That's why I always try to maximize hydration before bed. Also, since I have sensitive skin, using just any product can make my face break out... So I'm careful to scrutinize each ingredient before use. Skincare routine: - Toner pad ➡ Toner ➡ Soothing cream ➡ Moisturizer I use COSRX green toner pads, and I previously used La Porte Celle products for toner and soothing cream. For moisturizer, I use a snail cream. Usage period: 03/22/22~03/31/22 (10 days total) Product review: When you think of 'yam', you probably imagine a sticky, mucilaginous substance. I was curious about how a toner with this ingredient would perform, and I thought it might be great for hydration, so I decided to try it. When I first received it, unlike other typically clear toners, it had a cloudy white color reminiscent of yam. - Texture: It has a slightly runny consistency, like mucus, similar to actual yam extract. It's slippery but has a nice bounce to it. - Skin condition before use: I had a few blemishes on my face. - Skin condition after use: Due to the gentle ingredients, my existing blemishes disappeared and my skin became clearer. Scent: It's completely unscented, making it suitable for those with fragrance sensitivities.
ConsWhile it's moisturizing, my skin feels dry again after a few hours. It doesn't seem to live up to its anti-wrinkle claims. I haven't noticed any improvement in my fine lines.
TipThis isn't exactly a pro tip, but I applied an appropriate amount to my palms and gently spread it over my face. Afterwards, I cupped my face with my hands as if giving it a warm compress, then patted it in to aid absorption. It really leaves the skin feeling firm and bouncy!

This toner, however, strikes the perfect balance! I can't really find any faults with it. It absorbs well into the skin, and when I apply the next product, there's no pilling - it just sinks right in. I like that it has a slight viscosity, but it's not sticky at all. I have dry skin, and this toner works really well for me. I think it'll especially shine during the summer months. My husband tried it too. Men can be particular about skincare, but he said this essence-like formula is good enough to use on its own. He has acne-prone skin but found it gentle without any tingling sensation, so it should be great for sensitive skin types as well.
ConsThe flip-top cap might be a bit inconvenient, but since the formula isn't runny like water, it's not really an issue. As I've been using it, I realized it's not even a drawback. However, I haven't noticed any significant wrinkle improvement yet, which is why I deducted one star.
TipSince the formula isn't watery, it might work well as a mask if you soak cotton pads with it and chill them in the refrigerator before use.

The fact that it suits my skin alone is worth all five stars, honestly. Let me highlight a few key advantages: 1. The gentle formulation allows me to use it without issues - this is crucial. 2. It absorbs well into the skin. 3. My skin feels genuinely soft after use. Regarding point 3, I've been using this product daily since receiving it. On the first day, I applied it in the morning before work. When I got home and removed my sunscreen with cleansing water, followed by a cleansing foam... wow... my skin felt incredibly soft! This truly lives up to its name as a hydrating toner. I've won about four toners from Hwahae to try, and this one is by far my favorite!
ConsIt stings a bit if it gets in your eyes. As for anti-aging effects, I haven't noticed any yet. I just use it as a hydrating toner.
TipI apply this right after washing my face, and once it's absorbed, I apply another layer. It absorbs really quickly.

With the changing seasons, it's been leaning more towards dry lately. Unlike my usual toner, this one has a slightly viscous texture. Initially, I just applied it normally, but I've found that using it as a skin pack is great too. Since my previous toner had a water-like consistency, I felt the Yam Toner wasn't quite as hydrating comparatively. So, I layered a bit of my old toner underneath before doing the skin pack. The area between my eyebrows tends to get flaky, but when I use the Yam Toner as a skin pack, it doesn't accentuate the dead skin cells at all - which is fantastic! It leaves my skin texture soft and baby-smooth. Despite its slightly sticky, gliding texture, it absorbs quickly. Best of all, I love that my skin doesn't feel tight after applying just this toner and an emulsion.
ConsI haven't experienced any noticeable wrinkle improvement effects. If you have dry skin, you might find it lacks in hydration. It feels more nourishing than deeply moisturizing.
TipTry the skin pack method... you won't regret it!

