I tend to avoid makeup because it's a hassle and makes my skin feel stuffy. I'm in the process of finding the best product for me that can overcome the inevitable white cast and dryness typical of mineral sunscreens. In the meantime, I've tried products with brightening effects or slight tints, hoping they might offset some of the drawbacks of mineral sunscreens. That's why I decided to try this product! Let's start with the positives. There were no unusual reactions or irritation. In terms of hydration, it wasn't bad at all. I'd say it ranks in the upper-middle range compared to other products I've tried. (I'm very particular about my skincare routine because mineral sunscreens tend to dry out my skin over time)
ConsThis is a common issue with all sunscreens labeled as 'brightening'. There's a recommended amount of sunscreen to apply, but I'm not sure how much the company assumes we're using when they develop these brightening products. I try to apply close to the recommended amount, if not the full amount. All the brightening products I've tried make my skin look very strange when applied generously. It's even worse than the white cast. Regular sunscreen is actually better... So while using a small amount of this might give a nice brightening effect, what's the point of using sunscreen then...? If I'm mistaken about the proper amount of sunscreen to use, that's my fault. But I'm prone to freckles and sun spots, and my skin is sensitive to sunlight, so I need to be careful. However! Compared to other brightening products I've tried, which tend to have a strong yellow tint and apply very thickly, this one was slightly better with a pinkish tone and a somewhat lighter texture. In my opinion, this was a bit better. Anyway, if you apply this (generously) alone, you end up looking like a person with a very strange complexion. It's impossible to go foundation-free, and you actually need to neutralize it with a (slightly darker) foundation or cushion. It's doubly uncomfortable. It also transfers quite a bit when worn alone. After wearing a mask for two hours, areas with high friction like the bridge of the nose were completely rubbed off, leaving my face looking patchy... I'm wondering how to use up the remaining product... I'm trying to find some good way to use it...

I hope the Hwahae team can fix this issue. It's disheartening to lose everything I worked hard on writing. I have shade 13 neutral skin with concerns about redness and blemish scars. I usually go foundation-free, using only mineral sunscreen. Packaging: True to its 'brightening' name, the product has a noticeable peach-toned brightening effect, and the packaging reflects this well. I appreciated the Braille on the cap. Application: It applies moisturizing but finishes semi-matte. It seems to depend heavily on skincare base - I used it with toner and emulsion. As I don't have severely dehydrated skin, it worked well for me. The brightening effect gives about a half-shade lift with a peachy tone. Ingredients: I can't use bases with talc, so I was pleased that this had clean ingredients and didn't cause any blemishes. Eye Irritation: This is a crucial factor for me in sunscreens, and I'm happy to report there was no eye irritation.
ConsOverall it's decent, but I'm giving it 2 stars because: Dead skin cell emphasis and settling into wrinkles: Even when used alone, it severely emphasizes dead skin cells and settles into wrinkles. I tried building up my skincare base and using powder on wrinkle-prone areas, but it didn't improve. I even tried layering cushion foundation over it, but the skin texture looked so bad I had to remove it immediately. The finish and how much it depends on skincare base suggest it's a high-maintenance product. Darkening: There's significant darkening. I thought it would be fine since the brightening effect isn't too intense, but as time passes, my face gradually turns grayish.
TipSince my neck is darker than my face and less oily, I'm currently using it on my neck and finishing with powder to reduce stickiness.
