After applying, it definitely helps the base adhere well. There's also a subtle glow that makes your skin look healthy and vibrant. When I first used it, I felt some itching on my face. It turns out I wasn't the only one - my friend tried mine and said it was itchy too. Of course, after using it a few times, the itchy sensation went away. (No blemishes appeared though) Rather than applying with your hands, using a foundation brush to apply and then gently patting it seems to give better adherence and a more even application.

But ever since I bought the water cream, I haven't seen my makeup caking anymore. The base also absorbs well, and foundation goes on nicely over it. There really wasn't anything in particular. I haven't been able to find any shortcomings yet.

I'm applying sunscreen and using it only on the cheeks, and as time goes by, the luminous feeling builds up, making it even better. I'm planning to use it diligently before summer arrives. The more time you take to absorb, the less it will crumble!! If you raise it too quickly, the base will become mushy and clump together.
