This is an item I've been using for a long time. Even beginners can easily sketch their brows with it. It seems to smudge a bit easily. The line tends to crease on the eyelids. - ki***********Oily SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsRednessRecommendedApr 2, 2025
Product: TONYMOLY Back Gel Eyeliner Brown Pros: The brush isn't thin like typical eyeliner brushes, but rather thick and stubby like a lip brush. I thought this might make it hard to apply, but surprisingly it creates a beautiful thick line with a perfect tail. No need to touch up with a cotton swab, which is great. The color payoff is incredibly smooth, more than I expected. The staying power is decent for everyday use, but since it's not waterproof, it can smudge a bit when in contact with water. The longevity is slightly weak, and if you don't set it with powder, it may smudge after a while. - ek***Normal SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 22, 2025
Tony Moly Backstage Gel Eyeliner Review A budget-friendly gem perfect for gel liner newbies! The creamy texture glides on smoothly, and once set, it stays put without smudging. The built-in brush means no need to pack an extra tool. With a range of shades, you can create looks from natural everyday to bold and dramatic. Just keep in mind that residue can build up on the brush over time, and the gel may dry out if the cap isn't tightly closed. Star Rating: Pros: ✅ Applies smoothly and lasts long once set ✅ Great value for a daily-use gel eyeliner ✅ Built-in brush for convenience ✅ Variety of colors for different looks Cons: ⚠️ Product may clump if brush isn't cleaned regularly ⚠️ Gel can dry out quickly if cap isn't sealed properly ⚠️ May smudge on oily eyelids without primer or powder Room for Improvement: • Slight smudging possible on oily lids over time. Use primer or powder to improve longevity! • Gel format may be less convenient than pencil for quick application • Requires tight cap closure after use to prevent drying. Clean brush after use for crisp lines. Pro Tips: 💙 For more vibrant, long-lasting color → Apply gel liner, then set with dark eyeshadow 💙 For a natural look → Use brush to fill in between lashes 💙 For precise winged liner → Apply thin layers with minimal product on brush to reduce mistakes - dg********Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 20, 2024
I finally understand why everyone raves about the Tony Moly Back Gel Eyeliner... It's absolutely amazing! I usually use Clio Sharpsoo and Kiss Me brush pen liners, but this one feels like it combines the best of both worlds - the pigmentation of a pencil with the precision of a brush pen. 1️⃣ No smudging whatsoever 2️⃣ The tip is thin and just right for easy application 3️⃣ Zero irritation 4️⃣ Great value for money The eye photo I've attached was taken 8 hours after application! Compared to other pencil and brush pen liners on the market, it's a bit bulky, so not as portable as I'd like! Pro tip: Adjust the amount on the cap for even better results - ma**********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 13, 2024
I've tried both the black and brown colors, and I can confidently say that the brown shade looks more natural and beautiful. It's a bit disappointing that the brush hardens quickly if you don't clean it right away after use. - pa********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 2, 2024
I bought this product because I've used it before. It's easy to apply eyeliner with, so I'm using it well. I recommend it for makeup beginners. The color looks natural, and since it comes in a large quantity, one purchase lasts for a really long time. There's a brush attached, but I'm using a different brush. The staying power is a bit lacking, I must say. I tried buying a brush pen type as well, but I ended up coming back to this product. It's just unbeatable when it comes to ease of application. Lightly setting it with eyeshadow seems to improve its longevity. I believe they used to sell refills for this in the past, but sadly not anymore. - sk********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 16, 2024
This is my go-to product! Great value for money and lasts a long time. The color payoff is excellent, and it glides on smoothly for a precise line. It's less likely to smudge compared to pencil eyeliners. There's nothing to complain about. I'll keep using this as long as it doesn't get discontinued. - gy******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 13, 2024
It glides on so smoothly, making application a breeze. I used this when I was younger and recently came back to it after a long time. It's still just as great as I remember! The eyeliner brush that comes with it applies the product a bit too thickly for my liking, which is somewhat disappointing. - tm*********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 28, 2024
I bought this again because I remembered liking it a few years ago. It's easier to apply than other brush pens or pencils, and it creates a beautifully natural line. It tends to smudge a bit and the staying power isn't particularly impressive. - so******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 18, 2024
I remembered using this a few years ago, so I decided to try it again. It's just as I remember - it doesn't seem to come off easily! It smudges a bit and clumps when applying, which is disappointing. If you're looking for a natural makeup look, I recommend the brown shade.
