I bought this to apply lightly when going to school. I'm satisfied with the good ingredients and the fact that I got a large amount at a reasonable price. The coverage isn't as good as I expected. Also, since I have extremely oily skin, it felt too rich for me. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSep 21, 2023
My skin type is combination dehydrated, slightly sensitive, and prone to blemishes. I used to get breakouts when wearing foundation due to my acne-prone skin. So I switched to BB creams, but when my go-to one was discontinued, I searched for a replacement. I chose this product because the ingredients and shade seemed suitable. It applies smoothly and adheres well when using a puff. However, it's slightly rich, so it tends to break down over time. As typical with BB creams, this breakdown isn't particularly flattering. I have fair skin with a deep undertone, around shade 13, so the BB cream color was crucial for me. While not extremely light as BB creams go, I chose this for its ivory tone rather than a grayish beige. The coverage is medium to low. It seems to cover well initially, but fades quickly. It tends to wear off and break down easily. I haven't experienced any blemishes from using this product. I just apply this when I'm feeling lazy about doing a full face of makeup for work or when I want something less heavy. The way it breaks down isn't very attractive, and it wears off easily. It might feel a bit rich for those with oily skin. Occasionally, I mix it with a matte foundation to improve its longevity. This works well on days when I need my makeup to last longer! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinMay 27, 2023
It's moisturizing and seems to give quite a nice finish to my skin. I think I'll keep using it in the future. After a while, oil starts to come through. The amount of oil is no joke - you'd need a lot of blotting papers! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 8, 2023
I was impressed with the staying power and color. It's also great value for money compared to other products! When applying, you can feel a certain oiliness in the product itself. It's a bit annoying to spread it thinly and evenly. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinNov 4, 2022
It's moisturizing and gives a nice skin finish. I've used it well for a week. After a while, it gets too oily... Maybe because I have oily skin, but the oil blotting papers are working overtime! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 27, 2022
▫️It applies like a brightening moisturizer with SPF. The texture is just right - neither too thick nor too runny, similar to a typical tone-up sunscreen. ▫️The coverage is surprisingly good. While it doesn't conceal blemishes like a concealer would, it effectively neutralizes redness and evens out the skin tone. ▫️It doesn't cake up or cling to dead skin cells. Of course, if your skin is very dry or flaky, you might experience some pilling, but the product itself doesn't exacerbate these issues. ▫️It's great for applying with your hands. I've tried using both a puff and my fingers, but I found that using my hands allows the warmth to help the product melt into my skin for a beautiful finish. The skin looks prettier when applied with hands rather than tools. ▫️It doesn't have that typical ashy or pink undertone often found in brightening products. It's a true beige that adheres to the skin without looking chalky, giving a slightly brighter complexion that matches your natural skin tone. ▫️It's perfect as a foundation-free product for everyday use. ▫️As someone with combination dehydrated and blemish-prone skin, I noticed some shine developing in the afternoon. While it doesn't completely wear off, there's noticeable fading and oiliness, especially in the T-zone and cheek areas where the mask touches. ▫️Looking at the ingredients, I found some that could potentially clog pores. Be cautious as these ingredients might easily trigger blemishes. (I've developed some small bumps, but I'm not sure if it's due to this product or just my skin condition.) ▫️The UV protection factor is low, so make sure to use sunscreen underneath this product. If you have oily skin, lightly dust some powder on your T-zone. Instead of using tools like puffs or brushes, apply with your hands and gently pat to finish. Mask transfer is... well, just okay! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinOct 27, 2022
🔍Shade 21 Warm Tone + Dry Skin Fragrance: Almost fragrance-free, so those sensitive to scents shouldn't worry. Minimal Darkening: I often use brightening moisturizers for quick outings. Unlike other products that darken significantly after a few hours and need touch-ups, this one maintains its color beautifully. Natural Look: It brightens the complexion by one shade, applies naturally, and seems to improve skin texture. Perfect for short trips out! Texture: Neither too runny nor too heavy, it applies quickly and easily. Sun Protection: While it does offer some sun protection compared to other products, the SPF is quite low. You'll need to apply additional sunscreen in summer, which is disappointing. Not for Oily Skin: It leaves a slightly oily finish, so I wouldn't recommend it for those with oily skin. Around the Nose: When applying hurriedly with fingers, it can cake up around the nose. Even if you're in a rush, it's better to use a puff. Puff works better than fingers! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 26, 2022
I discovered Papa Recipe through their Spring Rain Honey Pot mask pack and was so satisfied that I decided to participate in this Hwahae Testers review. My skin is combination dehydrated - oily in the T-zone and dry in the U-zone. Here's what I experienced with this product: It feels moisturizing when applied but finishes with a soft, matte feel. Instead of leaving a white cast, it brightens your natural complexion. It feels lighter than foundation. Provides decent coverage (it even covered some redness from my recent laser treatment). It can look patchy if you don't properly moisturize or if your skin is dry. Skin becomes slightly oily as time passes. Overall impression: I usually use brightening moisturizers with SPF, but I dislike how they often turn grayish over time. This product doesn't seem to darken much, and I loved how it gave me a natural, radiant look initially. However, I was disappointed that it became patchy on dry areas. I'll try using it again after strengthening my skincare routine. It's best to use this product after thoroughly moisturizing your skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 24, 2022
I usually only wear brightening moisturizer with SPF. This product seemed to enhance my skin texture and even out my complexion more naturally than products focused solely on sun protection. While it didn't completely cover my acne, scars, and blemishes (I have quite a lot), I don't usually go for full coverage anyway, so I didn't mind. At first, it seemed a bit white, but after letting it absorb and giving it some time, it provided a nice brightening effect. I think it could work well for various skin tones. I feel the SPF in this product alone isn't sufficient. I'm used to using SPF 50+ products, so that might be why. Because of this, I had to apply sunscreen separately before using this, which made my skin feel a bit heavy. Also, I noticed my skin became oily faster than usual. When I checked my face after arriving at work, there was an unattractive oily sheen, which was the most disappointing aspect. Additionally, it transferred onto my mask more than my usual brightening moisturizer with SPF. One of the main reasons I went foundation-free since COVID was to avoid transfer and makeup breakdown, so I wasn't very satisfied with this aspect. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 21, 2022
First off, the absorption was pretty good, and I thought it wouldn't have any coverage, but I actually found the coverage to be quite decent! It seems to cover about 60% of acne pigmentation and redness. Of course, it might be difficult to conceal deep scars or active blemishes, but honestly, I'm grateful it works this well... For darker spots, using a separate concealer would be a good idea. I think I'll use this a lot instead of foundation. It's really hard to find a product with good ingredients that also provides coverage, so I'm glad I found this one... I definitely intend to repurchase. I usually use shades from 17 to light 21, and the color matched well. The photo I took shows me wearing only this product. Since I've just started using it, I'll need to see about the longevity. I'll update on any disappointing aspects later. + After about 8 hours of wear, there was some inevitable rubbing off from the mask, but I noticed it tends to emphasize areas with dead skin cells. There's also a bit of creasing in areas prone to wrinkles, like around the nose and smile lines. Other than that, it's fine. Maybe because I used powder too, but there was no pilling or sliding due to excess oil. I recommend using a wedge sponge for application - it goes on thinly and evenly. Using your hands is not recommended! Also, setting it with powder helps with longevity. It's best to exfoliate well before use.
