1) The pads are incredibly soft and have a nice elastic tension that stretches well. One pad can cover an entire cheek area! 2) I love that the pads are generously soaked with the cream essence. 3) Even with my allergic, sensitive, and atopic skin, I experienced no irritation. It didn't sting even when my cheeks were painfully chapped. 4) I tried using it like a cleansing pad before applying makeup, and it worked great. It didn't cause pilling and my makeup applied smoothly afterwards. 1) Don't use this when you have thick dead skin cells buildup, as it won't absorb well and just sits on top of the skin. 2) It's not a product that dramatically transforms your skin. The package includes tweezers, and since the pads tend to shed fibers easily, handle them gently when picking them up. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinAug 10, 2021
The amount of essence is generous, and the pads are wide and stretchy, making them perfect for a skin pack. It's convenient with the built-in tweezers, and the pads are thick, holding a lot of essence. Even after using it as a skin pack, there's enough essence left in the pad to apply to dry areas like the back of your hands. Initially, I used it thinking it would be highly moisturizing, but as I continued using it, I couldn't really notice any significant benefits for my skin. The essence seemed to sit on top of my skin rather than absorbing well. It became a product I rarely reached for. I feel like buying two regular gauze pads might be a better option. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinAug 20, 2020
Unlike regular pads, the essence is thinner with a slightly viscous texture. Designed for hydration rather than exfoliation, these generously sized pads (though not stretchable) are perfect for a mask-like treatment. While it does provide hydration, the essence doesn't absorb well and seems to sit on top of the skin. Not recommended for busy mornings when you're in a rush. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 17, 2019
I've been using Dermatory Cica Pads with great satisfaction, so when I heard about their Cream Moisturizing Pads, I knew I had to try them. I finally got the chance, and here's what I think. First off, just like the Cica Pads, the box comes with a hygienic cover and tweezers for easy application, as well as an inner lid. Upon opening, you're greeted with pads soaked in a rich, creamy essence. The texture reminds me of slightly watered-down yogurt! The scent is almost non-existent, with just a hint of that medicinal ointment smell. It's not overpowering at all, so it shouldn't bother most people. When you pick up a pad with the tweezers, it feels soft and floppy due to being saturated with the creamy essence. Because they're so essence-rich and delicate, it's best to quickly place one on your cheek and spread it around. These pads are incredibly moisturizing. One pad holds enough essence to cover both cheeks, forehead, and still not dry out even after 20 minutes. That's some serious hydration power! The pad material is soft and stretchy, making it easy to fit on different areas of your face. I didn't experience any blemishes or irritation while using these pads, which is always a plus. While these pads provide ample moisture with long-lasting effects, they're slow to absorb. The hydration feels more oily than watery. If you have oily skin, you might find these extremely greasy. I wouldn't recommend them for oily skin types. Even with my dry skin, I found the oiliness a bit much, and it felt like it was sitting on top of my skin rather than absorbing fully. The user experience wasn't ideal for me. These might feel heavy and stuffy during summer use. The texture of the pads themselves was really nice, but... For those times when your skin feels dry and sensitive, try this routine after cleansing: Apply a Dermatory Cica Pad while you dry your hair. Once your hair is dry, use one of these moisturizing pads all over your face, letting it absorb. Then, finish with a light moisturizer to balance out the oil and lock in the hydration. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 29, 2019
As a member of The Hwahae Testers, here's my review. My skin type is the common combination dehydrated skin. I have slightly enlarged pores that occasionally turn into blemishes. Due to pollen allergies, my face gets red and tingly during long outings. That's why I've been using Dermatory's Hypoallergenic Cica Rescue Gauze Pads (the purple tub pads) lately. • Hygienic packaging I usually avoid jar-type creams as spoon management is annoying. However, this product is convenient to use - after removing the seal, you close it with the included middle cap, place the tweezers on top, and then close the lid. • Ultimate hydration As spring transition season arrived, my skin became even drier than in winter. My usual products weren't cutting it, so I was using cream masks almost daily. But after using these pads, my skin's deep dryness was resolved by over 90%. Despite having larger pores and some blemishes on my cheeks, this product didn't cause any pore issues. • Generous essence, perfect size Truth be told, it's more of a cream than an essence, as the name suggests. I used it every other night before bed, placing one pad on each cheek for about 30 minutes, then spreading the remaining essence on my face. Unlike the purple tub pads which are smaller and require more for full face coverage, these are perfect for covering one cheek each. However, as my T-zone doesn't need as much hydration, I used the purple pads there. With this routine, my skin didn't feel tight at all for two days