First off, I have acne-prone combination dehydrated skin! Let me break this down for you: Who should buy this? 1. Those with severe facial redness 2. People with uneven skin tone due to acne scars 3. Anyone looking for a foundation-free option that applies like sunscreen If you fit any of these, this product is for you! I tick all three boxes, so I bought it right away. It was actually recommended to me, and it's that good... (As you can see from the photo, it's well-used. I use it daily!) 1. No need for foundation, just apply like sunscreen. What makes this better than foundation is how incredibly well it neutralizes redness. Your skin looks fairer. After applying this, my friends said I looked unusually pure that day (true story!). I'm obsessed with sun protection, so I apply sunscreen and then this on top. Makes cleansing a bit of a challenge though! 2. You need to control the amount well. If you apply too much, it can look like stage makeup. I'd suggest half a pump for each cheek/forehead area, and one pump for nose and chin. Use a full pump if you want more coverage. 3. It's really good... I've been using it almost daily on weekdays since I bought it (July 10, 2024), and there's still plenty left. Feel free to use it generously! 1. If you apply without exfoliating, it can look flaky. My skin is prone to this, but it really emphasizes dead skin cells. 2. Even with exfoliation... maybe I'm not good at controlling the amount, but after about 8 hours, it tends to separate. Try applying less or make sure you have a solid skincare base. 3. It feels a bit drying. I have oily skin and still feel this way, so those with dry skin might find it quite drying. To really make the most of this, it's best to apply it as a first layer of tone correction before foundation! I usually just wear this alone because I'm too lazy for full makeup, but I'll update my review after trying it with foundation later. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 18, 2024
Compared to other brands' brightening moisturizers with SPF, this one offers decent coverage. I've been mixing it with another sunscreen for a foundation-free look. As you blend it into your skin, the capsules in the cream burst, transforming into a green-beige color. I love that it doesn't make you look like a green monster, but instead gives a natural finish. Best of all, even though I have super sensitive skin, it didn't cause any irritation. The longevity is weak, and it doesn't wear off gracefully. Instead, it tends to clump and break down. When I'm out for long periods, I have to use a puff with a hydrating sunscreen to wipe it off and reapply. Also, while it felt fine during application, it sets quickly, causing the brightening moisturizer to cling to and emphasize areas with blemishes. This happened even with a thorough skincare routine. It might work well for those with redness, but I wouldn't recommend it for people with lots of blemishes or dry skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJan 9, 2024
As someone with an extremely red face (my husband always teases me, calling me 'Bol-Bbalgan Sachungi'), this product alone provides almost perfect coverage. I wasn't planning to buy it, but when I saw it as a 3-hour special at Lotte Duty Free, I grabbed it (I couldn't apply for duty-free items earlier because I was so busy with two kids). I'm very satisfied with how well it covers redness. Just applying this and some lip color, and my makeup is complete! With my dry, sensitive skin prone to small bumps, when I apply it with my fingers, it pills and doesn't adhere well. If you have smooth skin without dryness and only redness, it might work well for you... I'm going to try applying it with a puff. While it has good functions, it doesn't adhere well to the skin. Also, the texture feels a bit sticky when applying. I'm not sure about its soothing effects... but at least it doesn't seem to make things worse. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 6, 2023
It's great that you can cover a large area with just a small amount, and the tube packaging is hygienic. It does an excellent job of reducing redness, making it perfect to use as a sunscreen substitute before applying cushion foundation. There's a slight transfer issue, and the adherence to the skin could be a bit better. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinOct 6, 2023
It definitely covers redness well, and with the sunscreen base mixed in, on days when I'm too lazy to do a full makeup routine, applying just this gives a really clean brightening effect and evens my skin tone perfectly. For those with dry skin, if you don't have a solid skincare base, it might not sit well. Also, if you apply too much, it can ball up and clump around the sides of the nose and chin. You need to apply it thinly and make sure to blend it well to cover pores effectively. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 3, 2023
I could use this without any issues on my blemish-prone skin with severe redness and many dark spots. Usually, when I only wear sunscreen, I'm self-conscious about my redness and red blemishes, but I found it too bothersome to do a full face of makeup. This product is a game-changer! It looks like bare skin while evening out my complexion and covering redness to some extent - I love it! Normally, when I take photos in bright sunlight, my T-zone appears bright red, but with this on, it looks white instead of red, which is great. The only downside is that after several days of consistent performance, today it wore off, revealing all my redness. Apart from that, it's great for everyday use. For those without major blemishes, this product paired with a light lip tint is perfect for a no-makeup look when going out. Like other reviews mentioned, it can sometimes look flaky due to dryness. Even after applying skincare, a hydrating sunscreen, and a thin layer of this brightening moisturizer, it occasionally flakes. If you have dry skin, be careful when using this over a mineral sunscreen - your face can become extremely dry! Even for oily skin types, it's better to apply this over a moisturizing sunscreen or emulsion to reduce dryness. I have fair skin, so applying a thin layer with a sponge only brightened my complexion by about one shade, which was perfect for me. However, for those with darker skin tones, it might make your skin look much lighter. If you apply this over a sunscreen that leaves a white cast, your face will look noticeably pale and floating! While some people apply it with their hands, I found it a bit thick and the heat from my hands actually increased my redness, so I prefer using a sponge to spread it thinly. This method makes it easier to apply and gives a better result. Also, in fall and winter, it can look very flaky, so mix a drop or two of serum into your cream and apply with a damp beauty sponge. This will keep your skin hydrated! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinMay 3, 2023
My redness was usually so severe that even with makeup, my skin looked patchy. But using this as a base layer has really helped! It tends to cling to areas with dead skin cells and feels a bit drying. It also settles into the creases around my nose. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinApr 5, 2023
As someone with severe redness, I found this product amazing! I could even go to school wearing just this, without any cushion foundation! I'm not sure if I applied it incorrectly or if my skin was just having a bad day, but it pilled a little. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 15, 2023
- For a brightening moisturizer, it covers redness exceptionally well - The pump dispenser allows for clean and easy application - Initially felt a bit thick when applying, but over time it became drying and visible flaking was noticeable - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 11, 2022
✓ Tames redness My skin usually has a constant reddish tint, but the green tone in this product completely neutralizes it. ✓ Covers small blemishes Though I have some blemishes, I prefer light coverage as I dislike thick layers. This product provides satisfying coverage without needing concealer! ✓ Brightens complexion Unlike other foundation-free products with limited shade options that often turn dark quickly, this one gives me a perfect radiant look and barely oxidizes. ✓ Non-greasy, matte finish Its non-sticky, powder-like finish makes wearing a mask more comfortable. ✓ Graceful wear-off While foundation or cushions tend to smudge messily under masks due to friction and heat, this product's thin base layer wears off more cleanly and neatly. As this isn't a hydrating product, it can really flake if your skincare isn't thorough! It might be especially challenging for those with dry skin. Make sure to build up your base carefully, layer by layer.
