As someone with combination skin, I was most worried about my T-zone breaking down, but this foundation stays fresh until the afternoon without excess oil. Even when it does start to fade, it disappears naturally without patchiness or streaking. When used with blotting papers or a setting spray, your makeup can truly last all day! - Thin and lightweight, yet provides definite coverage - Fades gracefully with excellent staying power - Semi-matte finish perfect for combination skin - Creates a luxurious skin appearance (balancing glow and a matte finish) - May feel a bit too matte for those with dry skin - The puff applicator is somewhat large, making it tricky to apply in delicate areas like around the eyes and nose - On the pricier side (but totally worth it considering the quality!) This foundation seems to be a great option for those with combination skin who struggle with oiliness in the T-zone. It offers a balance between coverage and comfort, with a finish that controls oil without looking flat. The natural fade-off is particularly impressive, as many foundations can look patchy or uneven as they wear away. While it may not be the best choice for very dry skin types, its performance on combination skin appears to be excellent. The price point might be a consideration for some, but many users seem to find the quality justifies the cost. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinMay 16, 2025
The expression is impressive. As soon as it is applied, it adheres closely to the skin and the breakdown is also beautiful, and the coverage is excellent, so when used on special days, it gives a sense of confidence. Even when it breaks down, it does not clump or become messy, and it naturally transforms into a radiant finish, so touch-ups are not burdensome. It is moisturizing yet finishes with a powdery feel, so it was perfect for combination skin, and the pore coverage was quite good as well. Time tends to cause a slight darkening, so it's best to apply it one shade lighter than desired initially. It's also on the pricier side, so using it daily may be burdensome. The puff's durability is somewhat weak, so frequent cleaning or replacement may be necessary. When making corrections, gently dab on a small amount with a puff, and it will cover without becoming too thick. There will be hardly any visible signs of reapplication, resulting in a very neat finish. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 7, 2025
It stays put for a long time without breaking down and has excellent adherence. Plus, there's no darkening of the skin. The puff is too small... It takes way too long to apply makeup. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 3, 2025
The design is lovely, and I particularly appreciate its unique hexagonal shape. Overall, I found everything about it quite appealing. The price is undoubtedly the most disappointing aspect. Also, the slightly smaller puff can be a bit inconvenient, though I've gotten used to it now. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinMar 1, 2025
I want to use this puff with all my moisturizing cushions! First off, the cushion itself has an amazing absorbing quality - it's like applying foundation mixed with essence. Would you believe it also has pretty decent coverage? The fine particles help cover pores better than average. I bought this based on a department store beauty advisor's recommendation. Although the color is slightly off for me, it still looks beautiful. It's a bit difficult to insert my finger into the puff. Maybe my hands are just too big? - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJan 17, 2025
It's moisturizing and provides decent coverage! I think switching from shade 20 to 19 would be perfect. The puff is too small, unfortunately. The shade range is a bit limited. Also, it tends to transfer. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinNov 4, 2024
As someone with a summer muted complexion, this cushion foundation is my absolute holy grail. While it's not super high coverage, it gives a natural finish that makes my skin look flawless, as if I was born with great skin. What I love most is how it doesn't break down or settle into pores over time, maintaining a fresh look all day. The case is simple yet elegant with its leather-like texture, which resists fingerprints and dust. This has become my staple product, hands down the best cushion I've ever used! The cushion puff is quite small, and the product itself is quite pricey. It's frustrating that they sometimes make the refills incompatible with older versions during product renewals. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 19, 2024
The shade 20 is perfect for my skin tone. It wears beautifully, even as it fades, and applies thinly and evenly. Usually, just setting the nose area with powder is enough for decent longevity. While it doesn't fully conceal blemishes, it does a great job of evening out redness. The finish is incredibly natural, making it highly recommended for those who prefer this type of base makeup. The included puff is really like a sheet of paper... I keep that puff just for show and bought a different one to use. Also, it's a bit on the pricey side. Apply as thinly as possible and set with powder. Since it doesn't cover blemishes and dark spots, you'll need to use concealer. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAug 20, 2024
I have a light undertone, around shade 19-20. I prefer a semi-matte, powdery finish rather than a dewy or glowy look, so I often use powder. Among the cushions I regularly use, YSL's cushion might be the most hydrating line. Compared to the previous Luminous Matte version, the color seems slightly brighter and more moisturizing! It feels a bit cool when applied to the skin. It's almost identical to my skin tone, to the point where it might seem darker compared to my frequently used Dior or Maybelline cushions. I use it on days when I want a more subdued look. I've heard it's best for shade 21 skin tones. Since my skin is lighter than 21, it gives more of a tone-evening effect rather than a brightening one. It feels like the cushion color matches my skin tone perfectly. There's no pore-clogging, and the coverage is medium. If you apply too much, it can leave marks on the skin. Even in the afternoon when oil builds up, it doesn't break down unattractively! It's comfortable on the skin, doesn't cause blemishes, and the case is still pretty. Apart from the magnetic closure for the puff and opening, there's no change in the case design, which is disappointing. I wish they hadn't changed the case... or at least made the refills compatible. The case height has been reduced as shown in the photo. The more I use YSL cushions, the more I notice that slight distinctive scent. For me, that scent is a big no! Also... the puff is quite tiny. Those with larger fingers or hands might find it puzzling. The tension is good, so it applies firmly. Since the skin tone isn't particularly brightening on me, I find it works well with a bright, white-tinted blush. It gives a nice balancing effect! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinJan 23, 2024
It adheres well to the skin and gives a radiant look. I also like that the scent isn't too strong. The puff is quite small. It's a struggle to fit even two fingers in it!
