It brightens like a mineral sunscreen, but without any dryness! I used to apply mineral sunscreens for brightening, but they'd dry out over time. Now I think I'll stick with this! Above all, I love that the ingredients are gentle. It has great staying power too. It's perfect for that bare-faced look. My dad even said my skin looks clearer! There's not really anything to complain about, except maybe that one application is a bit light, so you need to apply twice. And it doesn't have much coverage? But I wasn't expecting coverage to begin with, haha... Plus, I'm satisfied that it covers some mild redness! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinMay 16, 2025
This is one of the Nth items I've used. As it is a Hwahae-certified product, I could use it with confidence in terms of its ingredients, and most importantly, the tone-up effect was natural and not sticky, so it was good to use daily. When applied, it absorbs well into the skin without a whitish, chalky feeling, and it brightens and evens out the skin's natural tone, making it perfect as a "no-makeup, yet looks good" base. Especially when used before makeup, even with a thin layer of base, the skin tone is evenly refined, so the makeup goes on more cleanly. When I use this, I often hear compliments about my good skin. Although the moisturizing power is not very high, on days when the skin is very dry, there may be flaking or emphasis of dead skin. It is essential to apply and use a moisturizing cream sufficiently to achieve a smooth application. Also, since there is almost no pore coverage, if you expect a base function, it may be somewhat disappointing. Using a puff or sponge rather than your hands will result in a much thinner and more even skin tone application. After my skincare routine, I apply a small amount of moisturizer onto a puff and gently dab it onto my skin. This gives a much more natural and seamless finish without any patchiness. I recommend mixing it with sunscreen since it doesn't have any UV protection. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 27, 2024
1. Texture and Feel • Texture: A lightweight, smooth cream formula. It spreads easily without burdening the skin and doesn't feel sticky, leaving a fresh finish. • Absorption: It quickly sinks into the skin upon application, without sitting on top. It feels moisturizing while naturally adhering to the skin. • Finish: Gives a dewy, hydrated finish as if you've applied a moisturizer. Keeps your skin hydrated all day long without any dryness. 2. Advantages 1. Moisturizing Power • Unlike many brightening moisturizers that can feel drying, this one provides excellent hydration like a moisturizer. Perfect for those with dry skin. 2. Sun Protection • With its SPF function, you can skip sunscreen for light outdoor activities. Conveniently brightens and protects from UV rays in one step! 3. Natural Brightening Effect • It evens out your complexion naturally without making you look overly pale or cakey. Its subtle effect makes it great for daily use. 4. Light and Fresh Finish • You can layer it multiple times without feeling heavy or suffocating. Especially recommended for those who dislike heavy base makeup. 1. Subtle Brightening Effect • The effect might be too subtle for those seeking a more dramatic brightening result. It's closer to a gentle skin-evening effect rather than an obvious tone-up. 2. Lack of Coverage • As it focuses on brightening, it may not sufficiently cover blemishes or redness. While satisfactory on days when you don't need much coverage, additional makeup might be necessary if you want more concealing power. The Hwahae Testers highly recommend the Nine Wishes Tone Up Cream if you're after hydrating moisture and a natural brightening effect! Its non-drying, fresh feel and sun protection make it perfect for days when you want to simply even out your skin tone. However, it might slightly disappoint those expecting a dramatic brightening effect or high coverage. We recommend this as a daily brightening moisturizer for those seeking a natural, hydrated skin look! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 24, 2024
First off, I love how it applies incredibly moisturizing without feeling greasy, and leaves a wonderfully matte finish. It's not a thick brightening moisturizer, but rather feels almost like an emulsion - so hydrating and smooth in texture. This means you can easily spread it over large areas with just your hands, no need for precise application. Plus, the pump dispenser makes it so much more convenient to use compared to squeeze-tube products! It doesn't offer any coverage, so it's best used just to lightly brighten your complexion. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSep 9, 2024
I've been using this for a while now, and it's quite reliable. I love how it gives my skin a natural, 'barely-there' look. The upside is it gives a 'no-makeup' appearance. The downside? It doesn't offer much coverage. I'm probably on my 5th bottle now. BB creams and foundations with heavy color and coverage don't work well for me - they make my skin look cakey and can separate. This product, however, I use like a sunscreen. It improves my complexion without leaving a white cast, which is why I've been using it consistently. In summer, it might feel a bit rich, but a light dusting of powder with a brush keeps everything looking flawless. It's perfect for achieving a clean, natural skin look. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 11, 2024
