The Moisture Surge Ampoule lives up to its name, providing a deeply hydrating and plumping effect that absorbs well into the skin. It's specially formulated for parched, dehydrated skin that seems to dry out no matter what you apply. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I struggled with makeup looking patchy, but after using this ampoule, I've significantly streamlined my skincare routine. After about a week of consistent use, I could feel the hydration being locked into my skin. The more you layer, the more it plumps up, and its light, runny texture makes it easy to apply. I'm satisfied with how quickly it absorbs, leaving no residue on my hands! While it's not a product with extraordinary effects or sensations, I feel its value for money could be better. The scent is close to fragrance-free, but there's a slightly artificial note to it. I must admit, when I first applied it, I had a moment of 'What is this?' However, I've gotten used to it now. I've found this ampoule particularly useful with my powdery, foundation-free sunscreen (which has distinct pros and cons). After a quick mist and applying just this ampoule, my sunscreen doesn't pill at all. With the weather getting warmer, I've been relying on this method as I don't want to wear heavy base makeup. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 20, 2023
Skin type: Combination dehydrated, sensitive Two advantages I noticed while using the Anua Ampoule: 1. It absorbs well! It nails both hydration and a matte finish!! As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I usually ditch products that feel oily, but this one barely feels greasy at all! Initially, I thought the finish might be slightly oily, but that sensation disappeared after a few seconds! So I've been using it confidently for over a week now! Oh, and for combination dehydrated skin, remember that controlling the amount is crucial! Don't overapply just because it doesn't feel oily. Instead, apply small amounts multiple times. Since I already had another ampoule in my routine, one application of this was usually enough! 2. The dropper works great! This might seem trivial, but ampoule users will understand... There are so many droppers that dispense tiny amounts, which can be quite frustrating. I was worried that since the Anua Ampoule bottle is small, the dropper might not work well, but my concerns were unfounded. It dispenses perfectly, so use it without worry! I'm not sure if I'm sensitive to fragrances, but this definitely isn't unscented. There's a slight rubber smell...? If I try to think positively, it's somewhat like coconut oil mixed with a rubber scent...? Since I prefer unscented products, this was a drawback for me. I think one application of Anua might be enough for oily skin, but it might be too dry for those with dry skin! You may need to layer it multiple times or apply other skincare products on top to prevent dryness! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 20, 2023
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. First, my skin type is combination dehydrated, and I'm currently an ampoule nomad. What I liked: 1. Texture The consistency was neither too thin nor too thick, making it absorb well. 2. Hydration up, oiliness down It provided hydration while keeping oiliness at bay. The disappointing aspect was the scent. Personally, I prefer fragrance-free products, but there was a slightly artificial, plastic-like smell that didn't agree with me. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinMay 19, 2023
It absorbs well and feels hydrating. The finish has a nice, firm texture. The formula has a flowing consistency with a slightly slick texture, making it easy to apply and spread! This is just personal preference, but I'm not a fan of the scent. I was expecting a fresh or zesty fragrance, but it's more of an artificial nutty smell?! I think I would have preferred it unscented or with a lighter fragrance! Thanks to its great absorption and hydration, I recommend mixing it with your foundation! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 17, 2023
The package's inspirational messages encourage self-reflection, making me pause as I apply the ampoule in front of the mirror. It's a moment to acknowledge my efforts for the day, offering comfort when I'm feeling down and boosting my mood. The deeply hydrating formula combats dryness, perfect for my dry skin. Its water-based texture absorbs well without any sticky feeling. The scent is disappointing. Personally, it reminds me of the smell of liquid glue used in stationery, which I find unpleasant. For those with dry skin, mixing this with your foundation during summer can help prevent flakiness and create a smoother application. The more you layer, the more you'll experience its firming effect and intense hydration. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 16, 2023
The texture isn't too watery, making it pleasant to apply! Layering it 2-3 times kept my skin hydrated until morning! I love the clean design and transparent packaging, making it easy to check how much product is left! Its compact size doesn't take up much space, so it's perfect for travel! The price seems a bit high. It's not a large volume either, so next time I'll probably wait for a big discount before purchasing. While layering multiple times provided long-lasting hydration, applying it just once left my skin dry by morning! If you layer it multiple times like me, you'll probably use it up quickly! It has a scent reminiscent of ointment... Those sensitive to fragrances might want to test it before buying. Layering it 2-3 times provides long-lasting hydration!
