The best thing about this cushion is the color. It's exactly the shade I've been looking for. Compared to other cushions I consider to have a pink base - like the Chaud Instant Cushion, Season by Season Cushion, Blanc et Diva Cushion, CLIO Vegan Serum Cushion, and rom&nd Nu Zero Cushion - this one has an even more authentic pink undertone. It's a true pink base without any hint of yellow, gray, white, or ivory. I can't emphasize enough how much I love the color - it's the main reason I bought this cushion. Secondly, the cushion case is fantastic. Its square shape with a pink top is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, the downsides are more significant. One of my key criteria for cushions is the ingredients list. I usually only use products with four or fewer allergens and caution ingredients combined, but this one has eight - double my limit. Next is the fragrance. I consider scent important, and I had heard it was divisive in reviews. They weren't wrong. It has a very strong herbal scent that I find a bit off-putting. I wish it were more subtle. Thirdly, the texture isn't quite right for me. It's neither dewy nor matte, but somewhere in between - a semi-glow finish. As someone who prefers a more hydrating formula, this is disappointing. Given that ingredients, fragrance, and texture are all major factors for me, and they all fall short here, I won't be repurchasing despite loving the color and case design. I'd only consider buying it again if they improved these three aspects while keeping the color the same. That's why I've deducted three stars and given it a two-star rating. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 11, 2022
The case design is absolutely my style! It's so hydrating and the adherence is outstanding. The pink base gives a radiant look. Usually, moisturizing cushions tend to have poor staying power, but this one's longevity is perfect! It's a bit large to carry in a mini bag, but I still make sure to bring it along because it's so beautiful. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 24, 2021
When I first saw it, the angular case with its sleek brand logo was incredibly attractive. The design is truly eye-catching at first glance. The cushion inside had a firm texture. The protective film inside had an interesting twist-off mechanism, which was honestly quite fun to open. After applying it for the first time, I noticed that despite my yellowish skin tone, it gave me a pinkish glow that instantly brightened my complexion. I was concerned about its longevity since I heard it might lack coverage due to its moisturizing properties. However, while it felt hydrating at first, it gradually set to a matte finish, providing impressive staying power. Even after going out at 11 AM and returning around 5-6 PM, there was no noticeable breakdown. With masks being essential these days, it barely transferred onto the mask. Although I was worried about blemishes due to some potentially problematic ingredients listed on Hwahae, my skin was fine even after 6-7 hours of wear. It performed well in photos too. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I initially thought it was fine when it felt moisturizing. However, as time passed and it became more matte, I realized it might be challenging for those with dry skin. Also, if you don't properly hydrate your face beforehand, it might not last as long. Since we wear masks, you tend to smell your makeup, and this has a slightly headache-inducing scent - it's subtle but somewhat strong. I wish the fragrance was less noticeable. The firm cushion made it a bit difficult to cover detailed areas like around the nose. While the firm cushion does allow for buildable coverage, it's not ideal for precise application. Even with a light touch, quite a bit of product comes out, so I'd recommend pressing very gently to get just the right amount. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinDec 24, 2021
Design First off, the cushion design is absolutely gorgeous! The angular case is unique and totally won me over. Radiance and Hydration I love a bright, radiant look, so I went for shade 21. With its pink base, it gives a luminous complexion while adhering to the skin with a dewy finish. In winter, I tend to reach for cushions like the Aqua Skin Fit that apply smoothly and offer a glossy finish, rather than matte foundations. It's perfect for use in this cold weather without causing any dryness. Design It's both a pro and a con. Compared to round cushions, it takes up more space, making it a bit too large for my everyday makeup pouch. Shade and Oxidation Shade 21 is whiter than expected, and applying too much can make it look cakey, so controlling the amount is crucial. Also, while it starts off with a pretty pink tone, it oxidizes to an ashy color over time. Coverage and Longevity The coverage is somewhat lacking. This seems unavoidable with hydrating foundations. If you want to conceal blemishes or dark spots, a concealer is a must. Due to the low coverage, the longevity suffers as well. By evening, it's almost half worn off. Transfer to Mask It tends to transfer onto masks quite easily. Setting powder is essential as the final step in your makeup routine. For best results, carefully conceal any blemishes or dark spots with a concealer, then apply a thin layer of the cushion, and finish with a setting powder. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinDec 24, 2021
True to its name 'Aqua Fit', this product was wonderfully hydrating, both during and after application. It left a subtle glow that gave my skin a luxurious look. The color is a pink-based ivory that brightens the complexion beautifully. I usually use Clio's luminous cushion, and this one has a slightly more matte pink-beige tone, which I didn't mind. There was hardly any darkening or pore emphasis afterwards, making it a perfect match for my skin. The coverage isn't very strong, so it might not suit those needing more concealment. Also, I found it uniquely challenging to control the amount of product. Applying too much resulted in an oddly matte appearance, and the product itself felt a bit heavy on the skin, making makeup application tricky. However, despite the matte look, it doesn't feel drying. The surface may appear matte, but underneath, the skin feels hydrated. It's best to minimize your base makeup with this product! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinDec 24, 2021
It seems to conceal blemishes well, and since my face tends to be a bit yellow-toned, the slight pinkish tint helps balance out the yellowness when applied. The case design is also really pretty. I personally liked the unique scent, though it might be a matter of personal preference. Surprisingly, it covered imperfections better than I expected. I thought it would have an aqua texture, but it was less hydrating than I anticipated, which was a bit disappointing. When I first used this product without much skincare prep, it didn't seem to absorb well and felt like it was sitting on top of my skin. I recommend applying a thorough skincare routine first, then gently patting on a thin layer of this product. - Hwahae UserDry SkinDec 24, 2021
