My skin gets really dry deep down. Since I'm always in a rush to get to work, I keep these in my car and stick one on my face while driving. It helps my skin feel less parched when I get to the office. It can leave your hands a bit sticky, which transfers to the steering wheel, but that's not a big deal - you can just wipe it off. Recommended for use during car commutes - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 16, 2020
I have sensitive combination skin. Regarding irritation and blemishes: I bought this after checking the ingredients, and after using it, I didn't experience any irritation or blemishes. Application: This is both a pro and a con - there's so much essence that it's quite sticky, and when you put the pad on your face, the essence drips off. It feels like you need to add more pads to use up all the essence. Absorption: Since the essence is on the stickier side, I wouldn't say it absorbs quickly. However, if you use it as a mask by leaving the pad on your skin, it absorbs well, albeit slowly. Hydration: The hydration is good. Each pad is so saturated with essence that if you help it absorb well, it seems to be an excellent pad for hydration. I think one pad could be enough for your entire skincare routine before makeup. These days, because of COVID, we often wear masks when going out, so this kind of skincare product is actually very useful. While it's both an advantage and disadvantage, there's so much essence compared to the pad size that when you apply it to your skin with your hands, it feels a bit sticky and drips, which can be uncomfortable. That's why they include tweezers, and it's easy to store, so you end up using the tweezers. Usually, even when pads come with tweezers, I just use my hands to take out one at a time, but with this one, I find myself actually using the tweezers. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 6, 2020
Each pad is generously soaked in essence, giving it a strong sheet mask-like feel. I always do a skin pack before bed, but this is even more convenient - just take out a sheet and place it on. It's so hydrating that it's enough to use this alone after evening out my skin texture before bed. I'm really enjoying using it. There's a very slight stickiness during the absorption process, which might be characteristic of the pack's essence. It's more than enough to place it only on areas that really need hydration and apply the remaining amount to other parts. In the photo, I placed three pads, but the essence was so abundant it overflowed! Later, I found using just two pads was sufficient. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinMar 5, 2020
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. Everyone around me was raving about the Dermatory Cream Moisturizing Pads, so I skeptically applied to test them and was given this opportunity. We often hear that dry skin can actually make pores appear larger, and I've found this to be true as I age. I used to carelessly apply emulsions or creams for moisturizing, but now I use these pads right after cleansing. I place them on my cheeks and between my eyebrows where I have some dead skin cells, and spread the excess essence on the rest of my face, neck, and even my dry hands. The essence doesn't drip, which is great. After about 10 minutes, the essence dries, leaving my skin feeling wonderfully hydrated. It seems to have a pore-minimizing effect too, perhaps because the essence fills in the enlarged pores. When I wake up, my skin feels soft and supple without any tightness. For someone like me who finds full-face sheet masks tedious, these pads are the perfect size. They stretch well as claimed - I really pulled them out as you can see in the photos. I also love that there's plenty of essence absorbed in the pads with extra to spare. As it's a moisturizing product, it doesn't feel fresh right after application due to its stickiness. However, this feeling subsides after a while. Also, like with any skincare product, it's best to avoid getting the essence too close to your eyes. When I placed it between my eyebrows, some essence got into my inner eye area. I didn't wash it off, and by morning I felt a slight discomfort or foreign sensation in my eyes. For me, there's too much essence in the pads to use comfortably in the morning unless I have plenty of time. It takes a while to spread and absorb the essence, so I prefer to use them at night after cleansing before bed. I find this works better for me. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 1, 2020
*A review from The Hwahae Testers* ✔️My skin type is sensitive/combination/acne-prone, with acne mainly on my forehead and occasionally on my cheeks. ✔️The product was larger than expected. I was surprised to see it full of essence when I opened the lid! The essence has a slippery texture and is fragrance-free (no need to worry about scent). The pads are made of a stretchable material, which is great for covering larger areas! I tried this product in 4 different ways: 1️⃣Applied one pad to my forehead for 3 minutes, then gently patted the essence all over my face (one pad has enough essence for the entire face). 👉I got some blemishes on my cheeks. However, this seems to be due to the rich texture blocking pores rather than an ingredient issue. (Not inflamed, more like simple sebum buildup) 2️⃣Applied pads to forehead and cheeks for 5 minutes, then gently patted the essence all over my face, followed by a light rinse with water 5 times. 👉Since it's a rich product, I wanted to slightly reduce the oiliness for my acne-prone skin by gently rinsing with water (very lightly, not aggressively). 