration It seems to provide good hydration! However, while I can't say it's completely oil-free, the moisture level feels somewhat lacking...
ConsIt's a bit tricky to use on its own, and I didn't realize it at first, but after using it for a while, I discovered I have an aloe allergy... Please make sure to check thoroughly before purchasing!
TipI recommend keeping it cool in the refrigerator before use!

My skin also tends to develop blemishes due to hormonal changes during my menstrual cycle. First off, I ordered this through Hwahae because I've always been a fan of aloe products, having dealt with atopic dermatitis in the past. I usually go for products with 99% aloe content, but Dr. Alga's Aloe Soothing Gel stood out with its uniquely mucus-like texture that left my skin feeling moisturized for longer. The scent is more floral than typical aloe, but it's subtle and not bothersome.
ConsI used this aloe soothing gel thinking it wouldn't cause any blemishes, but it seems my skin didn't agree with some ingredients as I developed small blemishes. Also, while I managed to buy it at a discounted price through a Hwahae event, the regular price is quite high, so I probably won't repurchase.
TipI've used aloe soothing gels from various brands like Holika Holika, Aromatica, Tony Moly, and The Face Shop, and never experienced any blemishes... Make sure to do a patch test on your skin!

ConsReview after use: While the texture, application, and moisturizing power are perfect for my taste, it doesn't agree with my skin. It doesn't cause acne, but I get a few small bumps here and there on my skin

I think it's because of the additional ingredients, but it feels more elastic and moisturizing!
ConsI'm not sure if it's because of this product, but I did experience some blemishes. I'll keep using it for a while longer to see...

When it's hot, I just slather it on my face and lie down - it's so soothing~
ConsIf you apply too much, it can feel a bit rich? I noticed small blemishes popping up here and there.
TipIt's better to apply it only on irritated areas rather than all over your face

ConsBut what's the point? After applying, my face feels hot, turns beet red, and there's zero cooling effect. It's causing blemishes, and it's ridiculously overpriced. I'm so frustrated - what a waste of money!
TipI can't speak for everyone, but if you have sensitive or combination skin, steer clear of this. I wish I could show you pictures, but it's too embarrassing.

My lifestyle, diet, stress levels, and skincare routine remained the same as before using this product. All photos were taken 5 hours after cleansing and applying toner, soothing gel, and cream (without going outside). The product's absorption is good...? It feels more hydrating compared to other soothing gels...?
ConsExtreme oiliness explosion Sigh... I thought my oily skin was getting better after care, but after using this product, it's back to square one... - Acne got worse - Increased redness - Itchiness - Burning sensation on my face - Strange smell It has that musty odor like laundry left damp without sunlight... I wanted to write this review after 2 weeks of use, but my skin deteriorated so severely that I had to stop after just 3 days...

ConsAfter using this, my forehead started itching and developed small bumps. After using it a couple more times, I got a hard, large blemish on my chin. My skin tends to be a bit oily on the forehead and around the nose, so I occasionally get blemishes there, but I rarely get any on my chin unless I use the wrong cosmetics. However, after using this, I'm suffering from facial itching and hard blemishes. I ended up switching to another brand's aloe product.

I deducted two stars due to absorption, finish, and itchiness. However, I liked how it applies and its moisturizing effect, which is unlike other soothing gels. I'd give it about 3.5 stars if I could. Overall impression: Unlike other soothing gels, I liked that it wasn't drying due to its moisturizing effect! However, it felt a bit viscous and sticky. It gave a coating sensation on the skin and felt like a very light soothing gel cream. Compared to other soothing gels, it was richer, giving the skin a dewy glow. Individual experiences may vary. Texture: It was like a light gel cream. Other soothing gels have a firm texture and finish cool and fresh when applied, but this one had a very light cream texture. It didn't feel like a soothing gel, but exactly like a light jelly cream. Please refer to the photos. Absorption: It absorbs more slowly compared to other soothing gels. Instead of finishing cool and fresh, it has a sticky and rich finish, taking some time to sink in. It was a unique experience. Moisturizing power: It's not fresh, but contains oil and moisture, so there was no dryness or skin itching caused by dryness. I thought people with dry skin might like it. Scent: It smells like hand sanitizer, but it's not strong - just a very faint scent that isn't bothersome. Packaging: It was convenient to use as it comes in a tube rather than a jar. The black background with green accents really catches the eye. Ingredients: The ingredients are good, but it might vary from person to person. Personally, it didn't suit me well... due to the texture and finish that wasn't fresh. Recommended for normal to dry skin!! It seems perfect for those who worry that regular soothing gels dry out their face. And since it feels more like a gel cream than a typical soothing gel, it seems good for gently moisturizing the body and hydrating the face. However, I advise those with sensitive skin to reconsider.
ConsIt contains green tea extract, which might be why my skin felt itchy. So I don't apply it on my face... If you have sensitive skin, please make sure to test it before applying it to your face. Also, for a soothing gel, it leaves quite a residue. The stickiness remains, making the skin feel uncomfortable. It takes some time for that feeling to disappear.
TipWhen applied to the body, it's not drying at all and makes the skin smooth. It's good to apply frequently after showering or during regular use.

This review comes after 2 weeks of use on both face and body. Stickiness: Despite many reviews mentioning it, I didn't find it particularly sticky. It felt more slippery than sticky. Absorption: I'll detail this in the cons, but don't expect much in terms of absorption. Cooling effect: This is fantastic! I used to feel heat on my skin due to sun exposure, but since using this product, that sensation has disappeared. Even when I spray mist, the cooling effect remains. When I apply it after an evening shower, I never wake up feeling hot. The cooling effect is truly remarkable. Soothing: Soothing effects? I'm not sure where this is supposed to soothe... Additional note: It works better on the body than the face. I had some discoloration and roughness on my waist from scratching. After refraining from scratching and consistently applying this product after washing, the area became smooth and the discoloration disappeared in about 3 days.
ConsThe absorption is really disappointing... I noticed the absorption tag, but maybe it's set low? Those with blemish-prone skin should be cautious. I usually only get blemishes before my period, but after using this, they appeared all over my face. It's upsetting... If you use this product, I recommend using a soothing cream alongside it, or just using it on your body instead.
TipTo reduce stickiness, try applying small amounts gradually, letting each layer absorb before adding more.