My skin type: Oily with dehydration. Not completely dry, not completely oily - just ambiguous. Never had acne, but for the past 1-2 years, I've noticed small bumps on my nose, T-zone, and forehead (dermatologist said it's not flat warts, thankfully). As I transitioned from 22 to 23, I felt my skin changing from combination dehydrated to dry. I've also noticed my wrinkles, which I never paid attention to before, are getting deeper. Why I joined The Hwahae Testers: The Yam Moisturizing Toner's main claims are: (1) High hydration power using yam root (2) Wrinkle improvement I thought it might address my current skin concerns, so this review focuses on these two aspects. Usage experience: (1) Usage conditions 💧Used from Jan 12, 2021 to Jan 21, 2021 💧Used in morning and evening skincare routines * Same routine as before, but replaced Torien Dive-In Toner with Yam Moisturizing Toner * Always applied about 5 drops, layered twice - Morning: Cleansing water -> 🍃Yam Moisturizing Toner🍃 -> Torien Dive-In Serum -> Aqua Squalane Cream - Evening: Witch's Pouch Pure Cleansing Oil -> Witch's Pouch Pure & Deep Cleansing Foam -> 🍃Yam Moisturizing Toner🍃 -> Torien Dive-In Serum -> Aqua Squalane Cream (2) Product characteristics 💧Scent: Unless you're extremely sensitive to fragrances, it's suitable for everyone. Personally, it feels almost unscented. 💧Texture: Mucilaginous (most similar to nosewater). 💧Finish: Fresh. Don't assume it's sticky just because it's not watery. Interestingly, despite its mucilaginous texture, it leaves a fresh, water toner-like finish (most similar to starch water). This was a pleasant surprise. Oh? (3) Product effects 💧High hydration power **Note: I'm currently living in a school dormitory where it's extremely dry, and I can't survive without a humidifier** As someone with oily but dehydrated skin who struggles with deep dryness after washing, I focus on how much the toner alleviates that tightness. Unfortunately, one layer wasn't enough to completely eliminate the discomfort. Even slight discomfort can be very bothersome, so I applied a second layer. This reduced the tightness to a tolerable level. As I used the product more, I realized it doesn't hydrate by adding moisture deep into the skin, but by creating a strong moisture barrier on the skin's surface to prevent water loss. So while it might not completely resolve deep dryness, it seems to protect the skin's overall hydration. - It feels more like building a strong moisture barrier on the skin rather than deeply hydrating - If you're expecting it to solve deep dryness, you might be disappointed, but keep in mind this product has a different approach to skin hydration! 💧Wrinkle improvement **My forehead is rather flat, not rounded, so I have many fine lines there. Otherwise, my skin is relatively clear due to my young age.** Since it's advertised as a wrinkle-improving toner, I focused on how much it improved my wrinkles (especially my sunken forehead lines) during use. However, perhaps due to the short usage period, I haven't noticed any changes in wrinkles yet. 🔥However, I've definitely noticed my skin texture improving. It feels like something is rising from within, making my skin tighter and more refined (don't expect too dramatic results, though). While I'm not sure about wrinkle improvement, I feel my skin texture has really improved. Perhaps the advertised 'wrinkle improvement' is more focused on texture refinement, which is also a part of wrinkles. Keep this in mind if you're considering purchasing.
ConsSo far, I haven't found any significant drawbacks. The reason it's 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because I couldn't really feel the wrinkle improvement effect.
TipHey everyone! Especially for those like me who run hot all over, and even more so on the face! Make sure to refrigerate your toners and serums! Applying them cool feels so good on the skin and provides a nice cooling effect!

Many might think dry skin doesn't get blemishes, but my skin barrier is compromised, so I have deep dryness and some blemishes too. On top of that, I have super sensitive skin that's as delicate as a jellyfish. I applied it in 4 steps morning and night: non-sticky essence toner - this Daom Yam Moisture Toner - serum - cream. After using it for 2 weeks, here are the advantages I noticed: Texture It's not completely non-sticky, but it's not overly viscous either. It's great because it doesn't pill or slide when applied before makeup Hydration As a hydrating toner, it seems to provide good moisture I tend to have severe deep dryness, but I didn't experience any while using this Fast Absorption It absorbs quickly after patting it in Firm Finish Perhaps due to its anti-wrinkle properties, it leaves a firm finish Gentle Ingredients I was worried about yam extract after getting some blemishes from another yam cream toner, but now my forehead bumps have almost disappeared, and I didn't break out during use. I think I'll continue using this for a long time. Fragrance-Free There's no scent, so there shouldn't be any likes or dislikes regarding fragrance
ConsDisadvantages: The firm finish might feel sticky if you layer it multiple times Inconvenient Packaging... The opening drips when dispensing the product Anti-Wrinkle Effects I'm not sure if it's because I only used it for 2 weeks, but I couldn't really tell the effects Accessibility As it's a brand I hadn't heard of before and haven't seen any ads for, I think it might not be a well-known product
TipRecommended for those with dry skin and deep dryness!