I received this as part of The Hwahae Testers program, but I'll be honest in my review. I'd like to give it 3.5 stars, but since that's not an option, I'm going with 4. For context, I have huge pores, dry skin, and I'm a winter cool tone. Color: The pink undertone of this foundation gives a radiant look. If you don't have visible pores or blemishes, you'll likely love how lightweight it feels. Compared to my Estée Lauder Futurist in Porcelain, this one appears a bit brighter. Hydration: It's moisturizing and doesn't cause any tightness. Adherence: Although it's a cushion, the brush works better. I recommend applying with the brush first, then patting with the puff. If done correctly, you'll get a beautiful glow. However, if you dip too much and pat heavily, it can emphasize pores. It might have a tendency to slide around. The coverage is a bit lacking. It's so sheer that even freckles slightly show through. Being a hydrating foundation, it doesn't feel heavy, but the trade-off is less coverage. Pore coverage: Even after applying Benefit's primer, it doesn't completely conceal pores. It seems a matte foundation might be necessary for perfect pore coverage. If you don't control the amount well, you might end up looking like volcanic rock. Even with primer, the foundation can sink into pores, making them more noticeable. However, with proper application, you can achieve a light, translucent makeup look. I'd recommend this for light makeup in the current mask-wearing situation, especially in dry and cold weather. Use the brush! Brush against the direction of peach fuzz, then finish with the puff. Pore-conscious folks, remember: avoid using just the puff. The last photo with the purple outfit shows how it looks after 4 hours of wear without touch-ups. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinDec 23, 2021
Rosy brightening effect My skin usually has a yellow undertone, but this cushion instantly brightened it up. It especially counteracted the yellow tones well. When I applied it to just one side and took a before and after photo, the difference was striking. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to make their skin look radiant. It's perfect for daily use when a brightening moisturizer alone isn't enough, but a full-coverage cushion or foundation feels too heavy! Blackhead coverage & natural-looking finish It smoothly covered the blackheads around my nose area. It doesn't emphasize texture much, which is great. While it doesn't completely hide blemishes, it provides a natural coverage that allows your skin to show through slightly. Personally, I prefer this to heavy coverage that completely masks my natural skin. Hydrating While it doesn't give a dewy finish, it keeps the skin surface moisturized. I recommend this for combination to normal-dry skin types who want hydration without an overly glossy look. Lack of dewy finish Despite being called 'Aqua', it didn't maintain as much of a dewy glow as I expected. This was especially noticeable to me as I usually prefer more hydrating cushions over matte types. Longevity As it's a hydrating cushion, its staying power isn't as strong as matte types. It also tends to transfer onto masks, so you'll need to set it well with powder. Cushion size and weight This was my first time using a square-shaped cushion, and it feels a bit heavy, probably due to the extra space. I personally prefer round shapes, so I'm less likely to carry this for touch-ups when I'm out. >>Recommended for: Those who thoroughly moisturize their skin beforehand - this cushion will maintain that hydration while brightening your complexion. Those who are comfortable using brightening moisturizers or cushions, or those concerned about yellow undertones - the pink-toned cushion will make your skin look radiant and pretty! Those looking for natural coverage - this cushion is perfect for you! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinDec 23, 2021
After using it consistently for about 3 days, I'm sharing my thoughts. The pink base cushion holds a lot of product in its holes, so one dab is enough to cover your whole face, which is great. The pink base makes your face look radiant, and it gives a nice glow. Usually, this type of base tends to transfer onto masks, but surprisingly, it didn't transfer much and had good staying power. The case itself seems to capture the essence of Harper's Bazaar magazine, giving it a chic vibe. This is the most disappointing and puzzling aspect for me. While cushion compacts are sometimes used as foundation alternatives these days, portability is still crucial. However, this one is too thick and angular, making it feel like it's only suitable for home use. I wonder why they chose this case design when there are so many other options available. Also, the scent is overpowering. It's too powdery, which seems unnecessary in these times when we're constantly wearing masks. I wish they had toned down the fragrance. The more you pat it in, the more it enhances your Inner Glow. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinDec 23, 2021
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. My skin type is combination to dry. I usually use shade 21, but if it's a darker 21, I'll opt for a lighter shade if available. First off, the product packaging is really pretty. It's a simple design in a rectangular case. While it does show some fingerprints, it's not too noticeable due to the light color of the case. The product color is on the lighter side for a shade 21. It has a pink base, so those who prefer a bright, pink-toned complexion will likely enjoy this color. After exfoliating and applying a thorough skincare routine, it initially feels light and moisturizing. Once it sets, it transforms to a powder-like finish. Thanks to this, there's no sticky feeling. Even with multiple layers, it doesn't feel heavy. As a result, it doesn't transfer much when wearing a mask. Perfect for the current situation, right? However, despite its non-transferring quality, there wasn't much else about this product that impressed me. If I skip exfoliation or skimp on my skincare routine, it clings to dead skin cells on my dry skin. You can see it sort of beading up in places. Of course, you could always do a thorough skincare routine, but even with the slightest dip in skin condition, the flakiness becomes visible. My previous cushion didn't have this issue, so this was a significant drawback for me. This flaw overshadows the advantage of not transferring to masks.