Highly recommended for those with dry skin! It's moisturizing and absorbs beautifully. Don't expect too much in terms of coverage. It feels more like a sunscreen rather than a makeup base or foundation. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 10, 2024
Just applying this alone seems to even out my complexion nicely. It's affordable, and the packaging is hygienic. While it does provide some correction, the coverage is a bit lacking, which is somewhat disappointing. I'm currently using it mixed with BB cream. - Hwahae UserDry SkinOct 23, 2023
It doesn't cause blemishes on sensitive skin. I received this product when my face was in terrible condition, and I was scared to use a new cosmetic in case it made things worse. I hesitated to write a review because I couldn't use it, but when the deadline approached, I reluctantly gave it a try. To my surprise, there were no additional blemishes. What a relief...! The product's slogan 'Vegan Tone-Up' is completely proven! It's moisturizing! Not like a rich cream, but more like applying an emulsion. Since it's a brightening moisturizer that you'll use after your skincare routine and you won't apply a large amount, it seems suitable for both dry and oily skin types. (It's more hydrating compared to other brightening creams) No creasing or cracking! I've tried various base products, and this doesn't pill with anything underneath. It adheres well to the skin regardless of its condition. It also doesn't transfer, which is great. The skin feels light. It's absolutely not heavy or suffocating. The reason why it doesn't clog pores or cause blemishes even when worn all day is probably because it's so lightweight. It's great that it has sun protection, so I don't need to apply sunscreen separately for quick trips outside. All the brightening creams I've used before didn't have sun protection! I also use brightening cream to match the tone on my neck when I do full makeup, and this prevents my neck from getting sunburned. It removes easily. Based on when I only applied the brightening moisturizer with some contouring, it came off well. Even without double cleansing, just a light foam cleanse removed it completely. It's perfect for those lazy days when you've only gone out briefly, like to a nearby cafe. There's some darkening. Even though I have dry skin and usually don't experience darkening, this product did cause some... When first applied, it looks like you've dusted your face with flour so you can't apply too much, but when I got home, I noticed the darkening. When it darkens, blemishes become more noticeable. (They were more visible compared to when first applied! I don't usually have many blemishes, and since this isn't a high-coverage product, it wasn't too bad) It's strange - while it's just a tone-up cream without coverage, somehow the skin looks like you've applied a full-coverage foundation or BB cream. It's frustrating because nothing is actually covered, but it looks like you're wearing makeup. When using it on the face for a bare-faced look, it's disappointing that it appears like you're wearing makeup... It makes you wonder why not just use a product with coverage. Connected to the point above, because of how it makes the skin look, if you don't contour, you lose all dimension and your face actually looks worse than before applying... So you have to go through the trouble of contouring, which makes you question why you're using a tone-up cream instead of just applying BB cream or foundation. It feels moisturizing at first, but becomes slightly dry over time. It's not severely drying, and it might be partly due to the changing seasons as we're entering colder weather. For those with dry skin, make sure to apply a solid base of skincare products before using this in autumn and winter! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinOct 21, 2023
Unlike other brightening moisturizers that I usually abandon after a few uses due to dryness, clogged pores, or a white cast that appears over time, this product has none of those issues. It's quite hydrating and absorbs quickly even when applied generously. It truly lives up to its name, evening out the skin tone and giving a slight brightening effect. Even after hours of wear, it doesn't settle into pores or leave a floating appearance. I think I'll be using this for a long time. Personally, I found the scent pleasant and not overwhelming. The pump packaging is also a plus. There wasn't anything particularly disappointing about this product. However, those expecting high coverage might find it lacking. I recommend applying multiple thin layers for best results. If you have dry skin, it's advisable to use a rich moisturizer as a base. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinOct 19, 2023
- Natural look The color is pure white, so I was worried it might look too stark, but it quickly blends with my skin tone for a natural, radiant finish. There's a noticeable difference from when I'm not wearing it, but it doesn't look unnatural. It's perfect for casual outings in the neighborhood. - Non-transferring While it can be rubbed off if you really work at it, I love that it doesn't transfer onto my phone when I'm just wearing this. Foundation staining white collars used to stress me out a bit, but applying this on my neck area prevents any transfer. It's great! I'll definitely repurchase this. Since it's a brightening moisturizer, the coverage is on the lighter side. It feels super hydrating when you apply it, but it seems to dry out quickly (personal experience). It's great for covering the neck area when wearing white shirts without any transfer. Also works well as a base before applying foundation.