straight. Also, while the sheet mask from the same line is quite heavy and doesn't adhere well, these pads stick to the skin better, making them more versatile. • Extremely rich texture, not recommended for oily skin Even when used as a mask and trying to maximize absorption, there's still a sticky residue left on the skin. Hair and dust tend to stick to it. As a result, it was nearly impossible to use in the morning before makeup or going out. I ended up only using it after coming home and washing up, or before bed. As the weather gets hot and humid, I'll likely reduce usage to once a week. • Only suitable as a mask replacement / Not recommended for daily use Unlike the purple tub pads, these are difficult to wipe off. The essence is too rich to absorb well by wiping, so unless you wipe your entire body, you end up wasting the pad's essence. Also, due to its very oily nature, it's too rich for daily use. Unless you have extremely dry skin, it's essential to adjust the frequency of use. My current evening skincare routine: Cleanse with cotton pad + water-based toner - Citrus serum - (Every other day) This product as a mask - Lightly wipe off surface stickiness with cotton pad + water-based toner - Cream (optional) Before using this product, I used sheet masks, but now I've replaced them with this. I don't recommend using this product along with sheet masks or other oily products. After treatment, wiping once with a gentle water-based toner can help reduce excessive stickiness and surface oil. Recommended for: • Those with clearly dry skin • Those who feel dry without daily masks • Those willing to tolerate some stickiness to combat deep dryness * Strongly recommended for those who like the ingredients and effects of the sheet mask from the same line but find its size and texture burdensome. The attached photos should help you gauge the size of the product and amount of essence. I plan to repurchase this along with the purple tub pads. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 27, 2019
Here's my review as part of The Hwahae Testers: After winning this product, I've been using it for 2 weeks. I have combination skin with severe dryness on my cheeks. Positives: · Can provide hydration to dry areas or wherever needed · Generous amount of essence allows for liberal application · Didn't cause any blemishes (at least for my skin) Overall, it's a decent product! Unfortunately, there are some downsides that left me disappointed: · The excessive amount of essence drips even before application · The hydration level is ambiguous - not quite as effective as a sheet mask · Absorption is a bit slow, and it feels like it sits on the surface slightly · It doesn't seem particularly cost-effective I didn't feel a strong need to purchase this product again. I was excited to win it when I was considering trying it for my extreme dryness, but it didn't exceed my expectations, which is disappointing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 25, 2019
The pads are nicely saturated with moisture... The included tweezers make them convenient to use... For my combination dehydrated skin, it feels too superficial. Rather than deeply hydrating, it seems to just sit on the surface... Unfortunately, it's not a good match for me. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinMar 23, 2019
I got to try this for two weeks thanks to winning a Hwahae giveaway! It was my first time winning an event, so I was thrilled to use it. Thank you so much! The Dermatory Hypoallergenic Cica Rescue Gauze Pad comes with 60 sheets in 100ml for 22,000 won. It's free from 20 skin-irritating harmful ingredients and has passed allergy testing! First off, I didn't experience any blemishes while using this. Perhaps because the ingredients are gentle, it didn't cause any adverse reactions, and the hydration was quite good. When you stretch the pad with your hands, it expands impressively. This makes it not too small when applied, and the amount of essence in each pad is just right. It stays put well and doesn't fall off easily. The mask doesn't dry out quickly! Usually, when left on for a long time, masks dry up completely, but this one stays moist. Even after using it on my face, the pad remains damp enough to use on my neck or arms. Absorption was faster than expected when patted in with hands. The essence inside is so plentiful it sloshes around, so I think there will be some left even after using all the pads. Hygienically, it comes with tweezers and a cap, so you don't need to use separate tweezers to take out the pads. The pads themselves are soft, not rough at all. It leaves a bit of an oily feeling. Even after absorption, it felt like there was excess oil on the surface. The scent might be hit or miss. It's like a medicinal smell? I've smelled it before, and it's not particularly pleasant. However, it's not so strong that it's unbearable to keep on. The included tweezers were small, making them a bit inconvenient to use. The price point isn't super cheap, especially for a student like me. But I'd consider repurchasing during a sale. While I used it almost daily for the Hwahae test, if you're planning to use it two or three times a week, the price might not be bad. There's plenty of essence sloshing around inside, and you get a good number of pads. Since there's so much essence inside, it might be good to decant some into an empty bottle! In the morning, using a whole pad before makeup felt too heavy, so I cut it in half. I wiped my face with that, let it absorb, then applied makeup. My makeup went on better than usual! Don't just stick the pad on as is - stretch it out before applying. Even after using it on your face, the pad will still be moist. Don't waste it - use the remainder on your neck or arms. I recommend using it as a toner and essence in the morning, and as a mask in the evening. I also used this for touch-ups. If you wipe with the pad and then touch up with cushion foundation, your skin looks as fresh as in the morning! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 22, 2019