Highly recommended if you're looking for an unscented hydrating toner for dry skin. Texture: It has a stretchy consistency, similar to yam extract. However, it's not sticky at all and feels slightly slippery when applied. Due to its runny texture, I recommend using it as a hydrating toner rather than an exfoliating one. Application: It glides on smoothly, leaving your skin feeling moisturized without any greasiness. You can layer it 2-3 times without it feeling heavy. Hydration: It seems to work well. Since it can be used in place of an essence, those with dry skin can layer it multiple times before applying cream, which should prevent significant dryness. In summer, this alone might be sufficient.
ConsWhile it claims to have anti-wrinkle properties, I didn't notice any improvement in that area. It's a decent winter toner for dry skin, but nothing extraordinary.
TipFor best results, start with a light, water-based exfoliating toner, then layer this product 2-3 times. This method eliminates the need for a separate essence.

It's perfect for use during the fall/winter transition season! Also, it would be great for those with dry skin to apply before makeup. -Hydration and Scent- 5/5 The hydration level was incredibly moisturizing! It's perfect for those with dry skin! As someone with oily skin, I found it a bit too hydrating, but those with dry skin will likely be very satisfied! It seems ideal for people in their 30s and 40s. Also, it's not overly greasy and adheres well to the skin when applied. The scent was almost non-existent! As someone sensitive to fragrances, I appreciated the lack of scent. -Packaging- 5/5 Firstly, I loved that there's a generous amount of product! I prefer toners with smaller openings, as it's easier to control the amount and apply directly to the face without using hands. This product fits that preference perfectly! It was very convenient to use, and using it with a cotton pad is super hygienic. -Skin Changes After Use- 4/5 I've only used it for two weeks, so there haven't been any dramatic effects yet. However, I haven't experienced any blemishes, and despite my sensitive skin that usually reacts to even slightly unsuitable products, this one caused no irritation at all! Since it's an anti-wrinkle product, it might be more suitable for those in their 30s-40s. I gave it to my mother to try, and she's currently using it! My parents also have sensitive skin, but they haven't experienced any irritation and love how moisturizing it is! I think we'll need to use it longer to see the anti-wrinkle effects (I'll leave another review if I notice any results later). It's so hydrating that it would work well as a toner mask too! It seems perfect for use during this season.
ConsThere weren't any downsides! It's a hydrating product that would be great for those with dry skin. I've only used it for about two weeks, so I haven't seen the anti-wrinkle effects yet, but I'll upload a separate review if I notice any improvements with continued use.
TipIt's extremely hydrating, making it perfect to use as a toner mask with a cotton pad! I've been using it myself lately when my skin feels dry.

The texture was so rich and luxurious. I was initially worried it might feel too sticky on my face, but let me tell you - there's absolutely no need for concern! The way it absorbs is simply amazing. Within seconds of application, it feels like you've had a moisturizer on for half an hour. I love how this toner envelops the skin, providing that deep hydration feeling. Since it claims to help with wrinkles, I made sure to apply it diligently on my neck too. Check out my before and after photos for reference. Now, let me sum it up for you! ♥️ Non-sticky goodness! Despite its rich appearance, it absorbs quickly into the skin. The texture is unique - thick yet fluid like water, making it comfortable to use. ♥️ Hydration boost! I was surprised by how much moisture it provided with just the toner alone, and even more impressed by how long it lasted. If you're looking for a hydrating skincare product for the cooler weather, I highly recommend this line! ♥️ Subtle brightening effect Since using this, people have been asking why my skin looks so much brighter. While results may vary, I personally noticed my complexion becoming more radiant - it's a win-win! ♥️ Wrinkle improvement Although I don't have many facial wrinkles yet, I was concerned about how to review this aspect. However, I consistently applied it to areas like my neck and elbows, which tend to be darker and more wrinkled. I'm pleased to say I've seen definite improvements!
ConsThe toner alone didn't provide enough hydration for me. I didn't notice any remarkable wrinkle improvement effects.
TipWhile it's great for facial wrinkle care, it's also beneficial for areas like the neck and elbows where discoloration and wrinkles can be a concern. Using the entire line together might amplify the effects.