👉Even after rinsing, my skin didn't feel tight. Instead, it felt hydrated and soft on the surface. 🔺Recommended for oily skin in the morning🔺 3️⃣Applied pads to forehead and cheeks for 10 minutes, then gently patted the essence all over my face, massaged until it felt firm, followed by a light rinse with water 3 times. 👉Similar to method 2, I very gently rinsed with water 3 times. Although I increased the time and decreased the number of rinses compared to method 2, the results were the same. 🔺Recommended for combination and dry skin in the morning🔺 4️⃣Applied pads to forehead, cheeks, and chin for 15 minutes, then gently patted the essence all over my face and massaged until it felt firm. Unlike methods 2 and 3, no water rinse. 👉Since I didn't rinse, it felt slightly sticky for a few hours, but became softer over time. 👉However, like method 1, I got some small bumps on my cheeks (not inflamed, more like sebum buildup from blocked pores). • I also tried it on my elbows and legs. It definitely calmed down dead skin cells immediately, as expected from a hydrating pad. However, I don't recommend it for legs due to the rich texture that doesn't feel great when touching things. But it worked well on elbows! • If you use up all the pads, you could use the remaining essence like a serum! ⭐️The best thing about using this product!! When I wake up in the morning, my skin feels incredibly soft! Even though I didn't use it right before bed and did a light cleanse in between, my skin feels amazingly soft the next day!! It's not dry softness, but hydrated on the inside and soft on the outside with no tightness! Honestly, this feeling/effect makes me want to keep using it despite the initial richness after application. The downside is that due to its rich texture, absorption is slow, and this can lead to small bumps. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend it for those with very oily skin or those who dislike even the slightest stickiness. It's also not recommended for those with sensitive skin, as the rich texture may clog pores and cause small bumps. I deducted one star for these reasons. Instead of rinsing with water in methods 2️⃣ and 3️⃣, I think it would be better to wipe with a cotton pad soaked in water or use a toner! (I haven't tried this myself yet as I'm still searching for the right skincare routine.) - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinNov 24, 2019
The finish is a bit sticky, but it seems to moisturize well. There's plenty of essence, and the pads are well-soaked, not dry at all. I have combination dehydrated skin. After washing my face, I apply this, wait a bit, then gently wipe it off and pat in the remaining essence. That's my whole basic skincare routine done. This alone is enough to prevent dryness - it feels quite rich. The finish tends to be sticky (In late autumn, it felt a bit oily, but from winter onwards, as my skin became drier, it felt more moisturizing than oily, which I liked). The Azulene pads are perfect for combination dehydrated skin, while the Allantoin pads are ideal for dry skin. The abundance of essence is great, but it can drip a bit when applied, so it's best to use after washing your face and before showering. The pads are easily stretchable, so when applying to the jawline, you can stretch them thin and long for a perfect fit (The Azulene pads are more structured and don't stretch when pulled). - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 3, 2019
Let me tell you about my skin situation. Last winter, thanks to the fine dust crisis, I ended up with combination dehydrated skin that's also sensitive and prone to adult acne. To top it off, even though I'm a guy, I have pretty fair skin, so any redness shows up really clearly. I tried everything - dermatologist prescriptions, various skincare products - but nothing seemed to work. I even overhauled my entire routine when my usual products started irritating my skin. Then one day, I saw a beauty YouTuber with sensitive skin using this product, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Here are the things I love about it: 1. Gentle despite being a pad Usually, no matter how good the ingredients are or how soft the cotton is, if I use a sheet mask, I'll break out in tiny blemishes and redness within 3 hours - no need to wait until the next day. But amazingly, this product didn't cause any of those side effects. 2. Provides both hydration and a bit of richness As a moisturizing pad, it definitely makes your skin feel hydrated. You'll definitely notice the effects here. But what's really interesting is that unlike other pads or masks where the moisture evaporates quickly, this one seems to leave a thin, almost oil-like film that helps your skin retain that hydration for much longer. 3. Hygienic packaging and ease of use I love that it comes with tweezers and a case to store them together, keeping everything sanitary. Also, unlike sheet masks which can be tricky to apply to specific areas, these pads are made of a stretchy material that lets you cover your whole face with just a few pieces (I use about 5 to cover my entire face). It's so convenient! Please note that these downsides are just my personal experience: 1. Slight blemishes with prolonged use After about a month of use, I noticed some small pimples and tiny bumps. However, this could be due to my extremely sensitive skin. 2. Slightly sticky feeling While it does help prevent moisture loss, there's a bit of stickiness, probably from the rich texture. This makes me hesitant to use it at night because I worry about dust sticking to my face while I sleep. 3. Pad inconvenience and small quantity Most critically, I've already used two-thirds of the product in just two weeks. Also, I find it a bit of a hassle to use these every few days. In fact, since buying the moisturizing cream from the same brand, Dermatory, I rarely use these pads anymore. But if you can overcome the inconvenience, it might work well for you. On my days off, after cleansing in the morning and prepping my skin with an exfoliating toner, I use one whole pad each on my cheeks and forehead (3 total), then cut another pad in half for my nose, chin, and any leftover spots on my forehead. So I use 5 pads in total. After 15 minutes, I remove them and reuse them on any dry areas of my body for about 5 minutes. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinJun 18, 2019
