When I applied, there were two options, and I chose the Rice Brightening Toner because it seemed good for combination skin like mine. First of all, the packaging is so cute! It has a face printed on it, and the English text is adorable too. The expression 'skin-eating rice' gives the impression that it's nourishing for the skin, and it makes me want to use more and see better results. Haha. While the packaging isn't the most important factor, it does give a warm, personal feeling. The white, clear bottle design reminds me of makgeolli. The cap doesn't come off separately, and you can just press it down with one hand, which is quite convenient. Texture and Scent It's a water-based toner. It's great for wiping it off with a cotton pad, and it also applies well directly on the skin. The scent seems to be unscented. Ingredients It contains 77% rice bran water from Gochang and bamboo sap. It's vegan, without artificial fragrances or colorants, and has non-irritating ingredients, which I liked. Even with my sensitive skin, I didn't experience any breakouts during the 5 days of use. Effects I've tried rice bran masks before and noticed my skin brightening, so I was really excited to try this rice bran water toner. I can definitely feel my skin becoming more radiant. Even though toners don't show dramatic results, I noticed my face looking a bit brighter and clearer after using it for a few days. And since bamboo sap is said to help with exfoliation, I actually feel like my skin texture has improved, and it feels smoother even without recent peeling. Overall, it seems like a great toner.
ConsThe only downside I noticed was that it stung a little when it got in my eyes, but I think that's the case with most skincare products, so I'm not sure if this one is particularly irritating in that regard.
TipI found that applying the toner a couple of times, patting it in, really helped the brightening effects show up more.
