I remembered using this a few years ago, so I decided to try it again. It's just as I remember - it doesn't seem to come off easily! It smudges a bit and clumps when applying, which is disappointing. If you're looking for a natural makeup look, I recommend the brown shade. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 13, 2022
I've been using this since my student days... It's the king of value for money with its huge volume. The staying power is top-notch, and the color payoff is unbeatable. What's not to love? It does tend to dry out, but there's a solution! I'll share it below. Also, when it's slightly dried, it can clump up a bit like powder when applied. Place a bit of petroleum jelly in the corner of your gel liner. Dip your brush in the petroleum jelly before picking up the gel liner. This will help revive even dried-out product, making it easy to apply. Don't worry about smudging - once it dries, it won't budge and will have the same excellent staying power as the original gel liner. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinJan 9, 2022
It doesn't smudge easily, and even if you're not great at drawing eyeliner, this makes it easy to apply and correct mistakes! The only downside is that it can clump and harden on the brush. But it's not really an issue since it softens up again when you clean it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMay 22, 2021
You can live without the brush since you can wash and reuse it once you buy it. However, it seems to vary by store. It might be good to call and ask if they sell just the refill. The liner applies smoothly and is great for touch-ups. The brush is blunt, making it difficult to draw. So after using up other brands' brush pen eyeliners, I used those brushes with this. Tony Moly eyeliner's downside is that the brush often falls out, making a mess in your makeup bag. But brush pen eyeliners usually have caps, so they apply thinly and won't separate from the cap, which is nice. It smudges easily, so if you apply it carefully in the morning to avoid clumping, by afternoon you'll look like a ghost... lol. Anyway, you need to touch it up. It hardens after a few months of use. So I would scoop out a small amount of clean lip balm with a brush pen eyeliner and mix it into the Tony Moly eyeliner gel ink to soften it before it hardens. A tip is to apply some lip balm to one side of the cap in advance so you don't have to scoop it out again. And controlling the amount is important, otherwise it will smudge more due to the lip balm. You need to create a good base to control oil, then apply a controlled amount of eyeliner on top to reduce smudging. I've written everything above, so that's all folks! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 19, 2021
Out of all the eyeliners I've used, this one is the easiest to apply and draws beautifully! The color payoff is fantastic too. What's great is how long-lasting it is - I use it daily and it lasts me anywhere from 8 months to a year! It tends to smudge easily, and after 3-4 hours, it looks like someone wiped it off. Also, the gel formula tends to clump a bit. To prevent smudging, I spray on a fixer as the final step. It really helps minimize the smudging! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinAug 25, 2020
The natural brown color is easy to work with, and it doesn't dry too quickly, allowing for easy touch-ups. I found it a bit cumbersome. When applying, it can clump, and if you don't maintain the brush properly, it hardens. I'm not sure if this product has any standout features that make it worth the hassle. This gel-type eyeliner might be a good fit for those who prefer this style of product. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAug 22, 2020
There's a reason why this product is famous! I've known about it for a long time and seen many people using or recommending it. So when I ran out of my old eyeliner, I decided to give it a try. Before, I used pencil eyeliners, but they were pricey for the amount you got. Thick pencils were hard to draw with, thin ones broke easily, and you needed multiple strokes for good coverage. Tony Moly's gel eyeliner perfectly addresses these issues. As someone not particularly skilled at makeup, I often struggled with pencil liners and thought gel would be even trickier. But wow, was I wrong! It's surprisingly easy to use, and the brush quality is excellent. The way it sets is different from other eyeliners too. Some felt-tip liners set like a film, while others partially absorb into the skin, requiring lots of rubbing with oil to remove, which can cause irritation. Pencils had similar issues. But this gel eyeliner sits smoothly on the skin, setting with a nice elasticity. It doesn't dry out your lids, applies smoothly, and - thankfully - removes easily during cleansing. I was pleasantly surprised by how manageable it is to apply. You can control the thickness of the line, and using less product allows for a softer, more subtle look. If there's one downside, it's that the brown shade I'm using is more of a black-brown, which can look a bit dark on the eyes. The latte brown seemed too light, so I'm being picky, but it's still very usable. Just keep in mind it's a deep black-brown! Also, as you use it, the liner can clump on the brush, making precise application difficult. You'll need to clean the brush frequently. In the same line, from left to right are latte brown and brown. The brown appears as a deep reddish-brown when applied to the eyes. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJun 12, 2020
The quantity is generous! Unless you're drawing on your brows daily, this could easily last you two years. The color is beautiful, and it applies with great pigmentation due to the ample amount that comes out. Over time, you might end up with panda eyes as it tends to smudge. The brush becomes stiffer and clumps up with continued use, requiring regular cleaning. It's also a bit tricky to control the amount, so you might accidentally apply too much if you're not careful. Remember to clean the brush frequently for best results. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 24, 2020
The color payoff is fantastic! It applies smoothly, and I love it so much that I keep repurchasing! It tends to clump and doesn't seem to last very long. I don't like how it smudges easily. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 17, 2020
First off, I absolutely love the brown color. And that unique soft feel or impression of the brush gel eyeliner? Whatever it is, it's just fantastic! I started with this one, but initially found it quite challenging to apply. The built-in brush would get clogged with product and become one with the brush... if you know what I mean. I had to buy a separate brush and practice a lot before I finally got the hang of it. Beginners might be better off with a pencil liner! Also, after application, it tends to clump and smudge around the inner corner of the eye. While I like everything else about it, this is a major drawback. It's great at controlling oil on the eyelids and applies smoothly.