The only positive is the container design. Nothing else. Never. It's so bad I'm questioning if there's something wrong with me. 1. It's excessively rich. The sticky feeling is unpleasant. 2. It doesn't even absorb - if you scratch your face, it pills under your nails. 3. Blemishes. My skin completely broke out. I thought it might be due to my skin condition, so I tried it several times, but the result was always the same. Not just small bumps, but cystic acne covered my cheeks. (It's been 3 days and my skin is still a mess) I don't recommend buying products recklessly just because they have good ingredients. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 31, 2019
The hydration level is absolutely fantastic, which is the standout feature for me. While some sica gauze pads prioritize soothing effects, this product truly excels in moisture delivery. It's wonderful how each pad is generously saturated with essence. The stretchable nature of the pads is a bonus, allowing you to layer two or three when you want extra coverage. There's a slight sticky feeling that you might notice. Also, since you'll likely be opening and closing the container to use essence separately, the pads can dry out over time. It's a good idea to flip them occasionally to keep them moist. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 29, 2019
As a member of The Hwahae Testers, here's my review. My skin type is the common combination dehydrated skin. I have slightly enlarged pores that occasionally turn into blemishes. Due to pollen allergies, my face gets red and tingly during long outings. That's why I've been using Dermatory's Hypoallergenic Cica Rescue Gauze Pads (the purple tub pads) lately. • Hygienic packaging I usually avoid jar-type creams as spoon management is annoying. However, this product is convenient to use - after removing the seal, you close it with the included middle cap, place the tweezers on top, and then close the lid. • Ultimate hydration As spring transition season arrived, my skin became even drier than in winter. My usual products weren't cutting it, so I was using cream masks almost daily. But after using these pads, my skin's deep dryness was resolved by over 90%. Despite having larger pores and some blemishes on my cheeks, this product didn't cause any pore issues. • Generous essence, perfect size Truth be told, it's more of a cream than an essence, as the name suggests. I used it every other night before bed, placing one pad on each cheek for about 30 minutes, then spreading the remaining essence on my face. Unlike the purple tub pads which are smaller and require more for full face coverage, these are perfect for covering one cheek each. However, as my T-zone doesn't need as much hydration, I used the purple pads there. With this routine, my skin didn't feel tight at all for two days straight. Also, while the sheet mask from the same line is quite heavy and doesn't adhere well, these pads stick to the skin better, making them more versatile. • Extremely rich texture, not recommended for oily skin Even when used as a mask and trying to maximize absorption, there's still a sticky residue left on the skin. Hair and dust tend to stick to it. As a result, it was nearly impossible to use in the morning before makeup or going out. I ended up only using it after coming home and washing up, or before bed. As the weather gets hot and humid, I'll likely reduce usage to once a week. • Only suitable as a mask replacement / Not recommended for daily use Unlike the purple tub pads, these are difficult to wipe off. The essence is too rich to absorb well by wiping, so unless you wipe your entire body, you end up wasting the pad's essence. Also, due to its very oily nature, it's too rich for daily use. Unless you have extremely dry skin, it's essential to adjust the frequency of use. My current evening skincare routine: Cleanse with cotton pad + water-based toner - Citrus serum - (Every other day) This product as a mask - Lightly wipe off surface stickiness with cotton pad + water-based toner - Cream (optional) Before using this product, I used sheet masks, but now I've replaced them with this. I don't recommend using this product along with sheet masks or other oily products. After treatment, wiping once with a gentle water-based toner can help reduce excessive stickiness and surface oil. Recommended for: • Those with clearly dry skin • Those who feel dry without daily masks • Those willing to tolerate some stickiness to combat deep dryness * Strongly recommended for those who like the ingredients and effects of the sheet mask from the same line but find its size and texture burdensome. The attached photos should help you gauge the size of the product and amount of essence. I plan to repurchase this along with the purple tub pads.