I'm so grateful to have won the Hwahae Testers selection for the first time! As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I can say that the dry areas are really dry. This is just my personal opinion, and individual experiences may vary. It was my first time trying a Dermatory product, and I was truly impressed. Here are the highlights: Essence Quantity: There's an abundance of essence! I've never seen so much before - it's amazing they've included this much. You could even use it with cotton pads after finishing the sheet. Scent: It's fragrance-free, though I detected a slight medicinal scent. My sensitive nose picked it up, but my mom couldn't smell anything. Pad: Perfect for masking! It's thick and covers my entire cheek area, which tends to be very dry. The size seems well-considered. It's also so soft, it puts me in a good mood. Elasticity: The stretchiness is incredible. You can expand the circular pad horizontally, and it stretches beautifully. Adherence: I tried laughing, running around, and all sorts of movements, but it stayed put! Usually, sheet masks fall off when I move, but this one's adherence is excellent. Gentleness: Despite my sensitive skin that often reacts to products, I didn't experience any tingling or discomfort at all with this one. For Very Dry Skin: Highly recommended for those with extremely dry skin due to its excellent hydration properties. Pre-makeup Use: I use this before applying makeup. I typically use a matte base, which can be challenging to apply in winter, but when I use this mask and let it absorb before makeup application, my foundation goes on smoothly! One sheet is more than enough for the entire face. However, I'd suggest using it 3-4 times a week rather than daily, especially when your skin feels parched. Hygiene: The packaging is really hygienic. There's a clip inside and a second lid, which helps keep dust out. Hydration: It provides excellent hydration. I left it on for 15 minutes, then placed it on my desk overnight. Surprisingly, essence was still dripping from the pad - 2-3 drops fell, which amazed me. That concludes the positives - there are many! And yes, I would definitely repurchase this product. While there are many positives, there are also some drawbacks: Rich Texture: As it's a hydrating pad, it does feel rich, but I prefer products that absorb quickly. I found it a bit too oily even after absorption. Lingering Sensation: While the overall experience was good, there was a persistent surface feeling that I didn't particularly enjoy. Daily Use Concern: It feels a bit heavy for everyday use. As mentioned in the positives, I'd recommend using it 3-4 times a week. Excess Essence: This could be seen as both a pro and a con. For me, there's too much essence. When I pick up the pad with the clip, it drips, and it also drips when I apply it to my cheeks. I think I'll need to remove some excess before use. That's all for the drawbacks! Here are my pro tips: If there's too much essence for pad use, apply a small amount with your hands for a less overwhelming experience. After using the pad, there's still a lot of essence left. You can apply the used pad to areas like your legs or heels for extra softness. It stays put well too! Thank you for reading my lengthy review! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 10, 2019
First off, I absolutely love the 'sleek design'. It's fantastic! The package includes a 'plastic cap' and 'transparent plastic clip' in a separate small bag to prevent dust from getting inside - these little details really impressed me at first glance. The white essence was generously soaked into the mask, which was great. When I put it on my face, it felt 'wonderfully moisturizing, though a bit rich'. The pad is stretchable, allowing it to cover most of one side of the face, which I found both fascinating and convenient. My dry skin felt incredibly hydrated even the day after just one use - it was amazingly soft and smooth! The pad itself was incredibly soft and pleasant to the touch. As I mentioned, it feels a bit too rich. I can't really call it hydrating because it doesn't seem to moisturize deep into the skin, but rather sits on top. It's quite slippery and feels like a thin layer of oil on the skin. Because of this, I strongly feel it might not be suitable for those with oily skin types. (Also, as someone with acne-prone skin, I noticed a slight tingling sensation when the essence touched areas with open blemishes.) Even with my combination skin, while my skin felt softer after use, I think the excess essence led to increased oiliness. Sadly, I woke up with two new inflammatory acne spots on my cheeks that weren't there the night before. Additionally, while the mask adheres well to the face initially due to the abundant essence, it gradually slips down as time passes. If the essence was just moderately moisturizing, it probably wouldn't cause this excess oiliness leading to acne or the slipping issue. I'm on my second day of use now, and I feel like if I were to use this daily, my skin would become extremely oily and I'd break out terribly. Real caution is needed here! When there's too much essence on the mask, try draining some of it back into the container.
