It's the perfect lipstick for creating a sophisticated look without appearing too deeply brown. I'm on my 4th tube of this color! Those who dislike very matte finishes might find this difficult to use Apply a light, moisturizing lipstick first and then blend for a beautiful gradient effect - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAug 24, 2020
Color: It's a deep brick red. When applied heavily, it turns into a muted red-brown, but when lightly smudged, it creates a beautifully enigmatic look. It has a rose-chili-brown vibe. The color is absolutely gorgeous! Staying power: I was surprised by how long-lasting this lipstick is. After wearing it for about 4 hours, it was still almost intact. Of course, it will come off if you eat a proper meal. Application: The texture is a bit stiff, which is disappointing. When your lips are in good condition, it glides on smoothly, but if there are any dead skin cells, it becomes patchy and difficult to apply. Accentuates flakiness: Perhaps due to its stiff texture, it tends to highlight dead skin cells. You need to exfoliate your lips every time before use. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinMay 25, 2020
This color is absolutely stunning for those with deep autumn complexions! The shade is even more sophisticated than the Clio Cinnamon Deep color I reviewed in my previous post. It's also a gochujang brick brown, with a ratio of about 3 parts red : 5 parts brown : 1 part sophistication : 1 part intrigue. The color is so refined, I've never seen anything quite this beautiful before. The case is sleek and modern, which adds to its appeal. A signature 3CE touch is that the case color matches the lipstick shade perfectly. The adherence is surprisingly good! I thought it might be patchy due to its firmness, but it seems this is just another clever trick from 3CE. Despite the initial stiffness, it adheres well to the lips without any patchiness. The color payoff is true to the shade and absolutely gorgeous! Since it's quite pigmented, I recommend applying it with light, tapping motions for the most flattering result. The application has that signature 3CE lipstick stiffness... It does feel a bit more rigid compared to other lipsticks, which can be a slight drawback. Be sure to exfoliate, as it may accentuate dead skin cells. - Hwahae UserDry SkinNov 15, 2019
I love the brick color - it's exactly the shade I've been looking for. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't prep my lips properly, but even after applying lip balm and lipstick, the color sometimes settles into the cracks of my lips, emphasizing fine lines. It's really frustrating - is there any way to prevent this? It's best to apply lip balm before putting on lipstick. That's why I always carry a lip balm with me. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJul 2, 2019
It has a lovely red-brown hue that's both beautiful and versatile, making me reach for it often. I think this product would be perfect for those with warm autumn skin tones - it's bound to complement your complexion beautifully. The application isn't as smooth as I'd like, and it tends to fade rather quickly, which is a bit disappointing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 21, 2019
As someone with an autumn warm skin tone, I can confidently recommend this as the best matte MLBB (My Lips But Better) color. It's a reddish-brown that applies beautifully. The shade is neither too light nor too dark, striking a perfect balance between subtle and vibrant red. The staying power is impressive without staining, which is a big plus. The sleek case design is an added bonus, making it a pleasure to carry around. True to its matte nature, it's quite dry. The application can be a bit challenging due to its thick consistency, even during the initial application. I prefer applying it as an accent color or with a powder finish rather than as a full lip. While a full lip application looks nice, I find it truly stunning when mixed with other colors or set with powder. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 6, 2019
First of all, the color is absolutely gorgeous!!! I was looking for a dark shade with brown undertones, and this is perfect!!! Highly recommended for those with warm skin tones. It can be a bit drying, so it's best to use it with a lip balm. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 3, 2019
As someone with a strong warm undertone, I adore MLBB brown shades. I used this up completely without ever feeling the need to declutter it. I'm definitely tempted to repurchase! The matte finish tends to accentuate dead skin cells. If you have any flaky areas and apply this, those spots can appear slightly darker. It works great when applied over a thin layer of lip balm. Also, it's fantastic when mixed with other lip products! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 27, 2019
I usually prefer lip products with a brownish-red tone, and 'Smoked Rose' was exactly the color I've been looking for. It's not a bright red, but rather a soft, slightly darker brownish-red. I don't like using vibrant reds as they can make my appearance too intense and my makeup look heavy. This product, however, isn't flashy at all and seems perfect for autumn wear. Compared to tints, lipsticks tend to accentuate dead skin cells more noticeably. Since this product is extremely matte, it seems to highlight flaky skin even more. My routine involves exfoliating my lips while showering, then generously applying lip balm before starting my face makeup. After finishing my face makeup, I completely remove the lip balm and then apply the lipstick. This method helps prevent flaking and ensures smooth application! - Hwahae UserDry SkinDec 2, 2018
I've been using this shade for a year now, and I'm still savoring it. There's no prettier warm-toned red-brown out there (well, maybe except for 3CE's Taupe). It stains beautifully, leaving a perfect tint. I usually love trying new products and rarely buy the same thing twice, but this one? I'm definitely considering a repurchase. Sure, matte finishes are beautiful and trendy, and I really like them too. However, this product can be quite drying. For the best look, you'll need to do some serious lip care (at least use a lip balm) the night before. If you wear it two days in a row, it might start to flake a bit. It's a bit too vibrant for a full lip look, but I find it looks gorgeous when applied over a more nude shade like Peripera's Ink Velvet.
