When applying, there were two options, but since the sebum one seemed good for combination skin, I chose the Rice Clear Toner as I have dry skin. First off, the packaging is absolutely adorable. It has a person's face drawn on it, and the English phrases are super cute too. The expression 'rice for your skin' gives the impression that it's providing something good for your skin, making you want to apply more and more! While packaging isn't the most important aspect of a cosmetic product, I found it endearing and likeable. The container design is reminiscent of makgeolli - white and clear-looking. It doesn't have a separate lid; you can just click it open with one hand, which is surprisingly convenient. Texture and Scent: It's a water-based toner. It's great for both wiping with a cotton pad and applying directly. The scent seems to be unscented. Ingredients: It contains 77% rice bran water from Gochang and bamboo sap. It's vegan-certified with no artificial fragrances or colorants, and has non-irritating ingredients, which I appreciated. I have sensitive skin, but I didn't experience any blemishes during the 5 days I used it. Effects: I was really excited about this rice bran water toner, as I had experienced skin brightening effects from rice bran packs before. I can really feel my skin becoming clearer. Rice bran water must be good for brightening the complexion. Being a toner, the effects aren't dramatically visible, but after using it for a few days, I notice my face looks slightly brighter. Also, I heard bamboo sap helps with dead skin cells. Perhaps that's why I really don't feel as much dead skin as before. Even though I haven't exfoliated recently, my skin feels smoother when I wash my face. I feel like my skin texture is becoming more refined, and my skin is getting cleaner and better overall. It seems to be a pretty good toner.
ConsThere weren't any negatives, but if I had to mention something, it stung a bit when it got into my eyes. However, I think this might be the case with all cosmetics, so I'm not sure if this one is particularly worse.
TipI found that applying the toner once, patting it in, and then reapplying it two or three times seemed to enhance the brightening effect.
