My skin is flushed and dry, but if I apply this thinly, it covers everything smoothly and gives a pearl-like glow. It's a bit difficult to get the last bit when it's used up, and I wish there was one more puff included. Buy Daiso puffs and use them, or dab the remaining amount with a foundation brush. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 25, 2025
Wow, this is truly my holy grail product. I accidentally bought the renewed version instead of this one, so I can't use it right now. But if you're looking for hydration? This is an absolute must-have. Since it aims for a natural look and focuses on hydration, the coverage isn't particularly strong. I always use it with powder. That combination works perfectly for me. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 15, 2025
Texture & Application The cushion's content has a slightly fluid, hydrating essence-like texture. When pressed with the puff, it doesn't transfer too much product, but applies thinly and evenly. The application is incredibly smooth and blends effortlessly, almost as if it's melting into my skin. Its excellent adherence allows for a beautiful skin finish without requiring any special technique. ⸻ Coverage & Skin Finish This product focuses on a 'natural skin-like finish' rather than full coverage. • It conceals about 70-80% of blemishes and redness, with the rest subtly peeking through, resulting in a healthier, more realistic skin appearance. • Even with just one layer, it covers imperfections to some extent while creating a luminous semi-glow finish. Surprisingly, it layers beautifully without caking, allowing for very natural build-up. It truly lives up to its reputation as the gold standard for 'texture expression' from a makeup artist brand. ⸻ Color [Medium] Experience I used the color **[Medium]**, which: • Is a neutral beige that blends naturally with medium skin tones (between shade 22-23). • Balances out redness in ruddy skin and doesn't look too ashy on yellow-toned skin - it's a really well-crafted shade. It's perfect for when you want to even out your skin tone while maintaining a natural glow. ⸻ Longevity & Pilling • Initially, it gives a dewy, beautiful glow, but over time it settles into a subtle radiance that breaks down naturally. • It might not suit those seeking a completely matte base, but if you want skin that looks even better as time passes, you'll be satisfied. • However, for oily skin or in hot weather, it may break down around the nose and T-zone. For oily skin types, I recommend setting with powder or using a fixer. ⸻ Overall Assessment • Pros: - Natural and sophisticated skin finish - Thin application with high adherence - Beautiful radiance with semi-glow finish - Skin-like coverage - Even when it breaks down, it does so beautifully and naturally • Cons: - Might feel slightly rich for oily skin - The puff tends to absorb some product - Limited coverage for dark circles/prominent blemishes ⸻ In conclusion, 'Thin and lightweight, yet sophisticated and flawless skin expression'. This cushion is perfect for those who want to look like they naturally have good skin, rather than looking heavily made up. 1. Might feel slightly heavy for oily skin While the glow is great for dry to normal skin, it may feel a bit heavy or break down faster on oily skin. In such cases, I recommend lightly setting with a 'long-wear setting powder'! 2. The puff absorbs product slightly The included puff is nicely dense, but it tends to soak up some of the product. It's best to be careful with product control. Some people even opt to use a different puff. 3. Not for complete blemish coverage While it creates a beautiful skin finish, for dark spots, dark circles, or inflamed blemishes, you'll need to pair it with a concealer for higher satisfaction. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 11, 2025
The first day I applied it and went out, it was absolutely amazing. Everyone I met asked what I was using because my skin looked so good. It had just the right amount of hydration without being too matte. The texture was perfect for application. The coverage is also excellent - you can conceal everything with just this product alone. The darkening effect is truly legendary... in the worst way possible. After a while, it's like you've applied dirt to your face. The color is already dark, and since I have oily skin, it seems even worse. I realize now that on the first day, when everyone complimented my skin, we were in a dimly lit bar. It's such a waste of money. Even when I apply it thinly and layer a lighter cushion on top that doesn't usually cause darkening, the effect is still extreme. I always end up looking like I'm covered in dirt. It's heartbreaking because I love the coverage, the color, and how it feels, but the darkening makes it unusable. If it weren't for the darkening, I'd dare say this would be the best cushion of my life. - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 3, 2025
I loved it so much after trying it that I even gifted it to my mom! It adheres well to the skin and feels nicely hydrating. The cushion seems to contain a bit less product than expected. It feels like it'll run out quickly. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinMar 31, 2025
It adheres well to the skin, provides great coverage, and is super moisturizing - perfect for dry skin types! Honestly, you need to buy one or even two shades lighter than your actual complexion. It's seriously way too dark. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinMar 14, 2025
I use shade 23 and the Medium matches my complexion perfectly! First off, the adherence is amazing and the coverage exceeds expectations. It's moderately moisturizing, so the hydration isn't bad at all. There's hardly any darkening, and it doesn't break down or separate even after hours of wear. This could have been my holy grail cushion... I have combination dehydrated skin prone to blemishes, and the biggest drawback is... my skin completely flared up after using this. That's why I deducted one star. It seems to work fine for others, so I guess it depends on the individual. If you have very severe acne-prone skin, I strongly recommend at least testing it before purchasing. The reason for the skin flare-up might be due to the higher content of stearic acid compared to other cushions. This ingredient can clog pores. Those with oily, acne-prone skin should carefully check for the presence of stearic acid when buying cushions to avoid blemish breakouts. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 3, 2025
This is my holy grail cushion foundation! The perfect balance of hydration and coverage. It's moisturizing yet provides excellent coverage, concealing pores beautifully. The color is lovely, and it has great staying power. I've gone through several refills because I love it so much! The puff is round, but I think if it had a slightly pointed tip like a teardrop shape, which is common in newer puffs, it would be even better for covering around the nose area. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 4, 2025
First off, I have combination skin with severe dead skin cells, redness, blemishes, and scarring, along with a yellowish undertone. Coverage: It takes about 3 layers to achieve decent coverage. Adherence: Since one layer isn't nearly enough, I have to apply multiple layers, which unfortunately leads to significant transfer. Recommended skin tone: 22-23 (the formula has a yellowish tint). Longevity: Lasts about 5-6 hours. Hydration: It's incredibly hydrating! To start, there's some transfer, and I wouldn't recommend it for those with oily skin. (It might not suit cool-toned individuals either.) It seems better suited for winter use or for those with dry skin. I'd suggest choosing a shade lighter than your actual skin tone. When I matched it to my skin tone, the darkening effect was quite noticeable. It breaks down badly under heater air, and it doesn't look pretty when it does. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 10, 2025
This cushion foundation is truly top-tier when it comes to hydration! It's especially great for those with darker complexions. The darkening effect was quite noticeable... and it transfers heavily onto masks and hats, which is a real issue.
