A few years ago, when my facial skin started to act up, causing itching, dead skin cells, and tiny blemishes, I discovered this product from Sidmool during my struggle. With consistent use, my skin seemed to calm down, and I found myself forgetting about all those skin concerns that used to keep me staring in the mirror. I've relied on it year-round, but it's especially helpful in summer. When my skin improved, I tried other skincare products carelessly, but this year when my skin flared up again, I suddenly remembered this one. After ordering and using it again, I regret ever forgetting about it. While I use various products depending on my skin condition, this is definitely one I shouldn't forget. It can pill if not fully absorbed. Applying too much before makeup can cause pilling. It might feel dry if used alone. Even for oily skin, using it alone can lead to dryness later, so I make sure it's fully absorbed and follow with a moisturizer. I apply a thin layer in the morning and a bit more in the evening. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 22, 2024
This is my go-to essential that makes me anxious when it's running low... It's excellent for those who often experience skin redness. About 30 minutes after application, you'll notice a visible calming effect on your complexion. Be careful not to apply too much, as it may cause pilling. For morning makeup routines, use only a small amount. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 21, 2020
First off, my skin type is thin, extremely sensitive, and slightly dry. I'm always apprehensive about trying new cosmetics because my skin is so reactive. I absolutely must check the ingredients before using any product. Despite my age, I have very few wrinkles or visible pores, and my complexion is just a tad lighter than the typical Korean skin tone. I don't wear any eye makeup at all, relying solely on sunscreen and cushion foundation to even out my skin tone. I'm not a fan of heavy makeup. Recently, I've been dealing with some blemishes, and this product has been working well for me. I'm using it as an essence, and it's performing adequately. I appreciate the ingredients, and the generous volume is a plus. If you apply it too thickly, any subsequent makeup tends to pill. It's crucial to apply a thin layer and allow it to absorb thoroughly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 20, 2019
It didn't cause any more blemishes! It also provided some soothing effect, and it felt like it was mostly hydrating without much oiliness. I'd recommend this for oily, blemish-prone skin. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I felt a bit of dryness under my eyes and on my cheeks! Of course, it was perfect when I only used basic skincare, but I felt it wasn't enough when I went out since sunscreen and foundation are a must for me. I'm not sure if it didn't work well with the hyaluronic acid toner I was using or if it just didn't pair well with my sunscreen, but it kept pilling like crazy when I applied makeup, which was really frustrating. Was it the magical collaboration of hyaluronic acid + gel-type cream + mineral sunscreen? The product itself was good, but I struggled a lot due to its compatibility with other products I was using at the time. For combination dehydrated skin, it might be good to use this along with a hydrating ampoule or a product that adds some richness to dry areas! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 15, 2019
I bought this when my face was really struggling with acne, excess oil, and dead skin cells. While I didn't see dramatic results, it did help calm my skin somewhat. The best part was that it didn't cause any additional blemishes. It tends to pill if you apply too much, so I prefer to use it generously only at night. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSep 3, 2019
Storing it in the fridge gives it a cooling effect that seems to help soothe the skin. It pills easily. If you apply just a little, your skin quickly becomes dry due to the pilling. This makes me not want to use it. Also, I'm not sure if it really has any effect on fading blemishes. Use it after keeping it cool for best results. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 9, 2019
Great value for money with a generous amount, long-lasting hydration, and excellent soothing effects. I have combination dehydrated skin prone to blemishes and occasionally get extractions. After an extraction, I apply a generous amount of this Centella Essential before bed, and by morning, the redness has significantly reduced. True to Sidmool's reputation, the ingredients are top-notch. Unlike similar formulas that provide instant cooling but quickly dry out and leave skin feeling parched, this one maintains its hydrating effect for quite some time. The sticky texture might be a dealbreaker for those who dislike that feeling. Be cautious when applying in the morning before makeup - using even slightly too much can cause pilling... it pills like crazy. For pre-makeup application, use only a tiny amount. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJan 7, 2019
This is absolutely amazing! Words can't do it justice. I've been using it for 3 years, and I've never seen anything that provides such intense hydration. Last year, I neglected my skincare for 5 months due to studying, and by December my skin was a complete mess. But after using this for just a month and a half, my skin is returning to its former glory! My blemishes have almost disappeared, with only some pigmentation remaining. (I tried a sample from another brand the day before yesterday and my skin went crazy, but it's back to normal now!) Well... if you use too much, it can pill. You need to apply just the right amount before makeup. If you slather it on like you would at night, it's a disaster party. It really comes out in excess, so be careful! Before bed, squeeze out a generous amount and massage it into your face like you're doing a mask. Really work it in until your skin feels plump and saturated. Then apply a thin layer of your usual night cream on top. When you wake up, you'll feel a moisture barrier on your skin when you wash your face. Your complexion will look great too! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 4, 2018
It's gentle and easy to use. I'm on my second bottle now. You can mix in a drop of oil for added benefits. Adding a bit of tea tree oil gives a nice cooling effect. There's nothing particularly disappointing about it. Maybe just a bit of pilling when applying other skincare products afterwards? Feel free to mix in a drop of oil when applying. I recommend tea tree oil for best results. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 29, 2018
I suddenly had a breakout of pustular acne on my chin and cheeks, leaving many red marks. I applied this generously like a sleeping pack for a few evenings, and the redness significantly faded! Now, whenever my skin looks like it's about to flare up, I slather this on! Since aloe doesn't agree with my skin, I keep this Centella Essential on hand as an emergency treatment and use it liberally. If you apply too much, it can pill like dead skin cells. Other than that, I don't think there are any other drawbacks.
